Possibly the most un-Christmas-like Christmas Podcast we’ve ever recorded, thanks mainly to Granville being banned from editing in the entire MP3 of Dean Martin’s “Let it Snow” but also because neither of us had time to sort our pressies. To be fair, I’m surprised that Granville felt an ounce Christmas spirit after Santi’s showing at Reading opened up a 40-point “chasm” in our min-league. Do I have it all wrapped up already?

To his credit, my co-host takes it all on his bearded chin, joining me to discuss the Felliani fallout, its impact on the transfer trends in “all aboard”, a preview of the weekend fixtures and provided his assistance in the management of the ScoutCast team: an outfit which plundered no less than 80 points thanks to Santi’s haul and Reading’s bulging net.

Unitie the bow and rip this one open via this link, or stream the merriment via the player below…

Its funny when people just make stuff up and force themselves to believe it. Chelsea lacks depth? They started with Eden Hazard on the bench today. He came on and score, showing he is more than capable of covering Mata for a rest. Marin is now being used as well and Oscar is still in the picture. I have Mata but the reality is the will most likely be rested this weekend with two close and tougher games after thant are 3 days apart.

Ah yes, because Rooney and RVP are in such bad form! And because United are struggling for goals!!

United have 30%+ more goals this season than the next highest team. Between Rafael, RVP and Rooney you have about 90% of United’s attacking points, which is huge. Im a big fan of this, especially with free kicks and corners being shared, and Rooney on PKs.

I feel very out of touch here this week. Everyone seems to taking points hits; I;m desperate to hold on to my two free transfers for next week, so think I shouldn’t even spend a freebie!

I want a City player, but don’t even want to spend my free transfer on it this week. I wonder whether people are forgetting that, with popular players having a blank and inevitable heavy rotation, it will be challenging to get 11 men out for the boxing day fixture.

I guess the main thing that allows me to plan ahead so carefully is not having to worry about Fellaini, having never had him.

    A) slowly loading your team with ARS & WHU players and get many of them (e.g O’Brien,Gibbs, Nolan, Santi/Walcott) playing in the DGW, and then get rid of them with Jan WC; or

    B) rope all of them in GW23 using the Jan WC, and take them out later accordingly as you’re not confident with their fixtures afterwards?

chances are you may have 2-4 players anyway from these teams, so probably only going to add another 2-3 if you want full house. i would think using WC to adjust after is better. I think it depends a bit on when you want this defender to play.

I was in a similar boat with affording Mata and downgraded to Clyne as I need a defender this week. I would keep Enrique, so would be inclined to say A-C, depending on when you need them.

Suarez -> Tevez/Dzeko for a -4pt hit is madness, right?

      Yes, it’s ridculous knee-jerking.

Suarez at home to Fulham would be crazy to transfers out for free, let alone paying hits to do it.

        James says:

I transfered out Suarez when he had Villa at home (last week), for a hit, for Rooney, and that worked out well.

Suarez is in bad form. Not sure why he is a legitimate captain option this week! Especially if Sterling is rested. Suarez cant do it all alone in the Liverpool team.

If so, i will rather to fellaini >> yaya this week and do rafael + sess >> hughes + bale (for a hit) next week

    Thoughts?

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”

Jan Vertonghen outlines what he feels is his best position for Andre Villas-Boas
