The Fantasy Football Scout Mondogoal lineup earned prize money for the third consecutive week last time out. With another £1,000 prize pot on offer this weekend, we’re on hand to reveal our hand and help you get your share.

Mondogoal is a daily and weekly Fantasy Football game – a brand new offering for this season. It not only allows you to play contests based on the Premier League but also all the major top-flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS). You can even play global contests that span across all the leagues. Mondogoal also supports contests for Champions League and Europa League in midweek.

Mondogoal is still offering all new users that sign up through Fantasy Football Scout a 200% bonus on their first deposit (max £500 in bonus money). Bonus is awarded as a 4% cash back on every game you play.

What’s more, Mondogoal also have four featured contests this week with an array of prizes on offer, along with their usual fill of head-to-head match-ups and cash tournaments.

For Gameweek 13 Mondogoal are offering:

  • £100 Weekly Free Kick – No entry fee, no catch. Just pick your best 11 for free and finish in the top 13 to win a share of the pot.
  • £1000 Guaranteed – For a £5 entry you can be in the mix for a share of the big prize pot. Mondogoal even pay out if the contest fails to fill up.

If you want more details on how to play the game, we’ve previously published a comprehensive strategy guide, offering tips to help you get started. Read on for our analysis of the weekend fixtures and the key men being considered for the Fantasy Football Scout lineup…

Saturday’s Picks

Gameweek 13 is all about value, with a host of teams providing some prime cuts at knockdown prices, paving the way for some investment in reliable heavy-hitters.

Burnley go into their home clash with Villa off the back of consecutive wins and with striker Danny Ings firing. At 9.4, Ings is inevitably a prime contender for a spot in our Mondogoal forward line and, given that Villa have just two goals in their last eight league outings, we also have to consider Kieran Trippier at the back. The former City man continues to raid forward for the Clarets and has delivered a credible 6.23 points per game (ppg) to this point. If you’re scratching around for funds, I’d also consider George Boyd in midfield – available for just 5.6, he’s gathered more points from tackles than any other Burnley player.

QPR are another side who present some strong options at the budget end of the market. While striker Charlie Austin will set you back a steep 12.5 million, we like the cut of Steven Caulker’s (5.7m) jib as an option in our defence. A potent threat at set-plays, Caulker will also be up against a Leicester side with just a single goal in their last five. That statistic also has us look to R’s keeper, Rob Green, available for just 6.0 million.

Liverpool’s Anfield clash with Stoke doesn’t look a temptation as a source of Mondgoal points but there is some value on offer here. Stoke arrive on Merseyside without the influence of Chelsea loanee Victor Moses and, although Brendan Rodgers’ charges are low on confidence, there are some keenly priced prospects on offer. We’re tempted to back a home clean sheet with investment in Martin Skrtel – he can be acquired for 5.4 million. Raheem Sterling, at 8.7 million, also has to remain on our radar – only Eden Hazard has earned more Mondogoal points from fouls won.

Manchester United are another side facing what appears to be a home banker, with struggling Hull the visitors to Old Trafford. The likes of Tyler Blackett (5.2m), Chris Smalling (6.0m) and Paddy McNair (6.6m) are all available at a premium. Indeed, with so much value available from defenders this weekend, the switch to four at the back in our Mondogoal lineups is a real consideration.

Antonio Valencia is another player we have earmarked from United’s squad – he can be picked up for just 4.3 million, despite earning the assist for the opener at the Emirates last time out. Valencia has won more tackles than any other United player this season (25).

Chelsea may well be away from home at Sunderland but have to be backed to continue their run of victories. While Eden Hazard’s goal record on the road is a disappointment, Diego Costa has to remain a target for our strike force, even at 13.1 million. There is value elsewhere, however, with Branislav Ivanovic once again somewhat underpriced at 6.8 million.

Swansea’s buoyant form looks unlikely to be de-railed by the visit of Crystal Palace, with Wilfried Bony the top temptation on offer. The Ivorian is not only the Swans’ major goal threat, he’s also drawn 29 fouls so far this season – more than any other forward in the Premier League. Gylfi Sigurdsson (12.1m), is, as always, an influence in midfield to consider. Meanwhile, at the back, Kyle Bartley at just 5.1 million is yet another potential filler for our defence.

With so many injuries throughout the West Ham squad, we’re hesitant when it comes to potential Mondogoal targets. Overall, the Hammers clash with Newcastle looks to be one to avoid.

Sunday’s Picks

Southampton’s clash with champions City is a classic defence vs attack encounter, as the strongest rearguard in the Premier League attempts to shackle Sergio Aguero. The Argentine always has to be a consideration for our lineup, although with a huge 17.0 million price tag this weekend, this is surely a time to look elsewhere. We’re not confident on plucking any targets from the St Mary’s fixture – aside from the pricey Aguero, there are no obvious in-form sources on show.

Tottenham’s meeting with Everton at the Lane looks equally hard to call. Christian Eriksen’s form warrants our attention and, at 11.2 million, he’s in line for a spot in our four-man midfield. Kevin Mirallas (9.8m) and Ross Barkley (9.1m) are also names to consider. Neither of these defences are worthy of investment, however, while Leighton Baines remains an injury doubt.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
