The Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, is back for its second run. This time round the first come first served entry system has been scrapped. Thanks to the poll last week, everyone who submits an entry has a chance to make the first round. Scores from Gameweek 29 (including point hits) will be ranked and the top 511 will join reigning champion donnellyc in the first round.

For those that do not know, the Fantasy Football Scout Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the winner is the person highest in the overall standings. The winner will then progress to the next round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup…

Each gameweek the number of teams will halve, and when the competition reaches the last 16, Mark and Granville will make live draws on the podcast as we reach our exciting conclusion on the final day of the season.

How do I enter?

Entry is now open to registered users of the site (one entry per person… obviously), and there is only one way to enter the cup; you must email me at akers@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with these very specific details:

  1. Fantasy Football Scout Site User Name (nickname used to post comments with)
  2. Link to your Fantasy Premier League team or ID number

Simple enough but make sure the link you provide is the correct one. This link can be found by clicking ‘History’ under your kit on your team page. It should be of the form ‘http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/entryhist.mc?id=X’ (where X is your unique 1 to 7 digit team ID number). N.b. Valid links do NOT end ‘myteam.mc’. If you fail to provide both these details, then you will not be entered into the qualifying round. Please do not create a new, cup-specific team, only enter your existing team.

Also note that I will not be able to give everyone confirmation that they have submitted their details correctly, so please take care when doing so.

When does it start?

All entries received before the Gameweek 29 deadline will be entered into the qualifying round. The first round proper of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup II will be Gameweek 30.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published a couple of days after GW29 has finished. [N.b. This may coincide with the publication of the first round fixtures.]

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published in an article a few days before each deadline.

What is the prize?

Along with a considerable amount of pride, the winner will take their place on the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame. This also gives them automatic qualification for future cup tournaments.

Is there a cash prize?

As alluded to earlier, Paddy Power are sponsoring the competition again and providing some great prizes for Paddy Power customers performing well in the competition. The prizes are as follows:

  • 1st place – £200 deposited into their Paddy Power account
  • 2nd place – £100 deposited into their account
  • 3rd place – £50 deposited into their account

On top of that, there is a weekly prize of a £25 bet (deposited to their Paddy Power account) up for grabs for the highest individual score (minus transfer penalties). In the event that more than one person has the high score, the winner will be whoever is placed highest overall.

Paddy Power can only supply these prizes to those over 18 and with a Paddy Power account. In addition, please note that accounts are not available to those in the following countries:
