I know. I cant get it out.
Its getting to the point where I feel like I have to or ill regret it. Remy/Murray are other picks but just not feeling it

I think you should do it. Just because you don't have a massive amount of validation on here is no reason not to.

I probably will. Most of my rivals wont think ahead and will keep austin so not much risk either way. He could easily bag a couple vs city. Even a (C) option?

It's the consideration for me. It's between him or murray.

Ridiculous swing in money. 2 week only punt though due to holding Wildcard.

      Still undecided.

considering it because i think it would be a good punt and create potentially great differential but it would be nice to set up remy for chelsea DGW.. it's between Rooney and Remy for me..

With regard to the Remy being high risk/a trap, it all depends of circumstance.

I have Austin and am ditching. I also don't own Giroud, and am getting GW35/36. That means that, for me, I have a simple choice - a striker for 3/4 weeks. The options, really, are Gomis, Murray and Remy (I have Aguero and Kane). Gomis is, despite a good run, an unknown quantity. I don't trust Swansea at all, I just never back them to score, and Gomis is a loose cannon. He could go on a good ruin, as he has been, but he could also have a barren spell. A patchy striker playing for a team that struggle to score and have nothing to play for? A miss.

Murray is a more tempting option. He's bang in form but, again, we don't know if he can produce this consistently at this level. He has had a good 2 weeks, but in neither has he been towards the top of the stats for threat or creativity. He is not threatening with wave after wave like Aguero does or, indeed, like Chelsea can. A couple of bounces not going his way, a couple of wayward or mishit shots, and his points dry up. Also, personally, I am almost certainly bringing in Puncheon this week. Crystal Palace are a decent attacking team, but are they one I want to double up on with DGWs upcoming?

An issue consistently raised against buying Remy is that, after 3 or so GWs, he is potentially out of the team. Well, if we look at Murray's potential after 3 GWs: Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool. One would hardly expect him to rack up the points.

That leaves us with Remy. Many are concerned about rotation with Drogba. Drogba is not in the greatest physical fitness, he is 37, and has chronic ankle problems. Mourinho has said that he "owes" Remy game time, and that he is too good a striker to sit on the bench. Drogba is unlikely to be around next season, this is surely the perfect time to give Remy games and let him know that he is part of Mourinho's plans.

Remy is, frankly, a better striker now than Drogba. Mourinho tends to play his best XI and, with Costa out, Remy is in there. Even if Drogba does start a game, that means over the next 4 GWs, Remy has 4 games. Same as Gomis, same as Murray. If Drogba does start, Remy will almost certainly get half an hour or so - ample time to do damage against tired legs. Even without the DGW, in a straight contest - Remy v Gomis v Murray - over 3/4 GWs, I would take Remy. Now the top striker in a team determined to seal the title, what's not to like?

I also don't believe, if the title is wrapped up, Mourinho will rush Costa back from a hamstring injury. It would be an entirely senseless risk, and I believe Remy should be first choice until GW35/36, when I will bring in Giroud, if not the end of the season.

Just my 2 cents in response to all of the "high risk" talk. For me, the risk is low, but the gain could be very, very high.

It's best waiting for information on the scan. So many on here are certain that Costa is done. Unless they work on the medical team at SB they could be setting people for a fall.

      Conjecture is fine
      Opinion is awesome

Parading around as if you know something isn't.

For your situation it seems like a decent call. I'd just expect remy to be taken off 60-70min most games.

I'm certainly waiting until the presser tomorrow, but Costa's already been ruled out for minimum 2 games. It would be ridiculous to rush him back if Chelsea have the title sewn up. And yes, it is specific to my situation, but I suspect many others will be looking at Remy to Giroud.

We know Remy can score. 5 goals in 645 minutes this season. 14 goals in a weak Newcastle team last season.

The downside is security of minutes.

I think Mane was different, and something that didn't convince me at all. He was a midfielder who had had a few decent weeks in a side that couldn't score - more comparable to Gomis. Remy is proven over time in this league, if he plays he gets goals. He could miss a game, but he is almost certain to get playing time in every one, and he has a fixture extra to other strikers being considered.

I don't think anyone is suggesting its a high risk. But there is an element of risk. I agree that circumstances affect decision making. For Austin owners its far more tempting to get Remy. Whereas for others who own Aguero, Giroud, Kane. Its much harder to stomach.

Either way, the existing circumstance of our FPL sides doesn't change what happens in real life. The extent of Costa's injury is unknown. I'd suggest that personal FPL circumstances create a bias where you would be happier to accept Costa is out for a long time if its convenient to do so.
