What a great night to be a Chelsea fan. But a Fantasy manager? Less so.

The Blues win the Premier League with two matches to spare and many of our double Gameweek and Bench Boost plans promptly start to look so horribly fragile.

Here’s the Stock Check on a historic evening for Antonio Conte and his Chelsea charges, while even an Everton victory raises more questions than answers.

On The Rise

Cesc Fabregas
Glory for Chelsea, rotation sure to follow, but at least one player continues to do his prospects no harm.

Fabregas started for the third time in four matches, with the fit-again N’Golo Kante kept on the bench, raising expectations that the Spaniard may just be the one key Fantasy asset immune to any Conte changes following last night’s result.

He might have blanked against West Brom, as did all Chelsea’s major attacking threats, but Fabregas was immaculate and impressive throughout, completing 90% of 109 passes and creating seven chances.

Monday night’s home match against Watford could now be one long celebration in which Fabregas has the scope to be a focal point.

Gareth McAuley
On a disconcerting night for Fantasy managers, even a fortunate bonus from McAuley came packaged with a sting.

Withdrawn after 63 minutes prior to Chelsea’s goal, the centre-back benefited from a clean sheet to return six points for his remaining 1.2 million ownership, although he was benched by 31% of those managers.

Nonetheless, those with the Bench Boost chip in play were no doubt pleasantly surprised by his contribution, although that enthusiasm could be dampened by the knock that saw him withdrawn.

McAuley appeared to suffer an impact injury blocking a shot from Diego Costa. He’ll now be assessed prior to Tuesday’s trip to Manchester City.

In Decline

Diego Costa
Another Chelsea Spaniard, a rather different prognosis.

Costa was the second most popular Gameweek 37 signing, with 162,000+ managers hoping for great things from the striker.

He was also captained by more than 541,000, or 12.8%, making him the Gameweek’s number one armband choice.

All that faith was rewarded with a seventh blank in nine Gameweeks and a fifth successive failure on the road.

Costa’s understudy, Michy Bathshuayi, grabbed his 15 minutes of fame by securing Chelsea’s title win with the only goal of the match at The Hawthorns and there’s now a chance that Conte gives the Belgian his first start of the season against Watford on Monday.

The coach would certainly be well within his rights to wrap Costa in cotton wool ahead of the FA Cup final – the striker is among the most fouled players in the Premier League.

It would be a logical decision for Conte, but a painful one for the Spaniard’s 36.2% ownership.

Eden Hazard
That logic applies tenfold to Hazard.

The midfielder is behind only Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha as the season’s most fouled player, so why would Conte want to risk his star man with a league and cup double so very much in play?

Hazard was subbed off for the fourth successive Gameweek at West Brom – the 24th time he’s failed to finish a match in 34 starts this season.

The Belgian was signed by 40,000+ and captained by over 304,000 (7.1%) for Double Gameweek 37, and yet his returns from the last three matches now stand at just the one assist.

Those who twisted on compatriot Kevin De Bruyne rather than sticking with Hazard must be feeling increasingly optimistic of seeing a profit from that ostensibly risky deal because the Chelsea man’s pre-cup final pitch-time could now be decidedly limited.

Romelu Lukaku
Fair play to the Fantasy gods – at least they had the good grace to spread the misery beyond just Chelsea’s big-ticket players.

The Everton striker was sold by 260,000+ this week, making him the most sold player of Gameweek 37.

Joy for some, then, as Lukaku blanked for a fourth successive match. But that still left 35.4% of us despairing as the Belgian brought his wretched away form – one goal in the last nine road trips – back to Goodison Park.

He had just one shot on goal against Watford last night on his way to a second successive two-point haul at home.

That’s hardly ideal preparation for a final day trip to Arsenal.

The Golden Boot remains his to lose. But on current form, he won’t be adding to his 24-goal tally.

Mason Holgate
The young Everton defender made his eighth straight start against Watford.

That was as good as it got.

Holgate was seen by many as a key asset in the Gameweek 36 Wildcard, with Gameweek 37’s Bench Boost very much in mind.

To be fair, Everton did their bit by keeping a clean sheet last night. Unfortunately for the 7.2% of managers with Holgate in their squads, their man wasn’t around to take advantage.

He was hooked on 45 minutes in a tactical swap that involved Tom Davies at right-back. The move helped turn the tide for Everton, but left 322,687 Fantasy managers floundering in a sea of frustration.

That cost five precious points as Holgate’s lack of an attacking thrust delivered a horribly early blow to many Bench Boost plans.

Throw in all that concern over Chelsea rotation, and Holgate’s 45-minute one-pointer added up to yet another inauspicious Friday for Fantasy managers.

      Begovic
      Zouma Terry Ake
      Aina Chalobah Fabregas Kenedy
      Willian Batshuayi Loftus-Cheek

That's what I'm thinking, only reason I could see any first team players is because of sentiment to allow them to get the crowds adulation for winning the title. But surely with it only being three days after, the FA cup final coming and another home game to allow them some game time there's no way any will play

Low intensity game so not sure he would go that far-) Prob keeper, and some changes in defense, but i think Alonso will play and Azpli is immune to tiredness and injuries so prob play RWB? Kanté might play an hour to get some time on the pitch and i think the trio Pedro; Haz and Costa will play last 20 or so? Both pedro and haz subbed at 75 min so not entirely impossible they start and subbed after an hour (75 minutes is far less exhausting than 90, and according to fitness experts managable to do three times in one week)

No perfect time to rest them

3 games in 2 days why push it
They can still come on late and finish the game to celebrate with home fans
They will play full team vs Sunderland as they need some match fitness for cup

Makes no sense at all to play them at Watford who also have nothing to play for so Conte not screwing anyone over by playing a weak side

problem is that he has played pretty good, but his teammates has not converted his assists and not lucky with referee decision last night, Pedro should have had pen when hitting McClean in the arm. And that attempt to own goal from Hazards pass is pure luck. Annoying to own and especially when he and Sanchez has produced so little last 5 matches and my MLL not owned Sanchez before GW35 and not owned Haz at all last 5. Two digit haul from each would have sewn my Mll, but now just 9 points lead making it all more nervous-)

Are you kidding me? Levy has his faults but his strengths far outweigh them. He has been brilliant for us. We are run the right way, and financially sound. We live within our means. That's not going to change unless we sell our soul get a sugar daddy like City and Chelsea have.

We are also building a new stadium

There's no way we will be forced to sell any of our important players. Poch has said the only players who will be sold are those who are not wanted

The thing about them winning it is it's not really as much of a surprise as people are making out. They won it 2 years ago so as much as people would like you to believe, Conte hasn't really performed a miracle

Conte is a class act. The only thing good about them. I'm half Italian so I kind of appreciate him biasedly.

The same could be said with Claudio raniery and leicster...surely Pearson should take some credit .. raniery didn't do that much in terms of changing anything

Wow, that's a lot of hits!

I mainly take hits when I have a major injury, or I know a player won't play.

It's usually statistically unlikely to pay off. The RMT tool in the member's area is a great indicator of the average points you can expect to get if the player reaches their season projection. It puts it into perspective!

I'm an average player at best, but get better every season. But around 12 weeks ago i was close to a million or, so i just thought stuff it and picked players every week who i thought would do well, even for minus 8's

I'm an awful player. Good with stats, but takes waay too many risks and punts! 😀

It's quite incredible what you've done this season. To take sooo many hits and be in the top 100k is unbelievable!!!

You've got a decent history i think. I'm interested in this topic, mainly because 2 of my mates who have good histories have also struggled this year. Since ive gone hit mad im smashing them

I took a 12 point hit because RMT (factoring in bench boost) gave me just over 12 points in return - good test for it this GW!

Holy cow I think I've taken 4 hits. I'm pretty sure your rank would be a lot better if you'd taken no hits and just stuck with whatever injured/out of form players you were lumbered with at the time

Is that hits or total transfers including FTs?

I've had about 100 points of hits but it's given me my best ever OR. Switching around means you can get the players coming into form and gain TV so you can afford better players later in the season. If you buy well

140, First year playing for money in a few years,, took too many early doors for value.

5 or 6 greens in a row to sneak into the cash hopefully.

All a learning curve, next year definitely not so aggressive... he says now.

I'd say it depends on why you take the hits. This is my third season playing but my first really following this site. At the beginning of this season, I was very knee-jerky and took hits based on emotions and the fear of being priced out should I decide not to bring the player in. (Eg. Zlatan scored twice against Southampton and even though I had other plans involving Alonso who obviously was a better long term pick I just abandoned Alonso and still haven't owned him this season).

Last couple of months though, I don't mind taken a hit every now and then if I'm certain I want to play the guy the following 5-6 weeks. That kind of "dull" playing still has really changed my game and I've jumped a million places since January. Can't wait for next season to try my "new way of playing" out.

Couple of year ago this bloke who said he worked at Eurovision with a little black briefcase cane up to my mate and gave him a card that said " put all your money on Conchita Wurst to win it" then walked off.
This was 2 month before Eurovision and the price was 80/1. Needless to say they nailed it and we both son over a grand. This says to me it is all pre planned and corrupt as hell...but I'll take the dirty money

I could list so many things wrong with the EU, but this isn't really the place for such a heated off-topic conversation.

Not being able to elect its leaders is the death of democracy, and a joint currency does not work with many different countries who need to set their own interest rates.

It was a good idea, that got out of hand.

Such a benefit not playing in Europe. Looking at Chelsea, Leicester and Liverpool in recent times. But looks like all the big teams will be in Europe at some level so will balance out

He's done amazingly. Still think everything has fallen their way but they've been so so consistent.

He's done well though considering he inherited most of that team and changed the system to suit.

I think he was always going to go 3 at the back, you only have to look at Italy.

True, using Moses as a wing back instead of buying in shows he is prepared to work with what he is given.Alonso also isn't the best defender in all honesty.

For the second season running the champions are a club who did not have the distraction of European competition

I don't have any problems with him winning the title. But saying crap like pochettino is in 3rd season is arrogant. Worst part is criticising Manchester clubs for spending money. As if Luiz, kante Alonso and Batshuayi were all free transfers.

The other thing is, and it seems a lot of people are forgetting it, is that most of that team won it two years ago. Downed tools and underperformed last season to get their manager sacked. So it's really just reverting to type for them this season. How he will cope with Europe next season is the big test. Classy guy. Shame he's at Chelsea really

Exactly. Also think people will tire of his 'passion'.
I tired of it in Euro 2016.

I agree with that. Should be at a better club. Very honest but didn't expect him to brag so much.

Mine isn't particularly big but will be a nice bonus if/when I win it. £10 in. 57 players. 70% to winner.

"tens in" - won it last year 370 quid, looking to retain the title and pocket 400 odd quid.
4 points adrift, leader captained costa (?) and bench boosted in 34...
          i'm quietly confident!!

800 pounds in 2 years aint bad. wife still not happy tho...!! 😉

Started of well for me, 7k after 3 gw's and progressively got worse rapidly! 1mill after 12, but have slowly worked my way back up to 13k.. hopefully of top 10, but prb not enough differentials to do it.
