Fantasy Eliteserien – Gameweek 17 Preview

Gameweek 17 will be the last set of Eliteserien fixtures ahead of the league’s summer break. This mean means we can fully focus on Fantasy Premier League before wading back in to Norwegian top flight action next month.

This week Brann, Haugesund and Odd play Europa League qualifiers. Rosenborg played a Champions League qualifier this week, where drew 1-1 withDundalk, so watch out for rotation and injuries. Helland was subbed with an injury during the week and will most likely miss this weekends match against Sogndal.

FANTASY LEAGUE STANDINGS

Colmans Mustard remain top of the Fantasy Football Scout league, but an impressive gameweek score of 80 put Sangomango in second place, just six points behind.

On Giant’s Shoulders has taken the lead in the H2H league.

STOCK CHECK

Rising

Christoffer Remmer (5.4, Molde, defender)

He continues to impress in his wingback role with another assist and a clean sheet away to Aalesund. The Molde man is one of the hottest defenders in the game right now.

Aleksander Megalvis (4.6, Lillestrøm, defender)

Speaking of hot defenders, Megalvis is arguably the hottest of them all right. In his last match he earned a goal and an assist and was  unlucky to not earn a second assist and bonus points. He has now scored two goals (including a penalty) and four assists in the last five games as a right midfielder. Scorching.

Vegar Eggen Hedenstad (6.8, Rosenborg, defender)

Rosenborg haven’t improved at the back, but Hedenstad has beefed up his attacking returns with two goals against Sandefjord, as well as an assist in the Champions League qualifiers this week. With Helland ruled out with an injury this is set to hand Hedenstad a greater share of set pieces.

Erling Knudtzon (8.3, Lillestrøm, midfielder)

Knudtzon continues his impressive goal scoring run with another goal and seven fantasy points in his last run out.

Chigozie Udoji (5.8, Lillestrøm, midfielder)

Partnering Knudtzon up front this guy is going under the radar and is arguably a better value pick than Knudtzon. He’s scored nine points in his two last apperances.

Eirik Ulland Andersen (8.3, Strømsgodset, midfielder)

This man doesn’t stop impressing. Picking up another goal and assist last time out puts him among the top midfielders in the game, although he didn’t start the six first games.

Björn Bergmann Sigurdarson (10.1, Molde, forward)

The best player in Eliteserien right now? He’s certainly right up there. Two goals last weeks means he has now scored seven in the last eight.

Ohi Omoujianfo (7.8, Stabæk, forward)

After a goal against Sandefjord, he followed up with another against Brann. He could easily scored more.

Matthias Vilhjalmson (8.5, Rosenborg, forward)

Vilhjalmson continues to reward those who took a punt on him a while back. He notched eight points last time out and he’s scored 38 in his last five games. Although still not nailed in the team, he has surely done enough to guarantee a place in the starting XI.

Falling

Andreas Lie (5.2, Aalesund, goalkeeper)

Lie continues his fall after a zero pointer against Molde and his third yellow card of the season: he’s now suspended for next week.

Thomas Grøgaard (6.1, Odd, defender)

He’s still out injured and unsurprisingly is one of the most sold players this Gameweek.

Samuel Adegbenro (7.3, Viking, midfielder)

A disappointing blank in a great fixture against Sogndal dents his appeal further. He’s now facing Odd away next Gameweek, who barely concede goals. He’s also expected to leave in the summer break, although it isn’t certain yet.

Tonny Brochmann (7.0, Stabæk, midfielder)

Continuing his blank streak, he now has four blanks in a row.

Anders Trondsen (7.5, Sarspborg, midfielder)

The Sarpsborg midfielder is doing very well for Sarpsborg, but with no attacking returns in six games his Fantasy potential looks grim, even though he has picked up four bonus points over that period.

Daniel Braaten (7.2, Brann, midfielder)

The Brann midfielder missed the game against Stabæk with an injury and makes the “falling” list after blanking in the two previous Gameweeks as well.

Mos (8.9, Aalesund, forward)

Another disappointing week for the Aalesund attacker. He has now blanked in five of the last six Gameweeks.

DIFFERENTIALS FOR GAMEWEEK 16

Haris Hajradinovic (7.3, Haugesund, midfielder)

My top differential pick this week. He’s been doing well recently playing behind the striker for Haugesund and has a good fixture against Aalesund at home this week. Keep an eye on Haugesund’s Europa League qualifier tonight for injuries.

Chigozie Udoji (5.8, Lillestrøm, midfielder)

As mentioned above Udoji is a nice differential to Knudtzon. A good home fixture against Stabæk this gameweek.

Christoffer Remmer (5.4, Molde, defender)

The Molde wingback continues to impress and is up against Strømsgodset at home. Strømsgodset had their best half of football against Kristiansund last week, but their away record isn’t good. There could be potential clean sheet and attacking returns for the 3.1% who own him.

I would like to start a FPL-Draft league with people who play Eliteserien. Is there any interest?

I do play, and I'll join!

Although FPL Draft doesn't seem too popular on here, and within a small subset of the community (i.e. Fantasy Eliteserien players) it might be hard to get a decent number of players. But there's almost 2 weeks to go yet, so that should be enough time to gather interest.

I'd love to, have already gone through one draft on another forum, and I'm loving the makeup of the whole thing even though I was sceptical at the start. Turned out the teams were quite balanced in the end, and the drafting engine itself was easy as pie...

Ok, I've created a FFS Eliteserien Draft League.

      The Code is 213421-55198

It's a Classic league with max. 8 teams. Please use the same teamname that you use in Eliteserien.

And I've created a FFS Eliteserien H2H League at the regular FPL.

The code for this is 431371-329969

It's limited to 20 teams and please use your Eliteserien teamname there too.

I just joined the draft league.

Good call on the 30 second pick time limit. I entered a public draft on the day after FPL Draft released, and it became clear during the draft that the 90 second time limit was unnecessary, and potentially massively time wasting if some people weren't online during the draft.

It's time for Norwegian football's highlight of the year. The annual experience of Premier League packed into a friendly. Commercialized and overpriced as usual.

      33 Adam Larsen Kwarasey

5 Robert Lundström, 4 Jonatan Tollås Nation, 3 Enar Jääger, 21 Simen Juklerød

8 Magnus Lekven, 39 Ernest Agyiri

      10 Ghayas Zahid

7 Daniel Fredheim Holm, 40 Chidera Ejuke, 11 Bård Finne

Melgalvis has an ankle injury but still a few days to deadline. Hopefully will be OK as I will have a full bench if he is out.

I was considering benching Melgalvis anyway, so not a big deal as long as he's back soon.

Reginiussen a doubt as well. Will probably start Seck if both Reginiussen and Melgalvis are out, but tempting to do Reginiussen>Hedenstad this gameweek. All depending on Adegbenro, Omoijuanfo and Leciejewski though.

I wanted Hedenstad if I wild card for this week but so far not enough of my squad are effected by the transfer market. When does the transfer window shut because potentially that is when I wild card.
2 of my first team squad players may be injured and no playing RBK player for there good fixture this GW, unless Helland comes good. May take a hit and get Hedenstad.

        Expected Rosenborg Team:
        André Hansen

Vegar Hedenstad - Johan Bjørdal - Jørgen Skjelvik - Birger Meling

Mike Jensen - Anders Konradsen - Fredrik Midtsjø

Milan Jevtovic - Nicklas Bendtner - Yann-Erik de Lanlay

It looks like Ingebrigtsen will keep Bendtner up front because of his experience.
Ingebrigtsen confirms that Johan Lædre Bjørdal will be a substitute.

Here's a little update on my FPL Eliteserien leagues:

The 8-team Draft league is full. But I decided to start a second Draft league. This time with 16 teams. I know you can't get a balanced squad with so many managers but hey, it's just for fun and maybe it's quite interesting to have some players in your team who you in regular FPL never have ...

The code for the FFS Eliteserien Super 16 Cup is 274225-69433

Please use your Eliteserien teamname when you enter. Players who are already in my 8-team league are of course very welcome too.

In my FFS Eliteserien H2H League at the regular FPL are still 12 available places.

The code for this is 431371-329969

        🙂

Hi Mikkelpop. I just joined your 16 team draft league.

I'm already in in your 8 team one, but I'm more excited for this one. I hope it fills up, which I'm sure it will when more people check in here for the return of Eliteserien this weekend.

I actually think a 16 team draft has the potential to be more active than an 8 team one over the course of a season. Whereas in an 8 team draft most people will be happy with their teams, in a 16 team draft there will be a mad scramble for every free agent or player that breaks into a team during the season.

I joined the 16 team draft league too, but any chance we can change the draft time? My 7-a-side game starts right at the same time with the draft. If not, you can remove me from the league as it won't make sense having a team auto drafting.

I have an FPL squad set but looking forward to Eliteserien more. The second part of the season will be interesting with any transfers in and out, plus double game weeks.
Rosenbourg playing Celtic this week will be interesting to watch.
If they get their defence sorted and start getting CS points I will look at getting one RBK defender.

I'll be all over fpl next week but can't be bothered with losing time to 1000 iterations. Think I may play it differently this season - more stats/auto ticker based as I've been trying with eliteserien (not hugely successfully).

Forgot about Celtic game. Quite happy with Hedenstad & hopefully Jevtovic stays.

Innocent has joined Malmø as well.

That's another indirect hit to other Lillestrøm prospects.

Krogstad moving centrally and Rafn back on the left wing seems likely. LSK have also signed a Nigerian defensive midfielder.

Surely this means the end of either Udoji or Knudtzon as a striker? One of them as a winger, or Udoji to the bench?

Dutch side AZ Alkmaar are very much interested in Rosenborg midfielder Fredrik Midtsjø. Manager John Van De Brom is in Norway to watch them take on Celtic tonight. General consensus here in Holland is that the deal could be done pretty soon.

Sorry Rosenborg fans - but the Mighty Hoops march on!

True, but they need to up their game in playoff, Celtic did not scare anyone out there.....

Still though... when Rosenborg let lose early 2nd half they showed the form that has been missing, ES teams are WAY below what Celtic did there so for the fantasy I'm going some Rosenborg players....

Was at Parched for the 1st Leg - Rosenberg were the better team that night.
Already have 3 Rosenberg players in my Eliteserien Fantasy Team
                    Hedenstad, Jevtovic & Vilhjalmsson
Looking forward to it all starting again on Saturday!

Celtic destroyed Sunderland in a pre season friendly so watching Rosenborg with interest later as an indication of form..
If this is an indication that they can keep clean sheets and getting back to true form I want goal keeper, defender and mid fielder. Will also be looking to see if Jevtovic is going to stay. .

When is Jevtovic on loan until? Wikipedia says 30th June 2017 - was this extended and does it expire when the transfer window shuts on 17th August?

Between Ohi and Jevtovic for Captain, who would you choose?

Considering to save FT this week because of the transfer window.

                Gtg?

                Bråtveit
                Hedenstad, Rolantsson, Melgavis
                Jevtovic, Haugen, Andersen, Knutzon
                Ohi, Mos, Sigurdarson

                Subs: Mcdermott, Sødlund, Ryerson, Moe

Think I'm captaining Jevtovic of the two (also considering Andersen).

And Melgalvis out for a while (ankle ligament), possibly rest of season.

Rosenborg face Ajax in the EuropaLeague playoff. With the away-leg first, squezed in between Molde away and Haugesund at home they might be looking at rotations....

Will it be squeezed in or rbk-fkh just postponed?
(asking as recall earlier suggestion that could be a blank for them)

There has been no indication of Rosenborg requesting a move. Traveltime is minimal for them so they might leave it be... something to keep an eye on though, a blank is even worse than rotation for a lot of teams with 3 from Rosenborg.
