This evening, we look back on the nail-biting final and announce the latest winner of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power. We also see who claims the third place play-off prize.

With a Gameweek 24 score of 61, CMIFLFC won a close final against Momalpashands and joins donnellyc, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05, Gribude and myself in our winners hall of fame.

Both our finalists had already played their wildcards but 2,473rd ranked CMIFLFC prevailed thanks to a defence that included Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and Swansea right-back Kyle Naughton.

Momalpashands, who has an overall rank of 428, was just eight points away but his transfer of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho in for the injured Arsenal midfielder Alexis Sanchez, as well as a defence that included Manchester United Phil Jones, fell short at the final hurdle.

Congratulatons to CMIFLFC, who wins £100 worth of free bets with Paddy Power as well as a £100 Amazon voucher. As runner-up, Momalpashands wins £50 worth of Paddy Power free bets and a £50 Amazon voucher.

Meanwhile, our third placed play-off was even closer with Bobbyg scoring 61, whilst 241,362nd ranked Harts Hotspurs close behind with 58. Both played their wildcards but despite Harts Hotspurs captaining Harry Kane and fielding Branislav Ivanovic, bobbyg’s more consistent scoring across all positions was enough to give him the edge. Bobbyg also had Swansea’s Naughton – who earned an assist – to thank as he claims the third place play-off price of £50 worth of free bets and a £25 Amazon voucher.

In addition bobbyg, who has an overall rank of 542, and CMIFLC win a further £25 worth of free bets for getting the highest score of the round.

Right now the wc window has closed, what do you consider to be your best successes and your biggest blunders.

For me my biggest successes lie with Sunderland, getting Panti and Defoe in has worked out pretty well

As for my blunders, 2 stand out massively. Selling Kane for Pelle, and getting Jones over Fonte

Ozil, Mane & (incredibly) Mee I'd list among my successes.

ADM, Shackell & (even more incredibly) Aguero seem to have been blunders.

Mamadou Sakho is my success, 3 clean sheets in 3 since I got him.
My biggest blunders lie in midfield with ADM and Chadli.

I got talked in to keeping Austin instead of getting Defoe.

And I sold Hutton instead of Wisdom for Zouma.
Zouma may still work out but sold the wrong player I fear.

Biggest success: dumping Sanchez for Cazorla
Biggest blunder: Foster/Myhill looks less clever now

Biggest success - taking a punt on Mane and avoiding the Carzola-wagon. Biggest blunder - a bit early to say, but probably splashing out on City and Chelsea captains with three cheapies and not making room for a mid-price Southampton defender.

Successes: Getting Mane, not being swayed against the template front 3

Blunders: Keeping Di Maria, Foster as the 2nd goalkeeper to rotate with Panti(although he/west brom could still come good again)

        Mane was a superb call

But for ACON I'd have got him and kept Kane instead of Puncheon and Pelle

        Time to rectify that one

The template front 3 of Kane, Kun, Giroud will serve you well, but the likes of Defoe, Sturridge, even Cisse could prove useful differentials

Defoe = Not sure Sunderland are gonna score too many, but yes, he's likely to be the one that does it when they do.

Sturridge = Would like him, but seems a bit pricey and Liverpool still have tricky fixtures

Cisse = Depends when Carver starts naming him in the XI, even still, will be a rotation worry i think.

I guess my biggest blunder was using the WC well before I had to because of the Aguero factor, with the Costa suspension and Sanchez injury things went pear shaped fast.

I wild carded early in order to afford an awesome team including -

Costa, Aguero, Sanchez, Di Maria, Hazard,

Had to rearrange my defence so I sold Baines and Moreno for Clyne and Bertrand.- Lot of points lost as a result.

and then Costa got banned which meant it was all for nothing.

Blunders - getting ADM, getting Fabregas for the first time, thinking it was a good idea to get Heaton, getting Cameron. Not switching out Sanchez sooner, not getting more Arsenal players. Keeping Austin. Getting a 3M+ GW rank after using the WC.

Success - getting Kane, PVA and Panti

      Went for a defence of
Cahill Debuchy Gardos ,it was the week Debuchy got injured and Cahill was dropped , Chelsea and Arsenal both kept CS (after Debuchy injured 12 minutes ) , had to ship all 3 following week ended up taking a 32 hit after losing interest on the game after a family death, no success, dropped from 2k to 11k, slowly getting back to where I was though 🙂

      Success: getting Walters back in
Failures: Kane out for Pelle an hour before deadline, benching Walters and waiting nervously for Sanchez to not play, getting ADM

Great sucess on the WC, http://www.recaption.com/uploads/181125060ac4dcf7a3.jpg
Would have to to getting Clichy and his 2 BAPs, went from 2 points to a respectable 4 like pie

Blunder so far, - speculating that Silva's appeal and potential would be dented when Pell goes back to 442 when Bony comes back. I was stupid enough not to check the team news tab before I finalized my team and the day after, I subsequently realized the predicted lineup had a fit Dzeko in 442 and Silva...on the wing. FFS.

The plan on my WC always consisted of having enough money ITB(1.4 ITB) to do Silva--->Sanchez after Hull. Yet now Silva has blanked and is in danger of falling, and somehow Sanchez may rise before the deadline tomorrow leaving me short of a straight swap. Will have to resort to a hit to take Silva out for Sanchez now and now both Cazorla and Countiho may be in danger of getting the bench boot.

I have Pellè over Kane, but to be honest, based on the last two fixtures it's been more bad luck than bad judgement. Pellè in week 27 will be handy.

well I basically wildcarded the second week in order to get Aguero and Kane in but in the process I ruined my defense choosing to go heavy in midfield and very light at the back (Gardos, Cameron, Wasilevski) even though that last one brought me a goal from the bench

Pelle has been a real wounder, especially as I captained him at home to Swansea.

Don't see Giroud getting a rest, nobody can do his job. Wenger seems to be happier to take him off after 65-70 mins when the game is won than give him a full rest.

        1. He's knackered
        2. With Sanchez, Ozil and Walcott regaining fitness his gametime will suffer from rotation now I think. I never thought of him as other than a fairly short term option. He either leaves my team in GW 26 or GW 28.

Who would u pick for the 5.5 mid?

Will it be a 4th or 5th mid? If 5th and you're feeling like a flutter, look at Ibe for LFC!

        Midfield/Forwards will be -

        Giroud - Kun - Kane

    i badly want defoe.

any sense in dropping any of aguero, kane, & giroud in order to make it happen?

Kane to Defoe could make sense if you don't have much value locked up in Kane. But you'd need him back for GW 28.

I think maybe you are being caught up in the defoe hype. There is always hype around one player every gameweek where people insist he is going to score massively.

Aguero is world class, he can score massively at any moment. I would have him over defoe every week

yeah... i just looked at his record over last 8 seasons & reminded myself that he's 30-something & playing for a mediocre side.

but, what can i say, sometimes a knee's just gotta jerk.

he's a good option don't get me wrong however I would never lose aguero for him - no way!

Sunderland are not the most attacking side, Defoe has basically had to go and make goals out of nothing. He doesn't really get much supply from what I have seen anyway.

He can probably do ok next 2 but don't lose aguero for him.

Downgrading to Baird would give me the option of upgrading Puncheon to Eriksen come the DGW.

    Foster Myhill

    Azpi Naughton PVA Triipier Pieters

    HAz Sanchez Theo Silva Boyd

    Aguero Kane Giroud

    2 FT , 0.1 ITB

If theo and sanchez start : pieters to wolscheid ? not sure when pieters coming back... or slva to mane?

If just theo starts and sanchez on bench : play sanchez i guess so same scenario as above

If sanchez starts and theo on the bench : theo to mane and pieters / trippier to bellerin , bench naughton

Id like to roll over the two fts if at all possible

    Sound reasonable ?
