Dugout Discussion – Everton vs Arsenal

Saturday’s schedule concludes with the headline act. Arsenal make the trip to Goodison Park looking to build on the stuttering 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on the opening day. The Toffees meanwhile, will also be looking to improve on their first showing, having been pegged back to 2-2 by newly promoted Leicester a week ago.

Arsene Wenger rings the changes with a few surprises. He welcomes back two of his German contingent as Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker return to the starting lineup. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also starts, while Nacho Monreal comes in for Kieran Gibbs at the back. Santi Cazorla and Laurent Koscielney drop to the bench, with Calum Chambers retaining his start at the back. Olivier Giroud again starts from the bench with Alexis Sanchez set to be fielded in a central attacking role.

Roberto Martinez also tweaks his lineup with Seamus Coleman and Kevin Mirallas drafted in – John Stones and Aiden McGeady make way.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        just need the $$$$ will play 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 (with or without naismith) depending if another flavour of the week emerges and ill take -4. the $$$ is just insurance while waiting for more info on what to do...

        would like to get remy, but another blank and i might get into a situation where he drops...

      Has anyone heard if Lukaku actually's got a problem in his foot in the post-game interviews? I'm seriously considering upgrading Giroud to him. If he's healthy he's bound to go after Chealsea the first chance he gets, right?

      My mini league feels a million times harder than it did last year. Everyone's teams are absolutely solid. Is this just because there are more good picks this season? Are the good picks just more obvious? Is everyone starting to use sites like this one? Going to be a tough season.

        Assuming the Di Maria transfer does go through, who do you think will turn out to be the best summer signing?

        Also, do you think the PL has gained more quality this season with the players or has it deteriorated?

          Depends what period of time you're looking at it over. I would back Sanchez to make the biggest impact this season.

          I think it lost a better player than any that came in but has improved in depth.
