With our Champions League and Fantasy Premier League communities already covered this week, we round off with a look at the Sky Sports game, checking on the progress of the Scout League leaders, analysing the latest transfer trends and checking on Fenners and Merse for tonight…
The Scout League
Charles Mouzon continues to dominate the Scout League and has now climbed to third overall in the Sky Sports game, trailing the leader by just 36 points. Charles’ “Geordie Boys” are a full 23 points in front of Simon Davies’ “Nags Head Rovers” who sits in second, and, while Chris Tuck enjoyed a jump back into our top three this week, he’s back on 879 points with the previous holder, Paul Hennessey, slipping all the way down to tenth spot in the Scout League.
Andy remains the top Scout contributor and his season has enjoyed a mini-revival – he’s now up to 22nd in the league on 831 points. I suffered a stutter this week, slipping back outside the top 2000 in the world on 761 points.
We still have four of the Scout community in the top 20 overall managers, which helps us hold onto the top ranking in the Private League table – our lead has been cut to 19 points, however.
A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.
Market Forces
Asmir Begovic remains the most popular transfer target this week, being party to no less than 41% of the transfers in made. The Stoke stopper is rated top for value in his position with 12.68 points per million delivered. He’s picked up transfers as a result of Ben Foster’s ongoing absence – given his upcoming schedule, however, it’s debatable whether Begovic will repay this week’s frenzy of investment.
While both Michu (21% ) and Marouane Fellaini (23%) go on acquiring new suitors at pace, Jermain Defoe ranks above them both for transfers in this week: over 23% of this week’s trades have seen the Tottenham striker come into Sky Sports lineups – no doubt as a direct replacement for Luis Suarez. The Liverpool man, suspended for the Upton Park trip, has been the most sold player over the past seven days. The Uruguayan has been involved in 24% of the transfers out made this week, just ahead of Stoke’s Peter Crouch who, having missed the win at West Brom, was traded as part of 22% of transfers.
Robin Van Persie continues to be sold on – he’s the fifth ranked player in the transfers out column, with over 13% of transactions this week seeing the Dutchman depart. The latest round of sales no doubt prompted by the returns of Wayne Rooney at Reading; he won man of the match at the Madjeski stadium, his fifth award of the season. Robin Van Persie has just a single man of the match award so far this term, a big factor in the Sky Sports game scoring.
The Fantasy Football Club
Graeme Le Saux is the latest signing made by the Fantasy Football Club, he’ll be in the studio with Fenners and Merse, listing his best XI. Tonight’s show has a full-on Manchester theme ahead of Sunday’s derby clash, with Chris Smalling and Noel Gallagher also featuring. Fenners’ haircut also contributes, of course. Tune in at 10pm on Sky Sports one.
