Wisdom of the Crowd – Gameweek 25

Each week we are reviewing the aggregated predictions on Superbru’s Premier League Predictor game, using the collective Wisdom of the Crowd predictions to guide our fantasy football thinking.

Please join the FFS league here and add your own predictions to the data – the more there are, the more accurate the crowd should be (in theory).

GAMEWEEK 24 REVIEW

Swansea’s win over Liverpool was the biggest shock of Round 23, with only 1% on Superbru expecting that home victory.  Tottenham also disappointed the majority, with only 4% predicting their draw at Southampton.

Here are the Gameweek 24 results in descending order of predictability:

Well done to Simon Witham for winning the Yellow Cap in Round 24, having only joined the game this month and is already showing us how it’s done.

Mr Crowd Wisdom – using the aggregated predictions of the crowd – slipped down 7 places, but remains in 57th place out of 460 people.

The aggregated predictions of the community are making better predictions than most individual players in the game, suggesting that there is credibility in the Wisdom of the Crowd concept.

GAMEWEEK 25 PREVIEW

Here is the Expected Goals chart for each fixture in Gameeek 25:

And here is the ranking of teams in order of Expected Goals Scored and Conceded:

A hat-trick for FPL favourite Sergio Aguero was the talk of Gameweek 24, and Man City are way ahead again on the predicted goals chart.  A home match against West Brom should offer further returns for Aguero, and Leroy Sane’s injury should offer further security of starts for the other midfield contenders.

The crowd appears ready to forgive Liverpool their blip last time out, with a trip to Huddersfield likely to be profitable for the likes of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Man City and Chelsea are once again expected to keep clean sheets, whilst Liverpool, Southampton and Arsenal are also worth considering.

Is there anything that catches your eye in these predictions?

Good luck!

Thank you for this! 🙂 I'm not predicting any huge margins of victory either, but a few more cleanies perhaps.
