Sky Sports Focus

Having covered the Fantasy Premier League community already this week, we round off with a look at the Sky Sports game, checking on the progress of the Scout League leaders, analysing the latest transfer trends and popping in on Fenners and Merse ahead of tonight’s Fantasy Football Club…

The Scout League

Yet again, Charles Mouzon remains at the top of the Scout League standings. His team “Geordie Lads” is on 976 points, six clear of Paul McAnulty, a new name to our top three – his side “Housewives Favourite” moves into second after picking up an impressive 83 points last weekend. Simon Davis is a couple of points behind Paul in third – his “Nags Head Rovers” have accrued 968 points so far.

For the Contributors, Andy remains the highest-ranked on show – he sits in 33rd in the Scout League, with 882 points on the table.

We now have five players in the top 20 overall rankings, which maintains our lead at the top of the Private Leagues standings; the gap, however, is now just 7.6 points over our nearest rival.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Forces

Asmir Begovic’s eighth clean sheet of the campaign has earned him continued investment this week. The Stoke stopper has been party to an incredible 52% of all transfers in but in spite of a lowly 4.1 price tag, he is currently owned by less than 6% of Sky managers. A tough run of festive fixtures is likely to test the Potters over the next few matches, though.

Michu is the next most popular player this week after the Swansea man took his tally to 12 for the season against Norwich last Saturday. Coming in at just 5.0, he is the best value player in the game right now, having racked up 104 points in the opening 16 Gameweeks –over 24% of transfers in have included the in-form Spaniard in the past seven days.

Marouane Fellaini, Robin Van Persie and Jermain Defoe have also proven popular heading into the weekend – while Fellaini faces a tricky trip to Stoke, Van Persie and Defoe have been privy to 20% and 16% of transfers in as they prepare to play host to Sunderland and Swansea respectively.

Luis Suarez continues to be shipped out of teams at a frantic pace – with his one-match ban completed and a favourable set of fixtures to follow, the Liverpool forward has been part of 26% of all transfers out made this week. Chelsea pair Petr Cech (24%) and Eden Hazard (17%) have been shipped out due to the Blues’ blank Gameweek and while sales of Ben Foster continue due to his groin injury, many of Van Persie’s have decided to part company with the Dutchman – given United’s run of games, this could come back to bite them.

The Fantasy Football Club

The Fantasy Football Club has a bit of a north London feel to it tonight. Teddy Sheringham and Jack Wilshere are the guests – they’ll be going shoulder to shoulder, or maybe not, alongside Fenners and Merse from 10pm on Sky Sports one.

Ok then, Gibbs, Mertesacker or Sagna?

I'm thinking not Sagna, as contract negotiations/rumours of him leaving seem to have jeopardised his position.
Gibbs doesn't seem as nailed on as Mert, but does his attacking potential outweigh that? Or is that even true? And Mert has set piece potential.

gibbs. mertesacker nailed on is a myth, he's simply ahead of koscielny for now. i think gibbs is worth the 0.3 extra over sagna, just seems a more talented attacking player

      Foster,
      Enrique, Cameron, Demel,
      Cazorla, Michu, Fellaini, Sess,
      RVP, Tevez, Berba.
      Subs: Fed, Cuellar, Puncheon, Clyne.

Got 1 FT and 2.3m in the bank. What do
      you think I should do?:
      A) Sess > Dempsey/ Silva,
      B) Tevez > Suarez
      C) Federici > Begovic
      D) B+C for a 4 pt. hit.

If Foster is still out, I guess it makes sense to get Bego? Thoughts? What do you think I should do?
