Eriksen by a distance. He shot up the stats abiut five or six weeks ago and has now had three double figure hauls in five games. Alli has nullified him as a pick based on price not pts.

Arnie. Best of a bad pair.

Those who have used their 2nd WC, like me, how are we approaching GW30? I think I'm going to have to settle for 5/6 players at most for that GW. I just don't see the point in bringing players in who won't be as good in the short term and might not be as good in the long term. I'd rather get 180 points between now and GW30 and then settle for a 20 pointer in GW30 where I then still have a team I like going into GW31 then get say 160 points going into GW30 and a 40 pointer but be left with players who I want to transfer out asap.

What's the consensus on City then ?..They seem to have fallen off a cliff since Pell announced he was leaving.

        • 10 Years

They've not got a fully fit squad and Yaya's not good enough to start every game. They need KdB and *gulp* Navas back ASAP so they have options in the midfield. They only had 3 subs with shirt numbers below 50 on the bench today.

        1. Dr Dream
          • 11 Years
          8 years, 2 months ago

Don't gulp at Navas, he's a great little player...rubbish at FPL though. Just like Coutinho at Liverpool he soaks up a lot of opposition manpower keeping him down. Ideal for the other picks.

            • 10 Years
            8 years, 2 months ago

I gulp because he's such an easily replaceable player that you could pick a couple of him up for £10m, but in the City system he just works because everyone else is so good. If you had a nippy, creative and dangerous winger a la Mahrez, that City team would be monstrous.

Leicester and Spurs were tough matches, even with home advantage, and they have a poor record against other top teams.

Apart from injuries, they may also be suffering from severe fixture congestion. Talk of the quadruple is ridiculous in my opinion. They will need to decide on their priorities and rest players for some matches. If they don't get knocked out of the FA Cup and Champions League fairly soon then they are going to have to take some difficult decisions. Their first two priorities should be to finish in the top four (which shouldn't be too difficult) and to win the Capital One Cup, in that order.

          • 10 Years
          8 years, 2 months ago

Did you see their bench today though? They can't rest anyone apart from Clichy and Aguero at the moment!

          13 Willy Caballero GK
          26 Martín Demichelis CB
          11 Aleksandar Kolarov LB

So they'll probably have to field weakened teams in some matches, like Liverpool have been doing in the FA Cup.
They can't just keep fielding all their best players in four competitions, or they'll only get even more injuries.

              • 10 Years
              8 years, 2 months ago

That's asking for a battering in the FA Cup against Chelsea then and doesn't entirely solve the problem as you can't really tank a cup final or the Champions League without angering the fans

They are not favourites for the League, the Champions League or the FA Cup.

They might win one of them, but if they try too hard for all three then they probably won't win any.

I agree with all that. It's just that Pell adding to that scenario just seems to have made things flat on top of it all as well.

But we all expected Pep to take over next season anyway, and I don't think the players had fallen out with Pellegrini like the Chelsea players did with Mourinho, so I would have expected them to do their best for Pell this season and to try and impress Pep for the next one.

I wouldn't have thought that the early announcement of the management change would make that much difference.

Simpson suspensions means im going to have to take a -4 to field a starting XI in gmweek 27/
Need to transfer 2 out of Silva, Lukaku and Moreno.
If I dont transfer Lukaku im stuck playing 4-5-1.

      So, Lukaku to Vardy/kane?
      Moreno to Stoke defence?
      any other ideas?

Mata maybe in the under Benitez.
Fabregas last season was probably up there too.

yep, he snuck into the dream team on 3 goals iirc. Silva's second season here was beastly too.

ATM fielding 10, maybe 9 if Gosling is dropped.

      Butland
      Bellerin VVD Daniels
      Gosling Sanchez Mahrez Ozil Alli
      Kane

Out: Aguero Simpson Clyne Lukaku. Gosling potentially dropped.

      What would you advise please?!?

I'm thinking Gosling to Arnie, and Lukaku to Vardy. Giving me:

This is what I have to work with for GW 27. Help?

      Forster Hennessey
      Alder Koscielny Daniels Simpson VVD
      Ozil Payet Mahrez Firmino Tettey
      Aguero Kane Vardy

      1FT, 1.5m.

      Aguero will be benched.
      Firmino needs to go.
Simpson and Koscielny have complicated matters a bit.
Not sure whether Soton double up is a good idea against Chelsea.
Currently 9 players fit to start.

      Thanks.

        Keep Simpson
        Wait for news on kosc
I'd sell either Aguero or firmino if they have a second blank wk30
Tettey is a waste of space, you need a decent 5th mf to cover the blanks, upgrade potentially to arnie or another player with no blanks once this is known. Or just get alli. You may need to fund this by downgrading one of kosc, firm, Aguero this week and upgrading Tettey next week unless you want to take a hit

If city knock out Chelsea in the fa cup I think I'm going to do lukaku + Aguero > Costa + vardy
      Boom

If Chelsea knock out city then it's just lukaku > vardy
      Snore

      Come on city

13 shots inside the box in the last 4, when he starts converting them a brace is a coming.

Some serious pts in that Arsenal team coming up. Giroud had more touches in the box than the whole of the Lei and Spurs team combined this week...a lot more...He might be a donkey but it shows just how strong the attacking intent is at Arsenal right now.

Sadly...you're right. With some easy fixtures and DGW's scattered about for some top picks I'd wager we'll all be sat wondering why we didn't just go with Arsenal instead of chasing the fixtures. We'll see how it pans out.

Depends on what sort of team you can get out for next week. Go Woll if you can't name 3 good defenders. Soton probably won't keep Chelsea out

Grand Playoffs quarter finals results are in:

The Buck Stops With Me 2 - 1 Four Four Boyz
      Mr Flibbles 2 - 0 Jawain
      Bertzeiner-M 2 - 1 Geriatric Unathletic
      Hooky 2 - 0 HVT

so that leaves us with these match ups in the Final 4

The Buck Stops With Me vs Mr Flibbles
      Bertzeiner-M vs Hooky

Each of the semi finalists have had hugely consistent seasons to get here with a bit of luck along the way so well done to each for getting this far. As we are now into the last 4, the format changes slightly and the semi finals will be a best of 5 gameweeks rather than a best of 3.

With so many ditching Lukaku and Barkley I'm half tempted to bring them both in for Team Argentina and be on the bench this week. Good investment for Week 28.
