Now the hustle and bustle of pre-deadline nerves is over we can all sit down to another enjoyable gameweek of footballing action as the points roll in, starting with…. oh.

Abort, Abort, Abort.

Saturday kicks off with Wigan playing host to Wolves, perhaps the most interesting fact from this game being… nope, I’ve got nothing.

However, we take what we’re given, and if you can draw yourself away from the Ryder Cup for long enough, then you will see that Jordi Gomez is granted a rare start for Wigan behind the recovered Franco Di Santo. Mick McCarthy meanwhile has given us no great surprises, the line-ups in full are…

Wigan XI: Al Habs; Boyce, Gohouri, Alcaraz, Figueroua; McCarthy, Thomas; N’Zogbia, Gomez, Rodallega; Di Santo.

Wolves XI: Hahnemann; Foley, Craddock, Berra, Ward; Edwards, Henry, Mancienne, Jarvis; Fletcher, Doyle.

After this however we have six 3 o’clock kick offs that may excite the palette just a little bit more as – amongst others – West Brom play host to Bolton, Manchester United travel up to Sunderland and Redknapp invites Houllier down to London for a big day out in the Capital.

The Dugout Discussion will be open through all the days action as usual. Godspeed.

      Open Controls

        1) Because Albrighton hasn't played a full game every week
        2) Villa's away results haven't been great
        3) Newcastle's away form has been better
        4) Carroll's average points > Albrighton's
        5) Carroll has more bp's

        Weekend's not over yet.

If Berba only comes on to collect a 1pt haul he'll be transferred out by a fair few I reckon although it would seem he is almost guaranteed to start the next game at OT against West Brom after this.

Seems strange to rest him though as he doesn't have any international commitments ahead so would have a rest then.

All those who, like me,are WCing in the international break to improve their team value-I have a question for you.I don't understand the concept of buying players who are about to go up in price by 0.2 and then selling them so that you can make 0.1 profit. But surely anyone who is going up in price by 0.2 is a good player that you will want to keep in your team rather than just buy and sell for the sake of money? And even if that player is not a part of your image of your final WC team and if there is someone else who is hot property at the moment that you want in your WC team, won't he be going up in price too, similar to your temporary replacement?
For example,Gerrard is on 73% on TotalFPL at the moment and quite possibly he will be rising twice before the next GW deadline. But I don't want him in my final WC team, instead I want Fabregas. So while I buy Gerrard and wait for him to rise 0.2 and then sell him, isn't it possible that Fabs will be rising twice simultaneously and that if I have to get Fabs to beat the price rise,I'll have to sell Gerrard before he rises twice? So what do I stand to gain? Please,if someone can explain? Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post and sorry if I confused you.;)

yeah dont bother trying to gain team value. just use the wild card to get in hte players you want before they rise and get rid of all the players you dont want before they fall. if you are unsure then get in some that look likely to rise 0.2, then u might make 0.1 off them.

      Mak,

usually you'd be right about the 0.2 risers being players you want to keep. However, sometimes there are ill thought out bandwagons that can be hopped on and off in a GW to make 0.1.

As for your Gerrard/Fab example, if you look at the fantasytools website, you'll see that Fab is a lot more likely to fall to 11.7 than rise this next GW. So if you are playing your WC, there is nothing to fear by getting Gerrard in and hoping for a 0.2 rise before transfering him out for Fab at the end of the GW.

Also, once Fab is no longer red or yellow flagged, he'll be protected from price rises for a while, so you needn't worry about him shooting up in price.
