Gameweek 25 concludes at the Vitality Stadium with Bournemouth paying host to Pep Guardiola’s Mancheseter City.

Once again Pep’s teamsheet steals the pre-match headlines, with Gabriel Jesus preferred as his central striker, leaving Sergio Aguero on the bench for a third successive outing.

Transferred in by more than 210,000 ahead of Gameweek 25, Jesus is skippered by 156,000 tonight up against a Cherries defence that has shipped more Premier League goals than any other side in 2017, conceding three or more in eight of their last twelve matches.

That defence is at last bolstered tonight by an array of returnees, as Charlie Daniels, Simon Francis and Adam Smith all overcome knocks to claim berths.

Elsewhere, manager Eddie Howe prefers Jordan Ibe to Junior Stanislas on the right flank, as Josh King again leads the attack.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is there a link to the probabilities of the GW28 fixtures being dropped?
Was an online excel sheet / google doc?

Probabilities mean nothing. You will have certainty before the next GW.

Think Snoddy deserves a yes over a maybe.

Davies is just a bench fodder that why a Yes.. 🙂
          Snoddy + Phillips
I don't like that combination so a maybe to both as one will disappoint for sure imo

            Ah I see re Snoddy.

I personally think it will be important to have a playing bench from here on in with blanks and rotation with CL, EL, FA Cup and the League Cup so I'd want a start over Davies.

Amat to Robertson is the move I've made this week. It's a cost efficient transfer and gives a starter for GW26/28 as well as decent fixtures upcoming if you ever need to call upon him.

    Sorry, near bottomed

    Morning.
    Shame about Jesus!

    Jaku
    Walker - Coleman - Brunt
    Firmino - Phillips - Eriksen - Zaha
    Kane - Lukaku(c) - Jesus

Heaton - Sterling - Kone -Naughton
    2FT - £2.2itb

    A) Sterling for Hazard and bench Jesus
    B) Jesus for Costa and bench Sterling
    C) Both city players out for maybe Hazard and Defoe... something along those lines

Robertson. He has less competition for his place.

Although Maguire is playing well he has to compete with Dawson, Davies and Ranocchia.

I think the hype train around here has made him sound like am better footballer than he is mainly because he's had a few shots at goal. Yes he's playing well, but as soon as he doesn't (which may be anytime) he will likely be dropped and struggle to get back in the team. For bench fodder, this is that last thing we need a la Amat.

  8. FPL Emu

People here are talking about moves like Sanchez -> Hazard and Sanchez -> Mane. But isn't it simply better to get in someone who actually plays in GW28, as they have an extra match? Should compensate for the difference in player quality, no?

I'm talking players like Lanzini, Snodgrass, King, Morrison, an Everton mid, and so on.

    Thoughts?

Yeah, get that. But still - two matches is a big deal if nailed to start. Four points off the bat. If you are missing a captain it makes more sense, but with Lukaku I think I am good

    3. MTPockets
      9 years, 5 months ago

Depends (aside from results) on what you think average players for gw28 will be.

      1. FPL Emu
        • 15 Years
        9 years, 5 months ago

Not sure the average means all that much, as it will definitely be good to have 11 players no matter what. The average will just be an indication as to how good it will be

        1. MTPockets
          9 years, 5 months ago

I think it matters if includes 3-5 playing each other & likely to get 2pts, when want rid soon after.

          1. FPL Emu
            • 15 Years
            9 years, 5 months ago

What does it matter if the players are playing against each other? It's not like your Smith with 4 conceded goals gets any better or worse whether you have an attacker of the opposing side or not.

            All that changes is variance.

But yeah, I forgot to add that I am wildcarding after GW30

            1. MTPockets
              9 years, 5 months ago

In that example I don't see the point in using 2ft or hits for, say, Smith & Carroll short-term.

If average decent player has say 6 in gw8 I don't want 11 if to the greater cost of squad.

Some gw28 options are otherwise fillers, with not amazing fixtures afterwards (e.g. wba). If you think their output for one gw is likely underestimated that's great, but I don't.

An earlier wildcard may change that outlook to be fair.

To all those benching Ibra and Sanchez, let's see your teams please.

I'm benching both and don't think mine looks weak in 26 for doing so, 28 will have 8 players and no hits so really not sure why everyone is in a rush/panic to lose them for the sake of one week (as 26 looks like one that you can cope)

Anyway, my effort, let's see some of the teams with the benched assets.

    Jakupovic
    Alonso Azpiliqueta Coleman Brunt Chambers
    Hazard Alli Phillips
    Lukaku (c) Ashley Barnes

    Heaton Fraser Ibra Sanchez

Think I only have Barnes who I wouldn't play in a normal week so it's only 28 that I'm concerend about but I'm guessing that will be car crash for most and not taking hits will balance up having one or two less players IMO.

Mine doesn't look great but that was the problem with holding 5 x United / Arsenal for so long:

      Heaton
      Alonso - Brunt - Mawson - Holebas - Amat
      Alli - Phillips - Sigurdsson
      Crouch - Lukaku

      Pickford - Ibra - Sanchez - Mkhitaryan

I have a few options such as Heaton+Amat to Jakupovic+Coleman or Mkhitaryan to a West Ham midfielder and still do the Amat move. Or Mkhitaryan to someone who doesn't blank in GW28 after FA Cup and bench Mawson or Crouch. Leaving options open at least.

I'd get rid of Amat for sure. Last thing you need with blanks/rotation coming up is to have a non playing player.

If I just benched both my team would be

      Heaton
      Brunt Coleman Alonso Evans Daniels
      Phillips Sigurdsson Alli
      Lukaku Carroll

      Pickford Ibra Sanchez Stanislas

But to me that's not strong enough with lots still owning Hazard and Costa. One of Ibra or Sanchez will go for one of those Chelsea heavyweights - but alot will depend on FA Cup. I have two frees as well this week and 9 GWK 28 players, so have the wiggle room to make a luxury Ibra Costa Ibra hokey cokey move.

Daniels or Evans. Probably Daniels. Bournemouth are very leaky and WBA are tight at home - more so now that goal hero Evans is back.

Fair enough. I just wonder if it's worth potentially 2 transfers (although you could just bench the Chelsea guy in 28 as needed). Daniels could get attacking returns and in a single fixture could possibly match Hazard or Costa?

Suppose it depends how badly you think Swansea will get rolled over.

I have considered Hazard and Costa. May still do that. The good old two frees gives that choice too.

I'm keeping Daniels just can't see him getting much v WBA away.

As much as I like Daniels on paper I think its more likely Costa or Hazard v Swansea at home will get more than him.

Also I'm playing for a partic mini league currently and Costa and Hazard are well owned in that. Do need to cover at least one even both of those off.

Oh yeah, you'd definitely put money on the Chelsea boys than Daniels.

I suppose the risk is actually to bet on Daniels and hope he matches them or even beats them, but with 2 free transfers it makes life a bit easier.

I'm almost hoping someone like Burnley gets knocked out of the FA Cup so I can do Mkhitaryan to someone like Mane.

        My thoughts too.

If I bench both, it will give me

        Antonio Philips alli

        Lukaku Kane

Looking at that fixture it's surely set up to be 0-0. Allardyce would be happy to keep it tight, Karanka the same.

Anything could happen though. My prediction will be 1-0 Palace.

I'm in no panic to lose either of them prior to this week. I could get through it but involves playing Puncheon (which is my fault). Full XI out.

Thing is I also have two free transfers. Once we know about the GW28 blanks and say Chelsea go out. Why wouldn't I do Sanchez to Hazard? (SWA, whu, WAT) vs (_, liv, _). For me that's a no brainer especially given that I've got two free transfers so have to use one anyways. My rival also has Costa and I'm not comfortable without Chelsea cover for the next 3, it's not just the blanks I'm looking at here. Also allows me to upgrade PVA to Coleman/Baines.

      My team without doing anything.

      Jaku
      McAuley, Funes Mori, Alonso, PVA
      Phillips, Eriksen, Coutinho, Puncheon

I'd be a little worried longer term with double WBA defence, although it's fair enough as they have 2 home fixtures and one in GW28 but after that I'd be looking to offload potentially

Problem with Mawson is he's not ideal in GW26.

Brunt is a good pick for the next couple, just be mindful of likely having to offload one longer term 🙂

I'm keeping both Sanchez and Ibra for GW27. This is currently my team with 1 FT and 1.7 ITB (already did Valencia > Coleman):

      Heaton

      Eriksen - Alli - Allen - Sigurdsson

I am fairly happy with it, defenders have all got decent fixtures, I suspect Spurs will take their fury out on Stoke. Allen is trolling me massively, first time I benched him since I owned him was last week, and he finally scores...hopefully he pulls another one out this week.

      Heaton
      Alonso Brunt Coleman Amat
      Eriksen Alli Siggy Phillips
      Lukaku Barnes

      Bench: Sanchez, Ibra, Ake

Will likely use my FT this week to change Amat or Ake to McGuire whoich gives me a full 11, and a playing defender option going forward. Will then save 2 FT for gameweek 28 to get as many players out as possible without taking too many hits.
Pending FA cup results etc I may also do Ibra to Costa or Sanchez to Hazard/Mane - I feel taking a 4 point hit to get a cheap defender that also plays GW28 and a Chelsea asset against Swansea will likely be my moves. Would be good to have Mane against Leicester but much less people have him in my ML compared to costa/hazard.

Problem bench at the moment .Plan to switch Jones or Amat for someone with no blanks.

      I've got decisions to make:

      Heaton
      Alons Colem Brunt Robertso
      *Pogba Alli Mirallas Fletcher
      Kane Carroll

      Pickford Holgate Ibra Sanch

2FT £1.2 itb. Resigned to a -4 to get rid of Pogba, Mirallas and a forward to get Lukaku (C) in.

Not sure which forward to get rid of or which mids to get in. Suggestions welcome although waiting a week before doing anything.

      Alonso Pieters Baines

      Benteke Costa

      Subs: Pickford, Ibra, Sanchez, Jones

      Not good at all 🙁

No Sanchez, benching Jones & Ibra ready for GW27.

      Heaton
      Brunt Toby Alonso
      Firmino Phillips Siggy Hazard(c) Fletcher
      Kane Carroll

      Jak Holgate JONES IBRA

Gives me 7 for GW28 at present and can sell Jones and Firmino or Hazard is needs be.

      Siggy Fraser Phillips Antonio
      Carroll Lukaku (c)

Only question for me is do I do Sanchez to Chelsea and bench Carroll, or transfer Carrol out?

      What I'm on right now:

      Heaton
      Alonso-Coleman-McAuley-Holebas
      Firmino-Siggy-Phillips-Stanislas
      Tekkers-Lukaku

      Pickford-Lovren-Ibra-Sanchez

Still thinking about Ibra->Costa though as not owing Costa/Hazard is my biggest GW26 concern....at the moment.

Most will be OK with 1 or 2 FT I'd imagine. I'd have thought there's a lot of teams with Chelsea/Everton/West Brom already.

    3. Viper
      • 16 Years
      9 years, 5 months ago

      I'd expect so.

      City players not well owned

Man U players not with huge ownerships (DeGea Ibra aside)

Arsenal have Sanchez and a defender well owned

      Southampton not well owned

If players have a decent bench there shouldn't be too much hits but generally people do have a sh*t bench

Damn intended to wait until after the cup to make a move but now have the exact cash to do Ibra + Stan --> Kaku + Pedro

Current team has a couple of issues such as Stan + Carroll + weak midfield

    Grant (Pick)
    Alonso/Walker/Coleman/Brunt (A. Smith)
    Siggy/Antonio/Allen/Stan (Alexis)
    Carroll/Kane (Ibra)

    2 FT, 0.3 ITB

Should i make the move now or hold tight? Any other bright ideas? Thanks folks

Ibra to Costa or Sanchez to haz? Got 1ft

Other option is to play tom Carroll away to Chelsea and also playing Siggy.

Ibra plays Bournemouth in gw27 so wary of that but think Bournemouth will tighten up by then somehow.
More value in Sanchez and would want to get him back in straight after gw28 whereas Ibra isn't as 'essential'.
