Gameweek 11’s final stanza pits Tottenham against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane. Spurs boast the longest current unbeaten streak (nine matches) of any team in the league and will be in rich spirits following their 5-1 win over Bournemouth. Conducted by caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald, the visitors search for their first victory in 10 outings before new boss Remi Garde takes the helm.
Spurs are firing on all cylinders at present, displaying a balance between attack and defence. Between Gameweeks 7-10, Tottenham ranked third for goals scored and first for shots on target (32). At the other end of the pitch, only three teams conceded fewer goals (four) than the Lilywhites over that period, who surrendered the joint least big chances (three).
Villa rank second bottom for shots on target (10) over the last four Gameweeks, so it’s little surprise that the West Midlanders netted just three goals in their previous five outings, drawing three blanks in the process. If they are to stand a chance of rebuffing Spurs’ attack, Macdonald will need to inspire a vast improvement at the back, given that Villa conceded 10 goals in their last four away clashes.
