Tuesday Dugout Discussion

We ease ourselves into Gameweek 14 with two Tuesday night matches that, on the surface, promise little but may yet surprise.

It’s difficult to know what to expect from the clash at the Stadium of Light where Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland face Harry Redknapp’s new QPR “project”. Aston Villa’s meeting with struggling Reading provides the other distraction, a game devoid of established Fantasy assets but affording us the opportunity to assess the Royals’ potential ahead of the double Gameweek 16.

As always on matchday’s, our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to capture your views and emotions as the night’s action unfolds.

The team news finds Sunderland make two changes as John O’Shea fails to overcome the calf injury sustained against West Brom as Matt Kilgallon comes in; Craig Gardner starts ahead of Jack Colback in midfield. Redknapp is able to recall Jose Bosingwa to his back four, while Esteban Granero and Samba Diakite come into the midfield at the expense of Ale Faurlin and Shaun Derry.

Villa are forced into a change at the back with Ron Vlaar failing to recover from the injury that forced him off against Arsenal – Nathan Baker comes in to replace him. There’s also a change in midfield with Brett Holman getting the nod ahead of Karim El Ahmadi. Reading make two notable changes with Chris Gunter and Fantasy favourite Kaspars Gorkss making way, as Shaun Cummings and Adrian Mariappa are drafted in.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I find it quite amazing that Sterling keeps going up in price.

I have but I found most weeks he's my 5th midfield player aka.... On the bench.

    What's others thoughts?

Hi Evs - managed to play him v Wigan only because Fellaini was banned, but you are spot-on: currently he is likely to be benched by me every week unless I leave Michu or Berbs there.

I am just waiting for him to rise and rise before I go for a cheapo bench fodder as part of my wc and cash in on the profit.

I think I only played him v Wigan too.

Sterling has good rotation with Puncheon/Ramirez which gives you NOR,SOU, RDG, AVL, SUN

I actually think he is good enough to consider your forth midfielder and rotate him , on the odd occasion, with Punch.

How does this look for a hit? Tevez to Suarez and Baines to Enrique (Both after tomorrows games). I don't like getting rid of Tevez or Baines, but I feel like I need Suarez right now and Baines is a good option too.

All this talk of having three liverpool players is madness, its liverpool theyll finish 7th at best! Im part of theo keep baines crew hes reliable and will score points! Dont overload unless its a team from manchester

I'll be delighted if they finish 7th. They might not concede huge numbers of goals but I can't see them keeping a whole lot of CS. Baines is a quality LB, just not getting the attacking points that makes him such a big FF pick. Comparing Enrique to him is laughable, his new-found winger status won't last.

He's been dropped, has been absolutely awful for the 3 games before tonight.. Can't see him getting back in the team soon.

Cheers Byron. Might sell him on for a decent non Reading or Sunderland defender so. I watched the Villa match, Shorey in particular. Other than take frees and corners he does very little and it's not like he has Van Persie or Rooney on the end of any possible assists.

Hopefully he was just rested for Villa game but I hear McDermott is doing a bit of reshuffling. I'm gonna keep him, Cuellar and Johnson for DGW at least.
