The Weekend Team News

Aaron Ramsey is sidelined with a hamstring injury for Arsenal. Ron Vlaar could return for Villa’s derby clash with the Baggies. Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel has been ruled out with a broken foot, Toby Alderweireld is back for Southampton’s trip to Burnley, whilst Steven Fletcher is back in contention as Sunderland entertain West Ham.

Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny have been ruled out of Arsenal’s home clash with Newcastle. Mathieu Flamini has shrugged off a midweek calf complaint, though Calum Chambers is set to serve a one-match suspension for the Gunners.

Ron Vlaar and Fabian Delph will be assessed after returning to training ahead of Villa’s derby clash with West Brom. Ashley Westwood is ruled out for a month with a knee injury, whilst Tom Cleverley remains doubtful after picking up a foot injury last weekend.

Michael Duff remains a doubt with a calf complaint for Burnley, whilst Matt Taylor is “weeks away” from returning. Sam Vokes is still not ready for a first-team outing, though stepped up his recovery with a 90-minute run-out for the reserves in midweek.

Kasper Schmeichel is sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a broken metatarsal in training. Leonardo Ulloa has recovered from the knock that forced him off last weekend, whilst Dean Hammond is also back in contention after recent injury.

Jak Alnwick is set for an extended period between the sticks for Newcastle after Rob Elliot joined Tim Krul on the sidelines with a thigh injury. Alan Pardew has admitted “We are pretty much where we were for Chelsea in terms of injuries,” though Davide Santon and Rolando Aarons have stepped up their recovery from injury.

Toby Alderweireld is back in Southampton’s squad after recovering quickly from a hamstring injury. Morgan Schneiderlin is a major doubt but will travel with the squad, whilst James Ward Prowse is also included for the trip to Burnley.

Marc Muniesa is a “big doubt” for Stoke’s trip to Palace. Potters boss Mark Hughes is optimistic that Jon Walters will overcome a knee knock in time to feature.

Steven Fletcher is ”fully fit” for Sunderland’s home encounter with West Ham, Gus Poyet has confirmed. Billy Jones and Emmanuele Giaccherini have trained but the weekend will come too soon for the pair.

Chris Brunt remains sidelined for West Brom’s clash with Villa due to a hamstring problem. Stephane Sessegnon has recovered from a calf complaint, whilst Alan Irvine has also revealed Youssouf Mulumbu has shrugged off an ankle problem for the derby.

Mark Noble is still unavailable for the Hammers due to an Achilles injury. Sam Allardyce confirmed “other than that, we don’t seem to have too many problems” – a sign that Carl Jenkinson has overcome the hamstring problem that forced him off last weekend.

drog as in drogba? imo you better find another striker because as long as costa is fit, he will only play for 20 minutes 😉

Yes Drog as in Drogba who else!? He looked good at Newcastle and shoud get more game time over the packed xmas schedule.

Plus a lot of Costa owners on here concerned on him being a non-starter against Hull after playing 90 mins in champs league.

      How much ITB?

Good looking squad, a bit Soton heavy. I'd probably downgrade one of Clyne/Bertie and upgrade Drogba.

    Currently:

    Fabianski/Krul
    Hutton/Terry/Clyne/Janmaat/Wisdom
    Sanchez/Fabregas/Chadli/Boyd/Siggy
    Costa/Aguero/Kane

    Got 2ft and 0.3 ITB.

    Aguero ---> Bony
    Chadli ---> ???

Suggestions welcome. I'm willing to take the hit on no keeper this week to get in a decent striker/mid combo to replace Aguero and Chadli.

I'd want City coverage. Can you afford Yaya? Hazard?

No, can't afford him. Too early for Silva I'm thinking and Nasri is a bit hit or miss

Thinking of upgrading Boydinho with my Kun savings. Who's a better shout - Eriksen, Nasri, Silva or other? Can't get Yaya without a hit.

    My team:

    Guzan/4.0
    Baines/Terry/Naylor/Hutton/Yun
    Alexis/Hazard/Siggy/Downing/Boyd
    Costa/Dzeko/Austin

between yaya toure, sanchez and rooney, who would you give the captaincy to?

yaya is against leicester but they are a great team at home
sanchez's form is not quite convincing since he is moved to the flanks
rooney does have a great record against liverpool but i'm not convinced

    help please .-.

    PANTI - 4.4

    West Ham (H)
    Newcastle (A)
    Hull (H)
    Aston Villa (A)
    Man City (A)

    ALNWICK - 4.0

    Arsenal (A)
    Sunderland (H)
    Man Utd (A)
    Everton (H)
    Burnley (H)

I am finding it hard to justify that extra 0.4M.

Yeah, but @ 0.4M more... And with 3 away, instead of 3 home... It's hard for me to justify before WC.

Already having a -8.. Does it worth to change Chadli to someone else?

0.2 itb and front 8 is:

    Ameobi/chadli/yaya/haz
    Bony/rooney/costa

    Or do it next week?

Courtois ruled out and no FT.

Can anyone suggest a keeper worthy of producing a CS to benefit from a -4 point hit?
