A game being billed as the most important Merseyside derby in years kicks off a double bill of Sunday afternoon fixtures. NESV-owned Liverpool travel up the road to city rivals Everton, with both sides looking for only their second win of the campaign.

Everton will already be confident of inflicting defeat on their arch-rivals for the first time in the league for over four years, but that confidence will be bolstered with the team news. Jamie Carragher fills in at right-back for the injured Glen Johnson, Steven Gerrard partners Lucas Leiva in defensive midfield and Phil Jagielka passes a late fitness test to play…

Everton XI: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Heitinga, Arteta, Osman, Cahill, Yakubu

Liverpool XI: Reina, Carragher, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, Cole, Maxi, Torres

The final game of the day sees Manchester City visit Bloomfield Road, with most fantasy-managers praying for contrasting returns for a certain Argentinian. That game kicks off at 4pm.

The Dugout Discussion is open as usual and is awaiting your participation.

    Foster Krul
    Kolarov Samba Faye Jara Foley
    Fabregas Nani Arteta VDV Ferguson
    Drogba Tevez Carroll

    Bank: 0

What is the thoughts on the team? My only problem is perhaps the defence. Kolarov and Samba are good and both will be attacking threats in their teams aswell as solid defensively.

The two people I am considering in my defense are those a lot have: Coleman and Al Muhammadi. I had Al-Muhammadi from the start and he got me a clean sheet but I got rid before his Attacking Points/Bonus. These are again attacking threats and in a team I would look to be getting some clean sheets as well.

    My questions are though:

    1. Is Coleman likely to play mid-term (ie the next 4 weeks atleast?) The transfer woulf be Faye>>>Coleman, probably this week.
    2. Who would you pick Samba or Al-Muhammadi? They have some tougher fixtures like Chelsea, Liverpool and Sprus away, but also have Newcastle and Wigan in there during consecutive gameweeks?
    3. Thoughts on attacking part of my team?

ffs cup exit induced mini rant.
    tevez's goals this season:
    1) - claims a goal from 1 yard against liverpool even though he doesn't even appear to get a touch. jammy factor 10/10
    2) - skrtel hacks down adam johnson, tevez tucks away the pen. jammy factor 5/10 as it was a pen.
    3) - that joe hart assist. long goal kick, wet pitch diame header balls skids perfectly into tevez's path and he chips in deliciously. jammy factor 4/10 - the wet pitch made it a goal.
    4) - tevez runs half the length of the pitch and his shot manages to somehow nutmeg ashely cole. jammy factor 8/10 for the nutmeg
    5) - williamson tackles tevez outside the area, plus possibly wins the ball. tevez is awarded a pen and makes a hash of it but it goes in off krul's foot. - jammy facotr 10/10, never a pen.
    6) - tevez is offside and scores today - jammy factor 9/10 - would be 10 but the finish was crazily good.
    7) tevez fouls evatt by treading on his foot, collects the ball and then his hsot deflects into the opposite corner from where it was heading. jammy factor 9/10.

please karma, please start kicking in 🙂

I thought Silva was more entitled to BP's than Tevez. The Argentine had a slice of luck for each of his goals, whereas Silva changed the game a fair bit in City's favour when he came on, and he also scored the winner.

AJ got 3 BP's last time out with a cameo role, so it's not like Silva's lack of minutes today can be counted against him.
