This evening we roll out the quarter final draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI, as sponsored by Paddy Power, as well as the semi-final draw for the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

Mark continues to fight another day, after seeing off Eedee in round seven in the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI. He is the highest placed manager in the competition with a Fantasy Premier League rank of 155 and squares up to johni00 in the quarter finals.

Another of the FFScout team has made it through. Our moderator and Scoutcast guest Ryan beat the competition’s previously highest ranked manager, fuml_akimbo, and now faces HammersXI.

In the other quarter final ties, HuttonDressedAsLahm takes on Mowgli and faux_C is matched with Jon Nurse, who has won £25 worth of free bets with Paddy Power after his round seven tally of 68 proved to be round seven’s highest score.

In the Fantasy Football Members Cup V, the first semi-final will see the competition’s highest placed manager Tdubb05, who is ranked 1345th, take on waltzingmatildas. Meanwhile, Alwilb’s semi final opponent is faux_C, the only competitor to be in with a chance of winning both our cups.

The full quarter final draw for the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI can be found here, while the semi-final draw for the Members Scout Cup V can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

2FT and £0.5m in the bank.

    Schemeichel
    Terry Vlaar Skrtel
    Hazard Fabregas Sterling Henderson
    Aguero Giroud Benteke

    Bench - Schlupp, Cambiasso, PVA

    A) Skrtel > Kos
    Sterling > Ramsey/Kos for free

    B) Pull out all the stops to get Sanchez (poss take a hit and get rid of Fabregas too)

    Which scores more this week?

    a) Sterling Ramsey Sanchez (no Hazard)
    b) Ramsey Ozil Hazard (no Sanchez)

      So..

      Ozil & Haz
      vs
      Sanchez & Sterling

      I'm going for A.

Tough one, I'd argue it mostly comes down to Haz vs Sanchez. I fancy Sanchez this week.

Based on form you would excpect:
      A) 3,8+8,3+7,0=19,1
      B) 8,3+2,7+5,6=16,6
      so...A!

In general, if you're comparing things like this, remove players which feature in both, i.e Ramsey. Easier to look at and hence you'll prob get more replies if you say

      a) Sterling Sanchez
      b) Ozil Hazard

I say B too, but then you should get Sanchez for the dgw if at all poss.

        Oops

If I went b I would do Haz to Sanchez the following week so would have him for the double

Not without losing Ivan and taking another hit, so no basically.

I think Haz is done after this week

The double defence could be quite profitable again though?

1-0 quite likely and there's always an attacking threat from them!

    How does this look?

This week: Fabregas & Sterling -> Sanchez & Ramsey

    Next week: Silva -> Ozil

It gives me Sanchez, Ramsey, Ozil, Panti & PVA for the double, no hit.

No Giroud/defender is a worry but the 3 mids will probably assist Giroud if he does score and if all 3 play 60+ mins they will just about cover a CS too..

Looks like a good plan. Not having Giroud is a risk but not an insane one. Arsenal cover will be a bit of a lottery anyway.

He's been looking good in recent weeks. I'd like to have something a little different in there.

Giroud could hurt but barring a disaster my mini leagues are wrapped up so it's worth the risk

Yep, think Ozil has the potential to be a really good pick given his low ownership.

    Raylor(WBA) Henderson(che) Fabregas(LIV) Vardy (SOT) out

    Mcshane(BUR) Grealish(WHU) Silva(QPR) Benteke(WHU) in

Done for -12, reckon it will pay off ?

Nah I don't think so to be honest. Have you already done it?

Not even any Arsenal in there?

      1. Jay_
        11 years, 2 months ago

Already got Ramsey Sanchez and Giroud , chasing someone got it down to 8 points (20 now ) and figured Silva and Benteke would be key and Mcshane will play this week too

        1. Viper
          • 16 Years
          11 years, 2 months ago

By taking a 12 pointer though you're now 20 behind.

8 points really isn't much at all. You need to outscore him by 3 points for the remaining week, very doable!

          1. Jay_
            11 years, 2 months ago

Hoping Benteke and Silva will smash the 12 point hit alone this week, kinda hoping for 20 points between them and I actually think they will, and then Mcshane cleanie looks likely, with Moreno a doubt and Duff suspended (possibly ) would have been playing with 2 man defence (Raylor don't count he keeps getting 0 pointers 🙂

i'm thinking you are joking.. this has me confused.

keep vardy, keep taylor.. could even get away with keeping henderson another week..

fabregas > arsenal mid of your choosing, depending on the team you have, is probably the best choice there.. for free....

      1. Jay_
        11 years, 2 months ago

Already had 3 x Arsenal and wanted Benteke so Vardy (Giroud Aguero others)had to go, Henderson was 5th mid bench fodder and Raylor and Newcastle defence had got me 1 point I'm a combined 2 games off bench for Moreno was sick of him lol

I just read your comment above so I can see your pickle but I still think Fabregas to Silva is the only hit I'd take.. What FT did you do already?

            • 11 Years
            11 years, 2 months ago

..and even this depends on what your rival has.. If he has Silva, maybe keep Fabregas. I'm chasing too but I'd rather take one or two punts on differentials and keep the rest as similar to rival as possible (so he couldn't pull away). I'm guessing your leader will make pretty predictable, conservative choices and hope you will do something crazy that doesn't pay off (like take a 12 point hit).

            1. Jay_
              11 years, 2 months ago

His stuck with Eriksen Sterling (Hazard Ramsey ) others , his got 3 Arsenal (Kosc Giroud Ramsey ) so Silva and Sanchez for me will be massive, he just can't afford Benteke so it's taking one last advantage of my higher TV than him, I actually think my team is near perfect now ...
              Davis
              Ivanovic Morgan Mcshane
              Hazard Silva Sanchez Ramsey
              Aguero Giroud Benteke
( Schmeichel Grealish Moreno Duff )

Any advice all? 1.2 in the bank and 1FT.
Love to get the main Arsenal culprits in...just don't know how's best to do that.

    Adrian
    Terry - Bellerin - Clyne
    Hazard - Fabregas - Coutinho - Sterling
    Aguero - Kane - Murray

Hamer - Moreno - Boyd - Van Aanholt

Was thinking that, and then maybe Aguero > Giroud next week?

Unfortunately the only way to afford Sanchez is to drop Hazard. Which I could do I suppose.

I've weighed up Aguero -> Giroud but I've decided to triple up on Arsenal mids by doing Silva -> Ozil instead (along with Sanchez & Ramsey)

To be honest I'm not sure losing Hazard would be a major thing?

No, at this point in the season you're probably right about Hazard.

You're right, two Arsenal mids is very tempting, as I said below.

    3. FionnMac
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 2 months ago

Work out a way to get one Arsenal this week, one Arsenal next week. Ideally to include Giroud but don't think you can afford him?

      Maybe just Sterling>Ramsey then Fab>Ozil.

Obviously get Sanchez if at all possible but don't think you can while still getting 2 Arsenal/without using a hit?

      1. Atwood
        • 16 Years
        11 years, 2 months ago

Giroud can be afforded if I downgrade Aguero.

Sanchez is the tricky one. Only really possible if I get rid of Hazard but I quite like the look of the two moves you mentioned anyway.

I think so. Southampton aren't as good defensively as they were earlier in the season and Sterling is in awful for with a poor fixture net, whereas McShane has an excellent fixture v Burnley and Sanchez has form + good fixtures.

I could easily see you making back that -4 this week alone.

        ?

So Sanchez is worth Ozil + 4? Or Ramsey +4?

It looks an even decision to me even with no hit involved.

    how's that for creative..

    snippet:
"Both Falcao and De Gea are represented by agent Jorge Mendes and United have intensified their efforts in recent weeks to keep their Spanish goalkeeper.

Falcao, who has not scored since January 31, could form part of an agreement whereby United decide to keep him for a second season to pacify Mendes.

United sources insist that, despite four goals in 27 appearances, 29-year-old Falcao is not certain to leave Old Trafford and his future is intertwined with that of De Gea."

On scoutcast they were saying that the word is that it's bruising, and it shouldn't take long to heal. I think I might be tempted to go Ozil even if I could go Ramsey though, but that's just me. Ozil and Cazorla are getting overlooked for Ramsey and Sanchez when it could be them that get the big hauls! Maybe most are going with the crowd as insurance.

I wish I had access to more information to judge it on but I'm thinking Sanchez, Ozil and Ramsey are most in form, but Cazorla also has those set pieces. Sanchez and Ramsey might be more obviously ahead in points returns over last gameweek but I don't think there is any guarantee that they will repeat yesterdays performance in DGW. Sanchez had been blanking for a while previous to this week,(four weeks without anything, if I remember correctly) and Ramsey could get less time on pitch than the others.

I don't think people are just going Sanchez and Ramsey for insurance, but it must surely swing it when you are choosing between 4 good options.

Hmmm, well even without the differential edge I think he will edge on fixtures and the teams overall form.

I mean I don't disagree with that, I own Vlaar myself for this very reason. But differential thing isn;t very relavent IMO

Vlaar, IMO. Last GW fixtures swings it for me as I expect more attacking threat from QPR than Burnley tbh.

Think Grealish still has value as a 5th mid? Dropped Punch for him to afford Sterling --> Silva.

Benteke almost ready to rise for the 2nd time this week, the guy is out of control lately. Hopefully, he stays quiet for the rest of the season because I can't get him in. Could buy him in the last week maybe...

I just got him in so knowing my luck he will take a knock.. I didn't even want to type that in case I jinxed it. This FPL stuff is making me superstitious!

I have completely ruined my sleeping schedule by staying up writing essays and cramming for exams.. I should know better.

I know the feeling, can't even remember the last time I woke up at 8 o'clock, not much of a morning person... Always checking up on fantasy..... Ok nah that's not true 😀

re-post, as this question was probably too mundane

    A) Vardy
