John Terry returns for Chelsea ahead of the double Gameweek, though Rafa Benitez confirmed earlier that while the defender is in the squad, he will not start tomorrow’s game at Stoke. Petr Cech will travel with the squad to Stoke and will be assessed prior to the Britannia clash, while Benitez also revealed Demba Ba had a hamstring niggle in midweek and Fernando Torres was suffering from a stomach bug but both forwards are fully-fit once again:

Sergio Aguero is ruled out of City’s trip to Arsenal but could return in time for next weekend’s home clash with Fulham. David Moyes expects Leighton Baines to recover from an ankle problem in time for tomorrow’s home game with Swansea, though is continuing to monitor the left-back’s progress.

Nani and Anderson are back for United but Wayne Rooney remains on the sidelines as the league leaders welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford. Rooney could, however, return in time for next Wednesday’s FA Cup replay with West Ham. Aston Villa will be without Darren Bent, Marc Albrighton and Chris Herd for the visit of Southampton – Ron Vlaar has returned to training but Paul Lambert is wary of selecting him, due to a number of weeks on the sidelines.

Carlos Cuellar and Danny Rose are both sidelined with hamstring injuries for Sunderland, while Stephane Sessegnon should shrug off an ankle problem ahead of West Ham’s visit to the Stadium of Light. Martin Jol has ruled out Kerim Frei and Momo Diarra, while Steve Sidwell is a doubt for the Cottagers’ home game with Wigan.

    Bloody hell this is ridiculous. So through a series of apparently rational decisions, I have ended up:

    Playing Sagna and Walcott against City.
    Keeping Suarez against United instead of getting Ba for potentially two games.
    Benching Michu.

    It just doesn't look right 😆

    What a struggle to get any Chelsea coverage.

    I can't bring myself to transfer out Bale for Mata (I'd need a hit), and can't get any defence coverage apart from Cahill and Azpi, who are both doubts to play two...

    wildcard is in play. heres how I am at the moment.

    I know its a gamble having 2 west ham defenders but I cant resist a double week. On sat morning I'll switch out Mata for Santi Caz and maybe take a 4 point hit switching punch to noble. Obviously I'll take gibbs off the bench.3chelsea 2 southhampton on doubles and then 3 arsenal and 2 maybe 3 hammers for double.

    Played WC last night and really can't see anything I want to change.

    Only ? is well worn one of Michu/Walcott for the bench, and we won't know until the dust settles. I can see both sides. Walcott is there at the moment but I am leaning towards Michu. Hmmmm. Interesting week indeed...

    GF also playing her WC and getting in a bit of a pickle, by all accounts.
