Arsenal today showed they may just have the bottle for a battle this season. Arsene Wenger would have no doubt loved getting one over his arch-nemesis Sam Allardyce with a 2-1 win at Ewood Park, but with 64% of possession, perhaps the ease of which the Gunners controlled the match was surprising, given Blackburn‘s typical in-yer-face style.

With Theo Walcott’s first-half net-buster giving him four league goals in the last week now, no doubt there will be a bandwagon rolling for the young winger, as he (whisper it) seems to be discovering something approaching consistency after a couple of season’s false promises. After the game, he admitted:

I’ve had a good think in the summer – I didn’t blame anyone else for not being at the World Cup but didn’t read too much into it because I had a nice break, I’ve not had one for a long time. Now I just want to get playing and show people what I can do…it’s for me to push on and get on the goal sheet a bit more often.

Priced at just £7.1m in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), huge investment in Walcott already today means he is set for a price increase tonight and with a two week international break now upon us, there’s every chance his price will increase further before Gameweek 4 as Fantasy managers tinker with their squads. He has already beaten last season’s goals total, and equalled his Premier League best of four goals for the Gunners.

Wenger’s side have a two tough away fixtures in their next eight Premier League games but with five very kind games to come at the Emirates (BOL, sun, WBA, che, BIR, mcy, WHM, NEW), Arsenal look a plum choice for investment over the next few weeks, particularly with Cesc Fabregas returning to the starting XI after his World Cup summer exhertions.
