With Gameweek 1 concluded, it’s time to delve a little deeper into the data in our first “Big Numbers” article for members of the campaign. We analyse the display of Arsenal’s new wide man against Palace, the QPR front pairing at home to Hull, Liverpool’s ever-improving youngster, Southampton’s delivery under Ronald Koeman and United’s weekend scorer in the 2-1 home loss to Swansea.

How much time is left to think on whether to do mata to fab or not

The engine has started

Giroud is the worst striker in the league.
Worse than Carlton ColeOpen Controls-
Zzzzzzz
Open Controls -
Carlton salutes you. 😉

I was saying this all last season and got flamed on an epic scale for it. He really in pony.

Cause Arsenal fans are deluded, will always be...

Only Sigurdsson and Dier have risen in price.
For week 1, that's not many at all, right?Open Controls -
It's getting silly in here

Just done Ramsey to Mata. Because Ramsey now has a 3 match ban
Open Controls-
2 yellows is a 1 match ban btw.
Open Controls-
Not in Europe it isn't
Open Controls -
1 match for 2 yellows!!!!!
Yet 4 months for 1 ear. UnfairOpen Controls

I did the same.
Open Controls -
Yup done same
Shame ramsey will miss so many gamesOpen Controls -

glad didn't go Mata to Fab already!
Open Controls-
Mata to walcott
Prob score more pointsOpen Controls

probably a good move, I hear too many points are bad for your health
Open Controls -

Giroud is on par with Chamakh. Sad.
Open Controls -
I've got such a temptation to (c) Mata this week.
But being the toothless tiger I am it'll be Fab, Roo or CostaOpen Controls -
Doosra,
What are Vaz Te's minutes looking like for the next 4-5 games?Open Controls -
Any went Nugent(c)
wtf?
😯Open Controls -
It's great banter here, it really is
Open Controls-
It's what I'm all about 😆
Open Controls

Arsenal are still sh~te
Open Controls -
Surely most of the Mata transfers out are to get Fabregas.
When Fab rises to 9.1 tonight, that swap will only work with cash in the bank or a hit.
Seems probable that the pace of Mata and Fab transfers will slow down, no?Open Controls-
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. 😉
Open Controls -
until Friday when the casuals log on
Open Controls -
hmmm, good point.
i bet there's a fair number of hazard > fabregas transfers as well 😉Open Controls -
No, if anything, transfers increase as week goes on. Friday evenings transfer volume will be carnage.
Open Controls-
But the point is that the straight Mata for Fab is harder tomorrow

The amount of nonsense spoken in here is ridiculous.
Giroud has had a bad game, still scores 20+ goals a season. Will be a big player this season.Open Controls -
Wildcard. Played. So help me god.
On the plus side, i reckon i can haz 102.0m team value by saturday morning, plus Aguero, Rooney, Costa up front for the weekend 🙂
Why can i never hold onto my wildcard 🙁Open Controls -
Can see Ox dislodging Wilshere for CM some time soon.
Open Controls-
Wilshire needs to not start and Ox needs to start, whether he plays on the wing or centrally. Ox is great, Jack is mediocre.

The final whistle is blown.
The game ends 0-0.
Arsenal players go home.Open Controls-
Nice summary 😆
Open Controls

Kelly or Chester in for Naughton??
Open Controls-
Chester for those tasty fixtures and a price rise.
Open Controls

Can't decide on who to captain, Sturridge, Rooney or Costa?
Open Controls-

He didn't convince me that much though.

Mata vs Fábregas
Before some of you make your decision tonight I just wanted to add a note that although Fábregas bagged a couple of assists (albeit against arguably the weakest PL opposition) in the opening weekend, the stats between him and Juan are not as different as you may believe:
http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#premier_league/2014/2015/cesc_fàbregas/126/126/306/0/p|premier_league/2014/2015/juan_mata/126/126/313/38/p#pass_completion/key_passes/chances_created/fouls_suffered/total_shots/assists/total_duels_%/tackles_lost/shot_accuracy#90
It seems Mata actually provided more 'key passes' during the Swansea game as well as a fair share of the corners and free kicks with Rooney. Sometimes when we look at our players at the end of a match and see '2pts' it is (naturally) disappointing but it does not always show the full picture. Looking ahead, Mata's next 4 fixtures are:
Sunderland (A)
Burnley (A)
QPR (H)
Leicester (A)
United face each of the 3 promoted sides after Sunderland, by which time RVP should be soon returning. Mata's next big haul could easily come as soon as Sunderland this weekend, especially since he is the key creative ingredient in a United team fighting to set the record straight. Lets also remember (as if we could forget!) that this is a team without the distraction of the European competitions allowing them to fully concentrate on the Premier League each and every weekend - as Liverpool were able to do last season.
Alternatively there is Fábregas:
Leicester (H)
Everton (A)
Swansea (H)
Man City (A)
Some tough fixtures away at Goodison and the Etihad over the next 4 weeks which will could easily push Cesc into more of a holding role during this period. I also see more of the attacking output being shared amongst the team with Shürrle, Oscar, Hazard, Costa and Fab all fighting for their share of the attacking points.
Personally, I'm going to stay strong with the original team I chose and keep Mata, saving x2FT's for whatever may happen next week once the picture is a little clearer. Rooney/Mata and Terry/Costa is enough for me from either team for now anyway without upsetting the team balance this early on.
Hope this helps some of you make your mind up, but good luck whatever your decision!Open Controls-
I think if you copy and paste the entire of the above link into your browser it should work (for some reason part of it broke off)
Open Controls -
tl;dr I have both anyway 😉
Open Controls -
Until Rvp returns and takes setpieces from Mata...
Open Controls-
I actually think RVP's return will enhance Mata's attacking output tremendously, as he will be providing key passes to two world class strikers rather than Hernandez and Welbeck, etc.
So, RVP's return only works in Mata's favour in my eyes, regardless of set pieces.Open Controls

Mata (c) gw2
Open Controls-
Sounds tempting!
Open Controls
-
-
The biggest differential is Chelsea have what looks like a v g, poss title winning side, whereas Utd are total, complete. & utter sh*te so the fixtures are not as important.
Open Controls-
I don't think that matters as much as you think - United were under David Moyes last season barely keeping hold of 7th place, yet plenty still had Rooney and/or Mata in their teams who brought home the points.
Open Controls
-
-
Thanks for the input, I have the same combos, I am going to hold on Mata against Sunderland and hope for a big haul.
Open Controls-
Great - glad to hear it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed 😀

Doos,
Vaz Te's minutes over next 5 weeks.
Should play?Open Controls-
Mmm. Depends on both Enner and the Zarate Kid. Don't hold your breath.

Oh *^&% off Millwall
Open Controls -
Hazard > Fab before the price rise?
Open Controls -
Yes, Malmö just lost 1-2, sweden could finally get a team in CL again. Rememember Ifk Gothenburgs beating of united, milan, barca etc in the 90's. They also won yhe uefa cup 82 and 87. This was SO important for swedish club footy
Open Controls-
beat Dundee United in the final if I remember rightly
Open Controls-
Yep in 87, Hamburg in 82, i was 8 years old and threw a pillow on the tele, mom had a vase of flowers standing on tele, it turned over, water in tele. Dad was less then happy and we had to listen to rest of the final on radio
