I know I've done the same... If the players I got in for them don't make the double rise I'll be spewing.

With so many on their WC it's unlikely that prices will jump as much as you'd like unfortunately.

6.9k GW rank and up to 20k OR almost. Having no bench boost is going to likely see me drop a fair amount again though. Just sold Kane on my WC also to afford Coutinho and catch the rise... Felt so wrong.

I am trying to stay with this at the min . Rojo is obviously a problem but I think the balance is right between 34 , 35 and 37 .
        Robles , Darlow

        Clyne , Sakho , Gabriel , Simpson , Rojo

        Lanzini , Mahrez , Firmino , Sanchez , Payet

        Lukaku , Kane , Aguero

          Kane Mahrez

          vs

          Mitro KDB

Need to bring in Coutinho but not sure who to get rid of, Kane or Mahrez or Ozil, need to drop the 1 who definitely won't feature in my final WC team - problem is I haven't decided that yet! Think I'm keeping Ozil.

Mentioned this on the last page.

Would I be right in saying that if you're playing your wildcard, then right now is the most important time for having funds in the bank? The coming weeks won't matter as much, as we won't be making wholesale changes. It's right now that the money is most important.

At least I'm telling myself that to make the selling of players I've profited from easier...

A well financed team to date is the difference between 2 cheap defenders and two premiums, or being able to have a full line of midfielders for your DGWs. It is definitely important at this stage of the season.

Is everyone really convinced that Robles will play the rest of the season? Howard is bound to get a few games, especially since he's been there nearly a decade and he's leaving at the end of the season. Everton don't have much to play for either.

I know I'm probably just stirring up trouble, but a whole lot of the WC talk involves the terror of dropping Kane, Mahrez, Alli, or others who have scored well up to now. Can I just suggest that this is a collective hysteria? They are good assets, but they are not so good they cannot be outscored over double or triple the fixtures. I just brought in Martial this week for GW34, and he outscored Kane this week. That does not, obviously, mean he will outscore him every week, but it means he can, and why not have him twice? I beg you, let go of Mahrez, Vardy, Kane, and Alli. It will feel better. It will hurt for a little while, but you will forget the pain when the multiple GW points start pouring in. Discuss.

          Old friend, I agree 100%.

Fear is the only thing holding people back. If you look at the big picture, 2 games vs 1 game is a huge swing.

I feel if the two are equally capable of attacking returns (Martial and Kane for instance) then it is worth losing the player with 1 less fixture, even though he's "in form" or "essential" in some people's eyes.

        3. Jay_
            8 years, 7 months ago

I sold them all too, felt liberating and worked out fine, barr one gameweek(35) I don't fear not owning them at all for any gameweek from now until end of season

You could be right. But you have to look at 33 and 35 as well - Mahrez away at Sunderland is huge in 33, Kane and Alli at home to west brom and Leicester at home to Swansea in 35 are very promising... Plus in 34 itself I would fancy Spurs to put a few past Stoke with their strong away form. Dgw players could of course beat them over that run but I feel they remain a reliable source of points, where punts on not-so-in-form dgw players are somewhat risky

Can't really disagree. I WCd GW32, and kept Mahrez for the possibility of GW35. I am not sure I am happy about it, and he might become Cout or Firm. I would love to have Kane for 35, but it's about what you lose between now and then. I do not mean to say that you should under no circumstances keep one, only that you should let go of the idea of them, and construct your team (and plan) from scratch, without worrying about whether it is somehow wrong to let one of them go.

Yeah fair enough. I guess because I'm WC in 36 transfers are precious and I'm concentrating on the positives of not getting rid of them! I might end up selling Kane and Alli for 34 and getting them back for 35. And I've already sold Vardy. So I agree with your sentiments. There's definitely arguments to be made that at least Kane and Mahrez are amongst the most desirable attackers though I reckon

throw enough mud at the wall and some of it will stick ? . I can still do well if I own the right players . If you end up with 15 dgw players and your differentials are Bolaise , Barkley etc I will not be particularly frightened . The only one I am apprehensive about it is KDB . I want to set myself up for gw 35 and when I overload on dgw players I end up with a god awful team in 35 . I also have a poor t.v which is limiting my options. My team is above I would welcome a fresh perspective

          Mignolet / Robles

          Sakho / Souare / Simpson / Bellerin / Evans

          Sanchez / Lennon / Payet / Countinho / Iwobi

          Kun / Lukaku / Kane

          Hennessey
          Bellerin, Jagielka, Fuchs
          Payet, Mahrez, Coutinho, Barkley
          Welbeck, Lukaku(C), Kane

          DDG, KDB, Sakho, Gabriel

Sets up quite well with 4 DGW for GW33 then 12 DGW for GW34 with Bench Boost, 10 players for GW35 and 8 DGW for GW37.

He may not rise if most of those buying him today were doing so on a wildcard.

Think I've found a pretty tasty wc33 for bb34 and beyond-

          De Gea - Robles

          Smalling - Bellerin - Sakho - Gabriel - Mangala

          Sanchez - Mahrez - Coutinho - Lennon - Lanzini

          Aguero - Lukaku - Kane

          ........................

I would then transfer out de Gea gw35 - Mignolet who then has Stoke (H) followed shortly by DGW 37.

Easy fixtures in the Dgw and good gw35 fixture. Gabriel is a risk but at his price may be worth it.

They have great home fixtures so great CS potential. A double up could provide some great points. Gabriel is playing well and will only get dropped if he has a howler, or Arsenal collectively have a howler.

I'm thinking of tripling! I want 3 arsenal due to their fixtures but their forwards are too uncertain and their mids too expensive. Home to palace, wba, norwich and villa. Should be lots of clean sheet points there even if I will miss out on the attacking returns.

Allows one to bring in a man city midfielder while having two strong Arsenal defenders and one stud Arsenal mid. Arsenal have a dgw, easy games, no blank in gw35, and Gabriel's price is quite an enabler. A bit of a win win when a combo of Ozil and Sanchez is quite expensive. Sorta a second best scenario given limited funds.

Intrigued about Jontys view on Alexis. I was banging on about Alexis (c) all this week and Jonty has been firmly against him (poor stats). But surely if he watched the Watford match he will see Alexis as nigh on essential now!

If you watched the match you'd think his header was tame and Comes gave him a gift by palming it straight out to him.

Andfor his assist Iwobi did everything himself.

              He scored well this week

            Gabriel - Sakho - Mangala - Delaney - Saylor

            Payet - Sanchez - Mahrez - KdB - Coutinho

            Lukaku - Aguero - Kane

            B.

            Cech - Darlow

            Gabriel - Sakho - Oxford - Delaney - Saylor

            Payet - Sanchez - Mahrez - KdB - Coutinho

            Lukaku - Aguero - Kane
