The Weekend Team News

John Terry returns for Chelsea ahead of the double Gameweek, though Rafa Benitez confirmed earlier that while the defender is in the squad, he will not start tomorrow’s game at Stoke. Petr Cech will travel with the squad to Stoke and will be assessed prior to the Britannia clash, while Benitez also revealed Demba Ba had a hamstring niggle in midweek and Fernando Torres was suffering from a stomach bug but both forwards are fully-fit once again:

Sergio Aguero is ruled out of City’s trip to Arsenal but could return in time for next weekend’s home clash with Fulham. David Moyes expects Leighton Baines to recover from an ankle problem in time for tomorrow’s home game with Swansea, though is continuing to monitor the left-back’s progress.

Nani and Anderson are back for United but Wayne Rooney remains on the sidelines as the league leaders welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford. Rooney could, however, return in time for next Wednesday’s FA Cup replay with West Ham. Aston Villa will be without Darren Bent, Marc Albrighton and Chris Herd for the visit of Southampton – Ron Vlaar has returned to training but Paul Lambert is wary of selecting him, due to a number of weeks on the sidelines.

Carlos Cuellar and Danny Rose are both sidelined with hamstring injuries for Sunderland, while Stephane Sessegnon should shrug off an ankle problem ahead of West Ham’s visit to the Stadium of Light. Martin Jol has ruled out Kerim Frei and Momo Diarra, while Steve Sidwell is a doubt for the Cottagers’ home game with Wigan.

We’ve collected all this in our team news section and added our current predicted lineups ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. You can keep in touch with the very latest via our twitter feed as always.

Ok, so if you were to leave out one of:

    Bale

    Who would that be?

    BACKS UP MY WILDCARD GOALKEEPERS
Asmir Begovic & Wojciech Szczesny: Current Cost 11.1
Next Ten Gameweeks: MCI (che WHM) WIG STO RDG AVL WHM EVE WBA RDG AVL

Undoubtedly reserved for those looking to spend big in this area, this partnership will set you back no less than 11.1 in the FPL right now, but will offer a rotation that presents a favourable fixture in almost every Gameweek right to the end of the season. In a nutshell, barring in injury, you won’t need to address your goalkeepers again. A full run of home matches right up until Gameweek 34 can be achieved and, even when these two go off kilter as a pairing, an obliging fixture can always be found. Gameweek 29 looks to be the only real sticking point on the horizon, with Arsenal facing Everton at the Emirates and Stoke visiting Newcastle.

The one major caveat of course is that, if you’re spending over 5.0 on a player, you don’t want them to be alternating off your bench. A Stoke defender can also be purchased far cheaper than Begovic, with Marc Wilson thought to be back in the frame within two-to-three weeks – a 4.0 price tag looks somewhat irresistible, should that prove to be the case

Hi.. Not much time to get updated this week. Help please.

1: Should I start Begovic or Bunn? Bunn vs Newcastle w/o Ba is interesting.

2: Who would you bench from this front 8? Anichebe seems a choice, but he's in good form.

    Michu - Mata - Santi - Walcott - Silva
    RvP - Suarez - Anichebe

Who else is there to play in that position? Piazon is a striker right?

Quick poll, who to captain out of these 3 Chelsea:
    - Mata
    - Ba
    - Luiz

Mata seems the obvious "safe" choice but am starting to be tempted by Luiz...could easily get 2 clean sheets (12 pts) and an assist or goal would be a bonus...

Very good. I'd play punch instead of Lennon.

Not bad, would prefer to have Bale in there instead of Lennon but assume you don't have the funds??

If it was me I'd go with Clyne & Bale. I think you'll want Bale in sooner or later, might aswell get him in with your WC.

If you actually bothered to read the article you're commenting on you'd know Cuellar is injured...
