A tasty home tie with the bottom-of-the-table team saw Fantasy managers transfer in Arsenal players in their droves prior to today’s games, but thanks to the heriocs of Rob Green, the vast majority will be bitterly disappointed.

The West Ham keeper made a fantastic 10 saves as he kept the Gunners at bay time and again before Alex Song finally made the breakthrough for Arsene Wenger’s side with an 88th minute header.

On the back of last week’s impressive 3-0 win at Eastlands, Samir Nasri was acquired by 172,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, Marouanne Chamakh by 107,000 and Cesc Fabregas by 48,000, as many expected a rout against Avram Grant’s strugglers. Indeed, our Captain’s Poll was fairly indicative of this optimism, with all three being in the top four slots for Gameweek 10.

Song, on the other hand, was brought in by a mere 4,000 managers, despite his goal at Man City last Sunday. Bearing in mind he is owned by only 2.6% of FPL bosses, the fact he has outscored the aforementioned players shouldn’t, therefore, have too much effect on the overall team rankings.

Song has now found the net 3 times in the league already this season, and given that his previous season’s best has been 1 goal, he’s showing a fair eye for goal this time round. He seems to have been given a remit to roam further forward than he’s used to, and so far it’s paying off.

Arsenal have now won their last five games in all competitions, but are making hard work of things at the Emirates in the league of late. Their last three home matches has seen a loss and two wins by just the one goal against opponents they have been expected to dispatch of with ease. Gameweek 11 allows them the opportunity to remedy that, as Newcastle make a trip to the Emirates.

Results elsewhere mean the much-maligned Green can take no consolation at all in his display, as fellow strugglers Wolves win over Man City gives them a three point gap over the Hammers at the bottom. Still, there’s always a bright side, Rob. At least you don’t do this every week.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I am a Spurs supporter right but I always wanna see things like I am a neutral (at least I try).

Film of the game from my view:

First half: Man Utd. and Spurs played like equal to equal but it was evident there were two different styles of play. Spurs with some really short guys (Keane, Modric, Lennon, BAE, and maybe Van Der Vaart) trying with the ball down, playing too many passes at times and Man Utd. being clever with fast guys at the wings (Rafael, Park, Nani) to entirely block Spurs wings and attack with every opportunity. There were not many things to separate the teams but it was obvious Spurs would have serious problems at set piece while Bale was clearly not ready for this match and/or Rafael won almost all the battles between those two. At the very first serious set piece by Utd. and a fine delivery of a free kick by Nani, Vidic against BAE!!!! (what a clown he is really my team's player) had a very easy task. Spurs had their own chances but it wasn't to be.

Second half: Bale continued being out of the game mentally and only after Rafael was substituted, he become somewhat dangerous. Lennon completely disappeared, Keane was not good enough until he got substituted as well (maybe he didn't get the correct passes). Spurs in general never looked a threat in the second half in comparison to the first and looked like they didn't want to risk and get something from this game. I was disgusted to be honest in the second half from my team. Manager made some substitutions but as soon as Van Der Vaart was out, Spurs completely faded. I won't stand too much on the second goal (although it seems that every year we get dubious the least decisions against Utd.) but I will say we got what we deserved from our second half display.

After all have to admit that a win for Utd was a fair result, although Utd. as well didn't convince me at all. We really need a left back, Defoe back and a very very good CB.

Sorry for this huge comment. Those are my thought only and I don't represent any other Spurs supporter.

People can fuss all they like about Utd's second goal - I know that you actually aren't here - but Spurs didn't even look like scoring once in the last half hour.

Astonished that when Crouch finally came on, Bale and Lennon were playing as inverted wingers, so no crosses ever went into him.. Seemed pretty counter-intutitive.

Exactly. Like I said Spurs looked like they didn't want to risk anymore in the game in the second half, or maybe they wanted to save some energy for the Inter Milan game. I guess it is the second.

Spurs looked very dangerous on the first half, it was a great game of football for the neutral. 2nd half United just looked fitter. I said it before Spurs need a dominating centre back and a left back and they will be right up there challenging not just for champs league but for the league.

Only because I think that this goal didn't decide the match. Our unwillingness to get something out of this game in the second half was the key point to me and the bad game of Bale and Lennon. Of course Van Der Vaart substitution didn't help at all as well.

Jenas was so and so. He really didn't help the team but I can't say it was a shocking display from him. I don't expect many things from him anyway. I don't rate him that much tbh

      Not good so far...

Click in history... it'll show your overall rise/drop.

I still have 6 to play so my red arrow isn't worrying me too much.
