The Big Numbers – Gameweek 8

With West Brom and Man United set to see out the Gameweek tomorrow, we delve into the data from the nine matches played so far. Unsurprisingly, Man City, Southampton and West Ham’s in-form front men are on this evening’s agenda, whilst we also cast an eye over a couple of improving north London-based midfielders.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Begovic, N Taylor & Sterling > Guzan, Baines & Chadli sounds like some good transfers imo.
    Not for -12p though 🙁

      No, don't take out Sterling. That's a really bad idea. He's their best player, and will be one of the top scoring midfielders this season.

    Opinions please.

    Play Kelly away to WBA, or use FT to ditch PvA For chambers/Kaboul/hutton?

    When do we think Costa will be back? Anyone considering selling him? He has such a huge ownership, I think it's time for a differential. It's just that QPR fixture in a couple of weeks stopping me pressing the button.

      nobody really knows, but I think he'll play against united.

      Yes, that's the problem. I want to switch him to Aguero this week. But then I might at the last minute next week bring Costa back for Aguero for just that one Gw, then back to Aguero. But only if he's confirmed as fit against QPR. However, seems a bit too much of an easy game to really risk Costa.

    Am I mad to be thinking Naismith & Costa - Welbeck & Sakho?

    This isn't based on the Costa injury, more a mix of form/fixtures... Just really feel like Welbeck is gonna have a big week in these easy next few games. Plus Naismith is really winding me up.

    I have Cesc/Ivan from Chelsea already, but Costa is basically a goal a game...

    Ivanovic and Costa > Filipe Luis and Aguero -4

    Thoughts on this? I think it's worth it if Filipe Luis replaces Azpil for longer than the two PL games he's suspended for. So it's a risk in that sense, but I think Luis is the better defender, and Jose's been waiting for Azpil to make a mistake before taking him out.

      maybe it's a good transfer. But Jose has not "been waiting for Azpi to make a mistake to take him out". He loves him. He adores his work rate and attitude. He'll be back in the starting 11 once the ban is over.

        It may depend on how Luis performs over the three games (incl league cup). I'll have 1.1 itb though, so can always bring in Azpil if he does indeed return. I'm a bit loathe to get rid of Ivanovic, but I do already have Baines, so perhaps it's time to let Ivanovic go.

    Sterling and Dzeko out for Aguero and Wanyama?

    Have to sell one of Sterling, Cesc or ADM to get Kun in..

        They're not that bad, yes they have Chelsea, City and Arsenal in their next 4 but after the first 2 of those games you can then say they have Palace, Hull and Stoke at home in 3 of their 4 fixtures. I wouldn't sell ADM.

    how should I use my 2FT? Currently in the top 2,000 but feel like I need Tadic or Pelle to come in...

    Guzan

    Ivan Bert Naylor

    ADM Fab Sterling Siggy

    Costa Kun Sakho

    (Hamer, Duff, Moore, Boyd)

    a) Siggy/COsta --> Tadic/Pelle + 1.8
    b) ADM/Sakho ---> Tadic /Pelle
    c) Fab/Sakho ---> Chadli/Pelle + 0.6
    d) Naylor/Costa ---> Baines/Pelle + 0.4
    e) something else

    102 with ADM(c) is quite ok I reckon, could have been much better though.

      Important information

      No assist was given for the second Man Utd goal as the ball fell to Blind via an interception from Lescott.

    Haven't done my WC yet, but I'm tempted to.

    De Gea (Myhill)

    Chambers, Baines, Clyne (Wisdom, O'Shea)

    Siggy, Fabregas, Sterling, Silva, Tadic

    Costa, Pelle (Zamora)

    Here are my planned changes,

    a) DDG -> Guzan
    Silva -> Boyd
    Siggy -> ~5.6m Midfielder.
    Zamora -> Aguero

    Is this worth the WC? Otherwise I can just do Zamora -> Berahino with a FT.

    Need at least 5 changes I reckon to warrant using WC
