After a summer of “Will he/Won’t he” stories filling the tabloids on an almost-daily basis, the summer transfer window finally slammed shut with Cesc Fabregas’ proposed move to Barcelona off the agenda for at least another season. Great news for both Arsenal fans and football followers alike then, as the Premier League is, once again, fortunate enough to play host to one of the game’s great talents.

Arsene Wenger has been careful in easing his star man back into action following the Spaniard’s World Cup exertions, with last weekend Fabregas’ first 90 minutes of the season. With Arsenal‘s injury list seemingly never ending- Nicklas Bendtner, Robin van Persie, Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby, Samir Nasri and Thomas Vermaelen all taking turns in joining long-term absentee Aaron Ramsey on the sidelines this season after just four games in- Fabregas’ value to the cause has never been greater.
