Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 4

As always on a Monday afternoon, we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Arsenal
Mathieu Debuchy was forced off with an ankle injury in Saturday lunchtime’s draw with City. Arsene Wenger is set to address the press later today amid fears the Frenchman could be sidelined for months.

Burnley
The Clarets’ forward Danny Ings was subbed off with a hamstring problem in the weekend draw at Palace, while Matty Taylor missed out altogether due to injury, allowing George Boyd to make his debut on the left of midfield.

Chelsea
Didier Drogba missed the Blues’ home win over Swansea after injuring an ankle during training.

Crystal Palace
Neil Warnock confirmed Joe Ledley sustained a hip injury in the Palace dugout and was unable to take to the field against Burnley. The Palace boss also revealed Wilfried Zaha was lucky to make the match after picking up an ankle injury in training.

Everton
Sylvain Distin missed the Toffees’ win at West Brom due to a dead leg, though Roberto Martinez confirmed earlier today that the defender is on course to feature against Wolfsburg in the Europa League on Thursday.

Leicester
Foxes number one Kasper Schmeichel missed Saturday’s win at Stoke after sustaining a minor knee problem on international duty with Denmark.

Stoke
The Potters’ left-back Erik Pieters was forced off with an unspecified injury in the latter stages of Saturday’s home loss to Leicester.

Swansea
Jordi Amat is set for knee scans after picking up a problem in the weekend loss to Chelsea – the defender left Stamford Brigde with his leg in a brace.

Tottenham
Jan Vertonghen was omitted from the weekend trip to Sunderland after picking up a minor muscle injury.

West Brom
Stephane Sessegnon was ruled out of the weekend home loss to Everton after sustaining an eye injury in training.

    Asking again..who to bench?

    a) Caulker
    b) PvA
    c) Clyne
    d) Naylor

I know football is on, but it's WHU vs. Hull and the player most us have is benched, so….

Any reasons to pick Clyne over Bertrand or Vice Versa? I am dropping Debuchy and going to pick up either of the 2, leaning towards Bertrand just to bank some extra points, any real reason to go Clyne instead? Both are nailed right?

Hypothetically, of you were to wildcard now, what would your front 3 be?

      *if

I would probably go with Kun, Costa and Rooney, with Pellè a possibility too.

      Costa-Rooney-Pelle/Naismith

I'm wildcarding right now. It's a fix for Costa and Kun and a tough call between Lukaku, Pelle and Ulloa, depending on what I decide for other positions

I'm debating Siggy right now. I think Chadli is hitting his stride right now, its a tough call.

    Costa > Jovetic
    Jovetic > Costa
    Mata > Sterling

Amazing to think if I'd left those transfers alone I'd be up considerable points with transfers used on gash players I no longer want.

Pre-season thoughts...(Hmmm, maybe I should get Eric Dier...)

    GW 1 - 15 points
    GW 2 - 14 points

    I pick him up.

    GW 3 - 1 point
    GW 4 - 0 points

    I hate fantasy football.

What happens if I use my WC this week after already using my FT yesterday? Will I get my FT back? Thanks

After wildcarding, next week you will have 1 FT.

Thanks. So does that mean my already used FT will not be rolled over next week even if I WC now?

Yeah, regardless of whether you had one or two FTs used or unused before wildcarding; everyone has 1 FT the week after.

    Repost from before.

So, I have this team in a 10 person draft fantasy league. Squad size is 16 people. And I've absolutely killed it with my draft picks followed by some crazy wheeling and dealing.

    Anyway, here's the team:

    Forster - Adrian
Vertonghen - Toby Alderwerald - Pieters - PvA - Rafael
    Fabregas - Eriksen - Sterling - Yaya - Siggy - Walcott
    Rooney - Balotelli - Adebayor

Had Debuchy and Jones but decided to drop them after the injuries. Hurt my defense pretty bad. I'm tempted of making a Balo + Siggy offer for Aguero - would you do that in my place?

lucky all the Chester owners points on the bench

    So my WC then...

    Forster>Heaton evens
    Chester>Moreno +1
    Blackett>Bertrand +5
    Wisdom>Alderweireld +6
    Hutton>Moore +1
    Ramsey>AdM +9
    Hazard>Sterling -1
    Albrighton>Boyd +2
    Sturridge>Aguero(C) +12
    Jovetic>Welbeck +2

10 transfers in yielding 37 points on my transfers out. Also swapped Rooney out and brought him back in at a penny less. Saved/gained a total of .6m and am on my way to gaining more while others fall. Only regret is Moreno. Wish I'd kept Blackett. And no, I was never bringing in Costa. Was always planning to see how he goes against City first.

Why need to see how Costa did against City? That's the next best team away in the league, hardest game of the season and no reflection on other games? The guys a goal machine most essential on here regardless of one game???? Silly excuse for not having him

In years gone by, i have swooped in on price rises early in the season at the cost of some sizable hits then come back strong as the season progressed. The new price system has been very unkind to me - my terrible start has no silver lining of a valuable team. I do, however, find myself unsure what to do next. any advice would be much appreciated.

    Krul----Myhill
    Rojo----Lovren----Clyne----Coloccini----N. Taylor
    Sanchez----Hazard----Sterling----Sigurdsson----Boyd
    Rooney----Balotelli----Naismith

    1 FT 1.0 ITB

    - I'm thinking of getting rid of Naismith after this coming gameweek, possibly for welbeck/pelle
    - Not convinced on the Costa train with the chelsea fixtures to come although he could be a better option than hazard
