FFS Paddy Power Cup – Semi-Final Draw

We’re down to the last four now in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII now. The next round will take place over Gameweek 22 and will see David Bevan’s “ange1range1” take on Sir Alex Jnr’s “Milehigh” – the former is the clear underdog going into this one; although he’s nestled inside the top 7,000, David’s opponent has moved ominously into 34th place overall after yesterday’s seven fixtures.

Site regular “WildRover” is the early favourite heading into the second semi-final. He has moved up to 439th in the overall rankings ahead of tonight’s three remaining Gameweek 21 fixtures, while his opponent, Mr KK, is just inside the 30,000 mark. With winter wildcards available, however, the form book could easily be turned on its head as our quartet plot for silverware…

2Wild roverVsMr.KK

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Asked this earlier. Sounds very nice - the new Sterling but with more skill. Problem is rotation with Ameobi and rumours of them being in the market for Remy which would glue Marveaux to the bench.

So i'm looking for something different with my WC. I am mid table obscurity in my main mini-league and the leader is 190th in the world. :/

Drastic times call for drastic measures. Does anyone think I can pull this team off?

    Foster, Begovic
Garrido, Jones, Cameron, Evans J, Gibbs
    Puncheon, Noble, Bale, Johnson, Pilkington
Van Persie, Suarez, Aguero (assuming fit, will save money for him if not)

    0.0 left.

Terrible lack of Chelsea I know, but definitely different right?

Well yes, compared to the heavy hitters but the point is for it to be different from the Fellani, Michu, Bale, Mata, Walcot combinations you see out there.

Any constructive criticism? Is the trade of interesting enough to allow the big strikers to profit? Obviously it is a gamble.

ba is basically cashing in now on his form and fair play to him because his knee problem is very serious, could go at anytime and he needs a better contract than the one he's on at newcastle. id say he'l be lucky to play until he's 30 so if he ties himself to a four year contract he's done very well, especially when he can never ever pass a conventional medical

I was quite set on a rather nice WC now that gave me 4 DGW-ers followed by the 3-5-2 template the week after with Ruiz.

But just one transfer rumour has me twitching like a girl guide with a box of snuff. I think I'll wait until more of the dust has settled after the DGW.

Ba (OK, not a rumour but you know what I mean). Got me thinking about Bale > Real, the impact of Sturridge on Suarez, blah blah blah

Not to mention all the last minute curveballs.

No, they can just do a Stoke and nil-nil their way to safety. Their defence is pretty tight, right? ... oh

Ba owners - why the despair? I would be chuffed.

    1. Ready made route into Chelsea's 'goals galore' attack
    2. He will become number one, for sure and score loads with the chances he'll be given
    3. Price will rise like crazy as casuals Hoover him up

I'm looking at getting him in, once this GW is out the way 😉

But he misses a game so scores 0 - and people without him will just bring him in on the WC.

If you have him that is - but people will still be bitter that they've scored a big fat 0 for Ba especially those who brought him in this GW

Fernando Torres is the pet of abramovich and the main reason for Benitez getting hired. Ba wont play too much.

it could be huge I agree, but the rotation risk aspect if going 3-5-2 on wc could be a factor. If going 3-4-3 it COULD be worth it

what was your average in mind before the season started mines was to average 60 points per game, slightly behind that currently DGW will help

I think it's about beating the average on a weekly basis rather than having a raw points target but yeah generally if I hit 60 points I'm happy enough.

been looking into various wild card formation stategies, how about this:

    Begovic McCarthy
    Rafael Zabeleta Baines 4.5mill 5.0mill
    Walcott Michu Bale Pilkington Marveaux
    Ba RVP Suarez

    3 big hitting defenders
Michu Walcott Bale play every game, Marveaux and pilk rotate for home fixtures
    play front 3

BAINES is not a big hitting defender.

Expensive does not equal big hitter.

In his past 14 games there is only ONE time he got 6 or more.
