The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 27

It’s been a while since we took a tenner from our wallets and paid visit to our friends at Paddy Power. A fortnight ago we were denied winnings by Bobby Zamora’s solitary strike after Michu had delivered on his side of our betting bargain. Undeterred by that setback, we’re at Paddy’s door again to examine the Scout Pick inspired markets for the Gameweek ahead…

Theo Walcott simply had to feature in this week’s bets. The Arsenal winger has run Robin Van Persie close all week in the Captain’s Poll and goes into the home clash with Villa well fancied to add to his already impressive 11-goal tally this term. Paddy are also showing confidence in the fleet-footed attacker, offering 16/5 on a Walcott anytime goal with a Gunners clean sheet. While we’re right behind Theo, we’ve got concerns on the Arsenal back four against the menace of Christian Benteke, so we’ll place a cautious £3 on this one.

The next market looks more up our street. Romelu Lukaku was inspired form when he was unleashed from the bench in the 2-0 win at Anfield last time out and, with a rest beckoning for Gameweek 28 against his parent club Chelsea, the big Belgian will surely be set free to torment the Black Cats at the Hawthorns this weekend. Paddy are dangling 6/1 on a Lukaku strike with a West Brom clean sheet against Sunderland – we’ll throw another £3 their way on that one.

Moussa Sissoko has been a revelation over his three matches for the Magpies and is another who goes into the weekend programme heavily backed for returns. Newcastle face Southampton at St James’ Park on Sunday: a crucial game for both sides. We expect that Sissoko will, once again, be played up behind Papiss Cisse to lead the charge on the Saints goal and, with two strikes to his name already, Paddy’s odds of 11/1 on a Sissoko goal with a Newcastle clean sheet look encouraging. We’ll wager another couple of quid on this one.

That leaves just a single pound to spend on Paddy’s regular treble market, which this week includes a potential fourth consecutive strike from Gareth Bale at West Ham. Paddy are dangling 18/1 on a Bale goal at Upton Park on Monday night, with a Walcott assist against Villa and a United clean sheet against QPR.

Because Walcott is mentioned about 20 times more than Cazorla on these forums! What do you think?
