Continuing our members articles which examine the numbers behind the previous four Gameweeks, we now switch our attention to the midfield area. With a packed festive programme providing hat-tricks for Santi Cazorla, Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott, it was a period which again saw the heavy-hitting midfielder come to the fore. Incredibly, however, that trio were surpassed by the performances of a player who has rolled back the years to recapture a level of returns and consistency that we perhaps thought were behind him.
Never mind FPL, what about Bradford City? Winning 3-1 over Villa makes the 2nd semi leg well worth watching.
Open ControlsSafe to say Epic wont agree!

Downing you beast!

What to do with this side haven't wildcarded yet. I want Bale 🙁Open ControlsHacker.
Open ControlsOoof, you need to wildcard the shit out of that team.
Open ControlsTell me wat shit?
Open Controls
Thanks 😉
Open ControlsLink not bringing me to your squad mate . Would you mind posting it please
Open Controls- Open Controls
Huh, judginf from the RMTs, Bale and Walcott have fallen by the wayside ... but these numbers speak otherwise.
Guess I'll just avoid chasing the DGW Dragon and stick with the boring ole' template.
Oh, and RVP captain.Open Controlsi think if i hadnt seen bradford beat a fairly full strength villa, i wouldnt be playing any southampton players infront of bale et al...............i have a doubt now
Open ControlsI think taking FA results too far can become a minefield. I'll stick ... and probably cry tears of regret.
In other words: "Saturday"Open Controls
Someone just asked me when Aston Villa kick off... "Usually about every 20 minutes."
Open ControlsMaking me seriously wonder about Gerrard after the horror fixtures

FAULKSP SAYS:
I have gone weeks with just Begovic since the Ruddy injury and done ok. Wild card activated and thinking of bringing Turnbull in for the double…..bought ivanovic and have Mata
Yay or Nay

views on Azpelicueta and Kyle Naughton for wildcard team?
Open ControlsAzpilicueta, not really an offensive threat. If you think he will get the clean sheets... I'm still on the verge with him.
Naughton, I think he's a great choice if you have the bench. He has as good prospects in deffense and offense as any defender in his and Spurs' current form, but will miss some games probably.Open ControlsHe's already fit. Naughton still played great in the last matches and could keep a place or start on the right. But it seems sure to be some rotation, when in this team even Vertonghen isn't guaranteed, the fullbacks will surely rotate. But when Naughton plays, he's be great for the price, I actually will consider him now.

Safest bet for Chelsea defensive coverage has to be Ivanovic, right?
Open ControlsHard to predict. Cant figure out who could be dropped for Terry if he makes it back, him.or Cahill. Both have done really well
Open ControlsI'd wait until tomorrow...Favoured line up tonight for the dgw may look totally out of date by then...Hazard brace..Ba sent off...Torres has a shot...anything could happen...
Open Controls
Rate my team please and any changes I should make. Still have both wildcards
.also who should I branch this week
Bego,bunn
Davies,Mertz,nastastic,clyne,o’brien
Bale,michu,Walcott,Fellaini,mata
Ba,benteke,RVP
Also I have 1.4m in the bankOpen ControlsThink of some options and come back to us dude. Its your team at the end of the day. But i will say 3 words Double. Game. Week
Open Controls
Gerrard is a lot more effective when playing in the hole, a position he might not retain. Discuss.
Open ControlsSo are both Moses and Mikel off to the AKON? If so that reduces the chances of Rafatation
Open ControlsThinking that Chelsea's midfield may be the safest area to play then
Open ControlsFPL lists 12 Chelsea mids. 2 are red flagged Benayoun/Romeu. 2 are AKON Mikel/Moses. 3 do not feature Piazon/Malouda/Marin.
That leaves Mata/Hazard/Ramires/Lampard and Oscar (possibly Marin). But Luiz is currently oop as a cdm. That is 6 players competing for 5 spots if Ba/Torres are not played "in the hole".
So if Benitez continues 4-4-1-1 it looks like the mids are your best bet.
Oh, everyone has stopped reading 🙂Open Controls
Question...
I'm chasing my rival who has a 40 pt lead. He is playing his wildcard this week and will probably load his team full of DGW players.
Which is the best strategy?
A) Play my wildcard and load my team full of DGW players
B) Hold off playing my wildcard until after the DGW, playing with only a handful of DGW players and hope my subsequent wildcard will give me the advantage post DGW
I'd rather not post my wildcard team, as you are all probably sick of seeing them and my rival uses this site regularly. I'd really appreciate some advice on general strategy.
Many thanks!Open ControlsB
Open ControlsHold off.
Is it Lawro youre chasing?! 😉Open Controlsit all depends on the current state of your team, and probably his too.
Open ControlsMine is linked.
He will have RVP, Suarez, Ba, Mata, Michu, Walcott, Gibbs et al.Open Controls
B, but play some strong non dgw players like bale and fellaini
Open Controls
This makes me love my WC midfield.
Open ControlsThe usual. Mata Bale Fellaini Walcott Michu.
Open ControlsI just cant get a good team around that lot, unless I take Ruiz as my benchable forward. Who you going with up top?
Open ControlsNot 100% sure on who i'll pick upfront yet, a lot depends on my defence. At the moment I am going with RVP Ba(one week punt) & Pog. I think Ruiz could be a solid pick. He'll consistently chip in with points.
Open Controls
Good evening everyone 🙂
So this is my team for next GW :
Bego
Ivanovic / Nastasic / Gibbs
Mata (VC) / Michu / Walcott / Snodgrass
RVP / Ba (C) / Suarez
Subs : Jaask, Sterling, Davies, Shorey
Need some advices :
1) Is Sterling to Puncheon worth -4 hit ?
1a) If YES then - should I bench Snodgrass or Michu ?
2) Should I change Begovic with Jaask ?
3) Any changes you would make to the team ?
Cheers! 😉Open Controlsnaa puncheon will only make 4 points if hes lucky. all he has is pace that villa can match. bout the only thing they can match, get lambert in there
Open ControlsMate, kingoftherunts you're deluded, puncheon is a huge goalthreat. I wouldnt even class that move as a punt, take the hit.
Open Controls
Is the general consensus around the regulars/"highly ranked" that 352 isn't the way to go and stick to 343 for the WC ?
Open ControlsIm ranked 220 and am going with 3-5-2. I'm not saying i'll stick to it longterm but for now, with form and fixtures of certain players, it looks like the way to go.
Open ControlsStill undecided... Either could be massive, i suspect the 3-5-2 will be the bigger differential despite it seeming like most on here are (were) doing it
Open Controls3-4-3 for me, but then again you are ranked 12k higher than me.
Open ControlsU don't want my opinion then hey ho
Open Controls5-2-3
Open Controls
Which combo is better? Suarez & Puncheon or Mata & Lambert? Worried about not having Mata & how Sturridge affects Suarez. Have Ba if this helps. Cheers
Open ControlsI'm worried about Sturridge disrupting things too 😛 I think Mata is a must have, so for short term, with Chelsea's fixtures and the uncertainty of Sturridge sturring things in the Liverpool cauldron, I'd choose option B.
Open Controls
RMT (pre January Wildcard):
Jaask (Begovic)
Gibbs Azpi Demel (Nelsen, Gorkks)
Bale Michu Walcott Mata (Sterling)
RvP Ba Suarez
Should I get Fellaini or Ba in there?Open ControlsFellaini or Berba*?
Open Controls
Luiz wont rise tonight will he? Can only afford him at 6.6
Open ControlsThe bloody Michu, Fellaini or Walcott benching conundrum is doing my head in. I was gonna bench Gaston but not now he's playing the uber crap Villa (mind you they may do the unexpected, ala vs Liverpool)
Open ControlsDefinitely not Fellaini. It's a toss up between the other two.
Open Controlspersonally would bench walcott this week, citys defence look good at the moment, but he has the biggest potential to pull off something special
Open Controlsso double or nothing on walcott i think, no middle ground for him
