Each week we are reviewing the aggregated predictions on Superbru’s Premier League Predictor game, using the collective Wisdom of the Crowd predictions to guide our fantasy football thinking.
Please join the FFS league here and add your own predictions to the data – the more there are, the more accurate the crowd should be (in theory).
GAMEWEEK 5 REVIEW
Last week’s Crowd prediction data was slightly surprising, with Manchester City predicted to score more goals away at Watford than Tottenham were at home to Swansea – and we know how that turned out, with the aggregated predictions of thousands of football fans proving better than some of our individual predictions.
Congratulations to Vedant Bihani (aka DItur), who won the Yellow Cap in the FFS league and moved up to 11th in the league.
Here are the Gameweek 5 results in descending order of predictability:
The results at Tottenham and Liverpool were the most unexpected – and most disappointing for some – whilst further wins for the Manchester clubs were widely predicted.
We can also review the Predicted Goals Scored and Conceded against the actual results:
Man City were top of the Predicted Goals table before the gameweek, and still they managed to exceed expectations by putting six past Watford. Those holding Spurs and Chelsea’s attacking assets will already know that their players underperformed last weekend.
GAMEWEEK 6 PREVIEW
Here is the Predicted Goals chart for each fixture in GW6:
And here is the ranking of teams in order of Predicted Goals Scored and Conceded:
This is the first time that any team has been predicted to score four goals, and I had to adjust the scale on these charts. Man City are clearly the team to focus on according to the Crowd, with Sergio Aguero topping the captain’s poll, and the likes of Gabriel Jesus and David Silva should also perform well if the Crowd is right.
Clean sheets look scarce this week, but Everton’s improved fixtures are worth keeping an eye on, whilst Newcastle and Burnley are also predicted to perform well in defence, amongst the usual suspects.
Here are the aggregated picks that we’ll enter into the game for Mr Crowd Wisdom in the FFS pool.
Is there anything else that catches your eye in these crowd predictions?
Don’t forget to join the FFS league on Superbru and make your predictions each week so that they are included in these data – the more knowledgeable people there are, the more accurate they should be in theory. Good luck!
