    Giroud or Benteke?
Giroud has better fix this week, Benteke long term + should get more minutes and on penalties.

    Silva or ADM?
Silva has better fixtures, but ADM should start all of next three.

Thanks, looks like it's either Silva & Giroud or Benteke & ADM then.
      Not sure which one tough.

If Siggy is fit, might go for Sakho, Costa => Benteke, Giroud after all.

I dont see how you got any favorites from those comments everyone seems to have a differing opinion... Great question though... I think Giroud's fixture against QPR is tempting, and he does supremely well at home but long term I would go Tekkers.

I've done Silva and Giroud then I'm going to switch Bony for Benteke next week. Bony still has a good fixture this week and should be back after being rested.

Yeah but Benteke is playing in arguably one of the poorest sides in the league, and the lowest scoring one. Sure, his being missing is partly to blame for that but Villa will never, ever tonk anyone so he'll just be sneaking a goal here and there.

Silva will play every match. Too many injuries for Pellegrini to tinker. Only ones at risk of rotation are Clichy/Zab/Kolarov/Sagna.

    Pantilimon
    N.Taylor - Hutton - Clyne
    Fabregas - Sanchez - Hazard - Sigurdsson
    Austin - Costa -Van Persie

    Guzan - 1.Boyd - 2.Duff - 3.Wisdom

    0.0 itb, 0 FTs left 🙁

I have doubts over the following starting due to injury and rests: Hazard, Siggurdson, Sanchez, Costa.

Seeing how my team would collapse with that bench, where do you think a -4 hit is necessary to improve depth and starters? :/

    Here goes my unpopular opinion..

Sanchez getting rested is a myth on these boards..
Absolutely no concrete evidence, no sources

Pure speculation based on his performance. Yes he looked weary and its an entirely possible that he may be rested but there may be another explanation.

He had a huge birthday bash on Fri for his 26th birthday, him and Arsenal were clearly hungover. I'm dead serious not trying to be funny.

Most importantly, I think Wenger sticking him on the wings limits him drastically (especially the left flank which is not his natural position and you can tell it affects him)
No coincidence that Giroud coming back along with having Cazorla in a central position, has affected his output. Alexis is at his best when is allowed to roam.

In addition, the Chilean media had reported a few weeks back (during internation break) that he was particularly looking forward to playing this fixture against his Chilean teammates at QPR (Isla and Vargas) This is not Galatasaray after already qualifying for the knockout round in the CL.

I don't think Wenger can afford to rest him right now, he doesn't have Ramsey or Wilshere. He clearly doesn't trust Campbell and probably too stubborn to start Podolski.

Hopefully we will get more concrete information later in the week, but I honestly would be surprised if he doesn't start.

this - he won't be rested. would be madness especially against a QPR that are finding their goalscoring rhythm (charlie austin is at least) so they need as much attacking prowess as they can get because god knows they can't defend

I know he got recalled, so he is just going to jump everyone else in the starting lineup?
Wenger only put him last 10 min to try and secure the win and didn't work out so well.

You make a good case BUT there are 3 games in a short space of time, 1 is at home which in fairness should be a formality, the 2 aways are against teams Arsenal are fighting with for a CL space, unless he plans to play him in all 3 then you have to look at it logically without fantasy emotion and think which games he is needed for most.

Obviously it's all speculation, Walcott also needs a game, do you play him at home to a team without a point away or against 2 teams that will leave it all on the pitch to try and take that 4th spot?

Wenger can't afford to rest him, he can't afford for him to get injured either and he's played a lot of games, there is no window for a rest other than this and FA Cup weekend.

Walcott is def an option but unfortunately we don't have much update on his status either. Just pointing out that it's mainly all rumors and nothing is for certain. Wenger hasn't been particularly good about rotating his players either. Guess we'll only find out this Friday.

Are there any press conferences today?

Seriously tempted to turn Boyd into Walcott to cover both possibilities.

Walcott can easily turn into Silva the following week if it goes wrong.

Resting players over the Xmas period really isn't Wenger's MO is it. He didn't do it last year except where injury forced his hand. We don't know about two years ago as they had no Boxing Day match, but look at RVP's last season. If ever a forward needed a rest, it was RVP playing every minute going into Xmas, but there he was, playing every game over Xmas nonetheless.

I honestly don't know Ruberx. He may start and get subbed early, surely he won't play 90 in both of the next two games. For now, the doubt around him starting has made me look elsewhere for the captaincy, but if he starts then surely he's a great captain for the week. Sometimes us FPL addicts try to second guess the actual managers, and it doesn't always end well 🙂

    What are Hazard owners doing?
Lets assume Mourinho says something along the lines of "its a sore one, he has a chance to play but we will see"
2 away games follow west ham and dont really want someone that expensive sitting on bench.
Winter wildcard soon so can get him back easily enough.
For me transfer out is the best thing to do unless of course he is confirmed fit

    1. Klopp's Kids

The way i've set up my team, downing would be on the bench the next 2 games anyway - so probably just play Downing as most of ML rivals will be playing Downing anyway.

Might consider getting Fab in for Siggy GW18 if it looks like Haz will sit out a few GWs, but definitely not selling.

In short - make use of my squad. It's deep enough.

ive currently got Sanchez as captain this week. I see talk on the boards of a potential rest. Seeing as I had the epic fail of a bony captain this week which, had I went elsewhere for the captaincy could've seen a very decent ranking for Christmas, I'm wondering if I should go for a safer choice.

So do we think Sanchez will really get the rest or should Costa be given the armband. I've brought in di Maria this week aswell but I think it's too soon to give him the armband

i don't see why any one of these should be thrown out because of a rest. If they are rested for boxing day then surely they'll be back after so are people then considering to get them back? Seems a waste to me. Most players will be rested for one of the following 3 anyway so imo it is best to just stick with those players. Aim for all should not be 3 great GWs in a row but instead 2 out of 3 good GWs.

Van Gaal doesn't want his Dutch pal to get bullied at the Britannia, and think he will get mins against both Newcastle and Tottenham.

Re. Rx's post. I think he'll start. The ffs collective have a habit of coming to conclusions about rest and rotation based on nothing more that swapping thought bubbles and assumptions that somehow gain authority with every nod in agreement, soon enough it becomes dogma through repitition. You could say it's a bit religilous 😉
Obviously wenger is worried about burn out but i expect that will be managed through early withdrawals when possible.
Of course he was buggered at anfield. He will never give up the chase that's just his style. I was the same when i played. Chased everything on instinct. Never conserved energy. In a game where the opposition keeps possession AND attacks all game the chasers pay the price. What he has going for him is unbelievable stamina and fitness. He's been playing through a niggling groin injury all season.
Start more likely than not imo.

      Thanks for posting this Champ
It's only my first season so I'm not familiar with the habits of some people on these boards. I trust that you have experienced similar scenarios in past seasons.

I def agree with your point on his style could induce a burnout. I've been watching him for a long time, and one of the things that he has struggled throughout his career is being able to sustain enough energy for the last 10-15 mins of the game (the most crucial time period) Maybe playing in England this year will make him realize this.
