With the gameweek over and wilcards flying, here's a refresh of the way I rank the league's defences.
It's determined by a side's average position amongst the 20 teams for clean sheets and goals, big chances and shots in the box conceded this season. It may not be the most accurate or helpful measure, but as I was doing it anyway for my own purposes, I thought I'd share it again.

- Chelsea and Southampton remain the two best defences in the league, with Man City a fairly distant third.
- Better displays from Arsenal and Liverpool see them move up the rankings, whilst United drop slightly in the other direction.
- The Pulis effect is already observable, though it was only Hull at home. West Brom on the rise.
- Villa, Sunderland, Palace and Hull all hold steady, looking decent value and solid bets, providing the fixtures are good. Also as you were for West Ham - perhaps not worth their price tags.
- Stoke drop down a bit after having a rough time of it at the Emirates, whilst Swansea have also taken a bit of a tumble.
- The bottom six remain the same. Newcastle are Burnley are poor, if not disastrous. Tottenham and Everton have been real underperformers, and whilst Everton showed signs of life, Spurs looked very leaky again. Leicester were muc better at the back (if only against Villa), and leapfrog QPR to come off the bottom of this table.

Nope, they're a very defensive side when they want to be, good at grabbing 0-0s against weak opposition. Scoring goals is their real problem.

I disagree. Beeing a star in the eresdivisie and becoming world class doesnt come for free. And when you compare Suarez under Kenny and then under Brenda theres clearly a difference, and i dont think that came just from changing cereals.
