The ScoutCast – Episode 207 – Regrets

Regrets come hand-in-hand with Fantasy Football – if you get through the season without one, you’re either extremely fortunate or you just don’t care enough. Either way, you’re unlikely to be reading this.

Most of us of come to terms with them, have learnt to ride them out and plough on regardless but, even I’ve got to admit, Alexis Sanchez’ Gameweek 14 stung a bit.

Thankfully, with Sergio Aguero harbouring his own regrets, my path to sheepishly welcome Sanchez back into the fold is signposted rather clearly.

The Sanchez wounds and the Aguero fall-out dominate this week’s ScoutCast, which also marks a debut for moderator and long-time community member AZ. He steps in with Granville tangled in political red tape to join Jonty, Andy and myself for a lengthy and lively episode.

We gripe about the volatile market, quiver in fear at the idea of the “Titan teams” and, of course, preview the weekend with a scattering of statistics, speculation and pure guesswork.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

"B...But...But Coutinho dropped 0.3 in 3 days, that is INSANE! Needs to be changed !!1!"

Coutinho got dropped by 1 MILLION players in one week. Having him drop only 0.1 for that week is an absolutely flawed system that is ripe for manipulation.
Sometimes this site can really bamboozle me.

Will Austin drop before the start of next game week. If so should I do him to Anichebe or 4.9 fwd or less to allow me to get Sanchez next week??

Austin's unlikely to drop but I'd get Diomande -nailed and Palace away form is horrendous.

    Who to start?

    Walker (MUN) or Holebas (EVE)?

I'm starting both with Alonso. Who else do you have?

      Walker. Spurs good defensively.

      Help above.

I'll start both with Lovren. My dilemma is Amat (SUN) or Walker (mun)

I know, I know... I just have a soft spot for defenders with home fixtures.

So I can play a probable 1pt defender or take -4 to get Nacho/Defoe...
So replacement would need to score 5 to just break even, not worth it really for a hit I dont think..

Defoe goal vs Swansea odds are quite high i would say, which would get you 6 points, so youre 1 point better off, no including BPs

Hit also means a saved free transfer, in case it helps.

Aguero, Austin, Vertonghen, Koscielnt --> Costa, Kane, Ake, Barragan

    for -8

    (A) Go for it
    (B) No way

Is bringing in Anichebe for a hit the first sign of the apocalypse?

    Repost for different crowd,

On wc, Firminho out for Lallana to afford Nacho instead of Anichebe. So,
    A) Firminho + Anichebe
    B) Lallana + Iheanacho

    Also best gk combination,

    1) Heaton + Robinson
    2) Pickford + Grant

    Thanks

    Should i replace Austin with:

    A. Iheanacho
    B. Callum Wilson

Normally i would say A but Wilson is nailed on and has some decent fixtures. Concerned De Bruyne could be played up front.

So in essence... taking a -8 would mean your replacement would need to bag 2 goals to make a points profit... 1 goal to break even.

    Or am I missing something?

Come on Capoue hat trick !

Yeah more or less. Depends on who the other transfers were though.

I got Sanchez & Costa in for Kun & Theo for a -8 so mildly confident it'll pay off in a few weeks

    heaton (pickford)
    koscielny clyne pieters (evans, amat)
    firmino hazard siggy walcott (fletcher)
    kane benteke austin

Do I take a hit for austin? Or play amat / evans?

Options would be costa, ibra.. origi? I have 4.4 in the bank and was planning on getting sanchez next week for walcott!

    The Austin dilemma...

Already on a -4 so it'll be a -8 to make a change with a max 7.6m budget to fix. The options available:

    a) No Transfer but an unfavourable bench of Allen, Pieters and McAuley
    b) The obvious Nacho - Not overly appealing, likely to get 1-3 goals over the 4 game window but at this stage of the season with fixtures coming think and fast, would prefer a long term solution rather than a gap fill
    c) Benteke - strong form and nice fixture this week but United Chelsea and Arsenal being 3 of the next 5
    d) Anichebe - free up funds for a Pedro upgrade next week, likely to a bench rotation with Allen (Can if i ever get round to the swap)
    e) Origi - currently have no Liverpool cover but not confident in him starting especially with Lallana back
    f) CARROLL - last seasons pain still hurts and the lack of games this year gives us very little confidence. However, i just can't seem to get away from his fixtures until the end of January - even Liverpool this week probably shouldn't be considered a Red with how they're defending. I'm just not sure I've forgiven him for last years triple captain just yet

    Comments welcome please....

Austin -> Iheanacho / Benteke / Defoe for a hit? or play fletcher?

having the same proble myself but playing capoue instead of fletcher. Im leaning towards swapping him for nacho or for origi. What do you thinnk?

        • 9 Years

Can't really decide between both tbh. Sturridge might return anytime and will be rotated with origi and pep's nonstop rotating strategy means iheanacho minutes will be limited. I'm leaning towards defoe or benteke as a better long term investment.

having same prob. will bring in defoe this gw for a hit. Defoe on pens and could be long term. Also they play swans. Nacho or origi could be grt but over festive period gws will be fast. So they will be rotated.

totally agree with your point there. Its a toss up between defoe and benteke for me.

Is Austin protected from falling, since he's flagged? Seems like he will fall tonight if not.
That will be -12 for me then, have to transfer tonight to afford Ihenacho. Hurts man.
