We have our last post of 2009 then and it’s time to wish you, our loyal visitors, a Happy New Year.

At the risk of gushing a tide of sentimental rubbish over your keyboards I’d like to take this opportunity to offer thanks to a few parties.

First of all I’d like to say a big thanks to the team of contributors that have helped to drive this site forward over the past six months and more. They’ve all made excellent individual contributions and have worked brilliantly as a team behind the scenes. Personally, I’m very excited about what we can deliver in the year ahead and beyond.

Secondly of course, I want to thank you guys for the superb support you have shown for the site. The traffic around these parts continues to grow (December was our busiest month in our history) and the community we’ve built here is vibrant, knowledgeable and loyal.

As many of you know, earlier this year traffic levels forced me to make a decision to invest financially in the site in order to maintain it and to grow it for the future. As I result, after almost three years, I made the decision to welcome donations to help fund the dedicated server, the chat room and the podcast hosting. Initially the plan was to fund the server for a short period but I’m glad to say that the donations received have enabled me to keep this server on, which has been a godsend as the month on month traffic grows.

So many many thanks to those who have made a donation or subscribe to the site. Your continued donations, along with the partnership with Paddy Power (a big thanks goes out to those guys too), will hopefully enable me to keep the server on for the foreseeable future. We may even be able to upgrade.

It’s been a difficult 2009 for me personally but through it all, this site has offered me a huge amount of entertainment and satisfaction. I’m very proud of what we have here. I know the rest of the team feel the same. You should too. Long may it continue. Thanks again.
