Arsenal and Newcastle United meet at the Emirates this evening in the tenth match of 15 in Double Gameweek 32.

This is both clubs’ only fixture in this round of games but Unai Emery and Rafael Benitez’s sides will be in action again next weekend in Blank Gameweek 33.

The headline team news concerns the benching of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has now only started two of Arsenal’s last six top-flight fixtures (albeit one he missed through illness).

Alexandre Lacazette leads the line for the Gunners and will be supported in attack by Alex Iwobi and Mesut Ozil.

Aaron Ramsey has shaken off a thigh strain to start but there is no place for the injured Granit Xhaka in the match-day squad.

Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles will feature at wing-back in what appears to be a 3-4-2-1.

That is also the system that Rafael Benitez has come to favour over the past couple of months and there is only one change to the Magpies’ starting XI from the side that drew 2-2 at Bournemouth in Gameweek 31: Jamaal Lascelles replacing Federico Fernandez.

Fabian Schar misses out through suspension.

Salomon Rondon, who has seven attacking returns in his last nine league starts, leads the line again for the visitors and is supported by Miguel Almiron and Ayoze Perez up front.

Benitez’s side have the fourth-best defensive record away from home this season, having conceded 20 goals in 15 matches.

The Magpies haven’t won on their travels since Gameweek 17, however.

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have scored more home goals than Arsenal (37 in 16 matches) this season.

Lacazette hasn’t failed to register an attacking return in any of Arsenal’s last seven league fixtures at the Emirates.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Mustafi, Monreal, Kolašinac; Ramsey, Guendouzi, Iwobi, Özil, Lacazette.

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka, Yedlin, Lascelles, Lejeune, Dummett, Ritchie, Hayden, Diame, Almiron, Perez, Rondon.

Currently leading my mini league, next week I have only 5 playing players, do I take hits to bring in a full squad? Or just cherry pick 3 players and take a few less hits? I'm using my WC the week after anyway in preparation for BB GW35

More hits than that just not worth it for one week only

It's very much dependant on who you are bringing in... if the player you are bringing in has an expectation of 4 or more then in theory it's worthwhile - variance is going to be greater though when you do take a hit, so if it's a close situation it's probably best not to go for it.

Next week there really aren't many standout options that have an exp points of significantly more than 4. Only Robertson in defence has more than 4.5. Salah, Mane and Hazard are the 3 in midfield with more than that.

And up-front; King, Wilson, Higuain (debatable on current form) + (Auba/Laca would both be if gtd to start, but neither are)

Repost from bottom of last page - sorry!

    Team for 33, one dilemma:

    Fabianski
    Robertson / TAA / Luiz / Schar
    Salah / Hazard / Maddison / Fraser
    Vardy / Rondon

No subs currently but a few quid itb. Do I:

    (A) upgrade Fab to a better keeper e.g. Kepa
    (B) upgrade bench fodder def to someone who is playing this week in case of a no-show

One week only as I'll be wild-carding in 34.

    *many thanks!*

    Current 33 lineup:

    Schmeichel - (Foster)
VVD - Lascelles - Wan Bas - Pereira - (Rice)
    Mane(c) - Salah - Haz - Fraser - Westwood
    Rondon - (Aguero - Jim)

    1ft & 1.1itb. Cheers!

Hello, BGW33 issue here. Want to ditch Fanderson but Boruc getting dropped means I should probably sort a keeper instead?

WC34 so Ederson to Schmeichel? Can I justify -4 to get rid of Anderson too?

    Boruc
    TAA / Tarkowski / AWB
    Salah / Mane / Hazard / Fanderson
    King / Wilson / Rondon

    Ederson*/Diop/Pogba*/Bennett*

    Thanks!

Not just the lack of Aguero, Sterling captainers may get a game out of him now I thought he'd be benched for. Not like the previous City double gameweek, this time, Aguero was the standout captain choice with the International break off. FPL luck is a huge thing, some will get it more than others but can't help how the cards fall in situations like this. Can't plan for what you don't know, so can't get mad about it.

Newcastle & Bournemouth look to have decent fixtures for teams still not 100% out of the relegation zone yet. Always so hard to pick the relegation battlers and who's going to be amongst the points, but so far I'm banking on:

    Fraser
    Rondon
    Lascelles

Brighton & Burnley will need to turn it on too... surely there'll be some bargains in there.

Played my wildcard this week and now straight away my team feels lost.

    What to do..

    Foster - Boruc
    Robbo - Luiz - Doherty - Awb - Valery
    Hazard - Mane - Sterling - Pogba - Brooks
    Batshuayi - Jiminez - Aguero

5 missing for GW33, money tied in Doh/Jimi.
    Aguero > Vardy/Wilson?
    Pogba > Maddison/Tielmans?

    Got TC and BB left.

I have money tied in Doherty and Jimi but not sure I'll keep them in WC34. Probably won't if they blank United game

Revisit once the GW is over, you might be a lot happier once Chelsea play Brighton, etc.

With GW 31's disappointment still fresh in the mind, my plan is to bank a FT that week and then focus on GW 34 & 35 for the good double fixtures. After seeing Arsenal tonight too I imagine there's going to be a lot of Aubameyang / Lacazette buying, so better to hold onto likes of Aguero until GW34, then look at some of the nicer sets of fixtures for the last 3.

Basically, bank everything for 34 & 35 and use the BB / TC those two weeks. TC Aubameyang / Lacazette could be great for 35.

    For GW33. Currently have 1FT 0.4ITB.

    Boruc
    TAA Digne Azpilicueta
    Hazard Salah Mane Brooks Xxx*
    Barnes Wilson Xxx*

    Fab, Diop, Schlinder, *Aguero/Pogba

Fab will come on if Boruc doesn’t come back in for Begtoconceedvic.
Either 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 for me.

    Thinking Kun > Vardy

Will WC34. I would lose 0.3mil but I care more about points then TV and Bardy is the key one I am missing 33. Sensible?

I have Barnes so I would like Begovic to play because he lets so many in. His save to goal ratio is awful and tends to make blunders as well.

I think so, I saw him in a gay bar with Begovic.

I captained Kun on my FH dgw team. Nearest rival TC'd him and he's currently 72 pts behind me.

I guess even tho it's bad news for me in a way its very good news also.

I have my TC to play yet and he won't gain much more on me this wk.

        Yeah.
It's been a disaster gw so far. All that planning and I'm only on 47 pts.

He had no FH and an 68 using his TC Kun.

If you're captain only plays one game in a double game week you're vice captain should come into play in the other game.Only fair.

Yep and if you mistakenly captain somebody who gets less points than somebody else then they should automatically switch.
