Dugout Discussion – Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Gameweek 32 concludes at Selhurst Park as Crystal Palace – with victories in four of their last five Premier League matches – look to maintain their recent revival against London rivals Arsenal.

Sam Allardyce’s’ Eagles have kept clean sheets in their last two home outings but a shut-out looks unlikely this evening: they face an Arsenal side who have scored in each of their previous twenty matches in the Premier League, with key Fantasy asset Alexis Sanchez a big factor in that statistic.

The Chilean has notched 12 goals and supplied five assists on the road this season – more than any other player – and is backed by 309,000+ or 7% with the captaincy this evening.

He’s supported by an in-form Theo Walcott, with the FPL midfielder boasting goals in back-to-back Gameweeks as he bids to provide us with a cheaper alternative to Sanchez. Impressively, Walcott has scored 18 goals from his last 23 starts in all competitions.

    Thoughts?
Ditch Sanchez + Llorente for Ibra+Zaha for -8
Or wait a week and do same for -4 in time for DGW?

    Heaton/Jaku
    Sanchez/King/Alli/Snodgrass/Davies
    Kane/Lukaku/Llorente

      Valencia/Walker/Cahill/McAuley/Love
      Sanchez/King/Alli/Snodgrass/Davies
      Kane/Lukaku/Llorente

You know unless you have a massive amount of dgw players (15 essentially) your no better off playing bench boost in a double game week then any other week. And actually having 15 dgw players is going to stuck in the following gws. Some won't feature from rotation etc and u will have ditched so many in form players on singles. It's a set up, only legit tactic for it is to wildcard in 36 and get 15 for 37 but ur still screwed for gw38. When the stars align next for weeks for my bench is when I will use boost. Have no wildcard left and certainly not taking massive hits to get 11+ dgw players

I get what you're saying but I think this whole "screwed for gw38" thing is a bit of a fallacy too.

From the 15 players I'll have in gw37, possibly all DGW players (or 14+lukaku, haven't decided yet) the team of 11 I can make for gw38 actually looks really good still?!

Yeah there will be some deadweight on my bench but isn't that what it's for? It's the last gameweek!

Doing it in 37 isn't too bad but if people do it earlier then that it's a bad idea

Won't need to ditch in form singles, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, United etc all have doubles.
You're right though, unless you're planning to bench boost a team with rotation risks a week before the end of the season, there is no point at all saving a wc.
We'll all be in the same situation come gw38 anyway 🙂

    Hi All,

Im trying to stay ahead of my league and am thinking of using my WC.

    WC team:
    Grant, (Pickford)
    Jagielka, Davies, Stephens, (Collins, Pennington)
Eriksen, Coutinho, Hazard, Zaha, King (no idea who to bench)
    Ibrahimovic, Lukaku, Kane

Am i screwing my defense too much to squeeze Hazard in?

    Here is my current team:
    Boruc, Grant
    Ward, Valencia, Pieters, McAuley, Daniels
    Eriksen, Coutinho, Lanzini, Zaha, King
    Agüero, Lukaku, Gabbiadini

    Any advice?
    Hold on the WC?
Leave Hazard out and replace Eriksen with Alli?

Does it make any sense to bring Son in at this point?

    WC in GW 34??

Chasing ML leader who is 75 points ahead.

Thinking to WC in 34 and load up with 3xMID (Valdes, 2DEF), 2xPAL (Tekkers and Zaha) and 2xMan U (Ibra and Rojo/Bailly)......then use the 2FT saved and further 2 FT's to get squad in shape for DGW 37.

Already have Kane/Eriksen/Alli/Sanchez in squad too.....

    Thoughts please?
