I honestly thought Sterling's big money move would increase his confidence and he would be a top player for city this season. How wrong I was. His lack of composure in front of goal is still incredibly poor and he will soon lose his place in the starting 11.

He wont lose his place for another 3-4-5 shitty performances like todays. Afterall, him and Navas are pretty similar and they paid 40 million more for Sterling, so. Him getting sold in a huge transfer deal doesnt rapidly improve his ability to actually do things with the football. Ive said this for two years, he has no end product.

      1. Bielsa's Blue Bucket
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 4 months ago

I have always said it about him but as I said i thought things would change this season. No more excuses, not too young or any other bullshite. So when Silva is fit what is the most likely scenario?

He is still young. He was young when he left `Pool and 2 months at City doesnt really change that. But hes approaching a time where he has to find a level of consistency, and to me he doesnt look to have that atm. With Silva back i assume KDB and Sterling will flank him with Yaya back to his natural habitat alongside Fernandinho. Not sure if this is the best setup they have, mainly cus Navas does so much both defensively and with the fact that he really is a wide man that stretches defences.

      2. Bielsa's Blue Bucket
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 4 months ago

The reason I thought his end product would improve is because of the surrounding quality that he didn't have at pool

      3. Camp No No
        • 12 Years

There's the huge difference that Navas makes a massive defensive effort while Sterling isn't bothered at all.

    Repost.

Would you take a hit for any of these defensive moves? I think i am alright for this GW.

    Butland McCarthy
    Kolarov Francis Prodl Richards Gomez

Francis Prodl and Richards all have decent fixtures. And Dawson who i would want to bring in has Palace away.

Can bring Azpi in too. But worth a hit?

Unless it's a DGW I'd never take a hit for a defender if I have 3 likely to play.

Really good? Meh. He looks composed on the ball, hes quick and looks to be a very calm finisher. But to me he looks like hes too seldom in great scoring positions. I didnt watch the entire game today, but i didnt notice him having one clear cut scoring chance, except for the one where Memphis shoulda passed it back to him, but then again nobody ever makes that pass.

You may be talking about two different things. There's a chance that Parm is saying that as a player Martial looked really good, while you seem to suggest that he didn't seem like a good fpl prospect more due to the players around him than because of himself.

No, im talking about Martial as a striker. I cant be sure if this is accurate yet as the samplesize is small, but he doesnt seem to have a natural knack for getting into scoring positions, getting those striker goals. His balance and technique and pace and finishing all seem very good for a player at his age and experience level, but he wont score on 80% of his chances for the rest of the season. Getting to chances even on off days is what seperate the great ones from the good to medium ones.

Hi...can someone help me with dilemma...

Not sure if to replace Wilson with ighalo or vardy...both have good fixtures....

Vardy uses all my budget and sees me double up on Leicester as already have mahrez....

Ighalo much cheaper...giving me more flexibility and cash itb......

So is ighalo best bet?....advice appreciated...thanks

      Vardy.

I personally wouldn't class it as doubling up when Mahrez is so highly owned.

Both are showing well, but Vardy is ahead.
