With a quarter of the season now gone, we’ve decided to cast an eye over the shooting accuracy of the Premier League’s finest in this, our latest Numbers Game article for Members.

In order to eliminate most anomalies here, only those players who have had at least 10 shots at goal and have at least 2 goals are analysed. This still leaves a substantial sample size of the top flight’s main men to scour over and turns up the usual array of interesting results.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Guys and girls, please take a minute to marvel at the sheer brilliance of my XI for this weekend.

    Jaaskelanien
    Alex Salcido Elmohamady
    Fabregas (c) Nasri Nani Young
    Drogba Hernandez Carroll

No need to tell me that it's spectacular, I already know it is. 😆

    Good night all!

you realize because his name's enrique he plays for newcastle and not spain right? it's a derby, there's sure to be goals and newcastle will definitely be on the receiving end- arsenal just exposed more holes in their defense than swiss cheese.

I figure bale vs o'shea could be a disaster (from o'shea's point of view)- obviously I'm anticipating evra being given the winger's role again as park played midweek...

And you never know with etherington, he can score points when you least expect (and also my bench is crap...)

It's possible that Nani will switch to the left, and Fletcher (or even Park) play on the right, to give O'Shea some protection. Evra can deal with Lennon on his own at left back.

Really can't decide myself. Krul or Foster. Krul doesn't seem to make many saves. I expect neither to keep a clean sheet so maybe Foster for save points. Then again it's the "rule" when unsure go for the home team.

No idea to be honest. He could easily be back for WBA and play or be benched or still be in Argentina,

Thinking about it. Dont much like his fixtures. Thought about it pre his injury and he could easily be benched for his comeback game at WBA.

So it all points to selling. For who ? It would have been Davies only for the 4 yellow cards tight rope he is on.

On my WC, sold Tevez (who I bought at 10.4) for Chamakh just now. Talked myself into it with the aul price analysis:

Tevez got 50% NTO today alone, and having been 20%ish towards a rise, he is now 33% in the red, towards falling. If he replicates today's NTO (getting 50%) he'll be at about 80% for a fall tomorrow night. I reckon a drop tomorrow is very likely - his ownership is very high, and it's almost a rule that transfer activity is at it's highest every friday/saturday morning. The transfer activity should mirror what happened today, but it should be on a greater scale, given that it's friday and more people will be noticing the yellow flag. Hopefully a 65% NTO instead of today's 50% NTO pushing him over the 100% to drop - I expect tevez to drop tomorrow night.

Chamakh has 60% towards a rise today, and he's just over the 100% so he rises in about 35 mins. Again, if he mirrors today's transfer activity tomorrow, he could get about 60-70% of the way towards a rise tomorrow. Obviously, given that he rises tonight, his NTI needed will double. But this figure is reset on saturday afternoon once the deadline passes. So going on the basis that he won't rise again tomorrow night (due to the doubled NTI threshold) but looking forward to saturday when his threshold is reset; he could get the 60-70% needed tomorrow, and then the final 30% needed on saturday when morning transfers are common. Once the NTI is reset, he could have hit the 100% by saturday night and rise again.

A lot depends on how he does against West Ham, a goal or an assist and I would be very confident in that being enough to ensure the market goes as I have predicted above, with a second rise saturday night...

With one tevez fall and one chamakh double rise I've only "lost" .1m on the transfer. If tevez isn't ok for West Brom, having not played against wolves, you can be sure he will drop again, breaking even. This is the plan, in theory. May well go balls up, but sure.

Don't really know why I posted this, scandalously nerdy, but sure. My two cents! 😀

didnt read all of it, a few bits of it, but all i can say is youre paying waaaayyyyyyyyy too much attention to price changes. They dont matter a toss unless youre worried you wont be able to afford someone, and if you keep concentrating on increasing value that wont mean diddly squat really towards the end of the season, youre not gonna get as man ypoints as you would if you did similar writeups/research on point scoring potential.

I agree completely mate, but I had 0 in the bank with tevez. Now have 2.4, .3m short of buying him back when he's ready again. I usually dont play the money game (my team value is quite low tbh), but in this instance I was slightly concerned about tevez drops/chamakh's rises, as it was the difference between me being able to bring tevez back in in one transfer or not. Im on my WC, so the transfer out is free.
