Hull City have agreed a deal with United for the loan of striker Manucho.

The towering Angolan striker will need a work permit before he can make his debut for Phil Brown’s side but they are hoping that this can be sorted for the Arsenal game this weekend.

This is potentially a very interesting development for fantasy managers. Manucho has the talent to make an impact at the KC stadium and is available for a modest price across the games….

The striker was on loan at Panathinaikos in last season’s transfer window and went on to score 4 goals in 7 appearances for the Greek club. After complications with work permits and a suspected metatarsal injury, he turned out for United in September last year and made his Premier League debut against Stoke in November.

While he has so far struggled to make an impression at Old Trafford, his credentials are demonstrated by his international form. He was voted into the team of the tournament in the African Cup of Nations last year, after scoring four goals for Angola.

The main issue in fantasy terms could be his availability. Many games won’t yet list the striker. In the Fantasy Premier League game however, he comes in at 6.0, putting him in the same bracket as Hull striker Marlon King, who will now be under increased threat for a starting role.

Currently listed as a United player, we’ll have to wait for his status to change to Hull before stepping up interest. Once this is in place, he will surely come under serious consideration in the low-to-mid price bracket.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
