Dugout Discussion – West Brom vs Middlesbrough

Sunday’s events get underway at the Hawthorns as West Brom seek to end a barren run of results on home turf against a confident Middlesbrough side.

Tony Pulis’ men have earned just a single point from their last five matches in front of their own fans, having lost out 2-1 to Everton in Gameweek 2.

In contrast, the visitors arrive in the midlands having earned their first three points on their return to the top flight courtesy of a 2-1 win at Sunderland in the Wear-Tees derby.

Boro are forced to shuffle their back four in the absence of left-back George Friend through injury, but Daniel Ayala is fit to start and makes his first appearance of the season.

As for West Brom, they shift Jonny Evans to central defence with Jonas Olsson dropping to the bench. Brendan Galloway makes his first Baggies start in the league at left-back, while young Sam Field makes his debut in midfield in what looks to be a five-man setup. Saido Berahino and Craig Gardner make way.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    When do Bonus Point Scores get finalised? In my manager of the month competition my nearest rival has Nsue coming off the bench. Need him to not get any BAPs. First he was on 2, then 1 and know 0. Fingers crossed....

    I need some Arsenal midfield action.
    Am I crazy to pick Diomande to enable Ozil, or should I play safe and pick Cazorla and Gray?
    A) go big: Ozil's points will make it worthwhile
    B) play safe: Cazorla is almost as good as Ozil

      B). Cazorla's not almost as good as Ozil, but Gray is a lot lot better option than Diomande. Although personally i'm going without Arsenal for now.

    Something to bear in mind for those looking to get Aguero, Ibra, Hazard and Sanchez on a WC. It goes without saying, but you can only captain one of them. That means the 'makeweight' players need to contribute.

    As an example, which front 6 scores more over a run of games?

    a) Aguero(C), Ibra, Hazard, Diomande, Sanchez, and Redmond (£56m)
    b) Aguero(C), Ibra, Negredo, Hazard, Mane, and Redmond (£56m)

    or to stretch the point

    c) Aguero(C), Lukaku, Negredo, Hazard, Coutinho, and Ozil (£56m)

      Same conundrum. I have Barkley, think I'm gonna sell of Cazorla due to Arsenal fixtures, having Bolasie too and Cazorla on pens - new rules might mean lots more pens.
