Chelsea are giving nothing away about the status of Petr Cech for the Boxing Day game with Villa. Cech had his scan today which should only brusing of his side but there’s no real indication as to whether that will keep him sidelined for the Boxing Day game.

“Scans have shown bruising around Petr’s hip and side”, announced Chelsea officials today.

“We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days and hope to have him back playing as soon as possible.”

Right. And what about his possible replacement, Chelsea number two, Carlo Cudicini. He’s suffering from a rib injury so perhaps Chelsea could give us some info on his status?

“Carlo also continues to make good progress from his rib injury and, again, we hope to have him available again as soon as possible”, announced the club.

Okay. So that’s both keepers hopefully back “as soon as possible”. Thanks for clearing that up. Hilario it is then.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
