Apologies for the tardiness in getting Paddy’s odds to you this week. While they now hold little bearing on our Fantasy selections for the coming Gameweek, they make a decent distraction while we contemplate decisions made. Whether they leave you smiling smugly at your chosen strategies, or leave you wringing your hands in worry, is another matter entirely.

Let’s see how Paddy views the Gameweek prospects and what they have up their sleeves when it comes to the Scout and Money Back Specials…

Who Will Keep a Clean Sheet?

  • Arsenal 1.72 (WHM)
  • Everton 2.00 (STK)
  • Chelsea 2.00 (bla)
  • Aston Villa 2.25 (BIR)
  • Man City 2.25 (wol)
  • Fulham 2.25 (WIG)
  • Man United 2.50 (TOT)
  • Liverpool 2.75 (bol)
  • Newcastle 2.80 (SUN)

Arsenal’s encounter with West Ham is, not surprisingly the fixture that has the biggest impact on Paddy’s odds this weekend. The Hammers aren’t expected to trouble Fabianski in goal and subsequently Paddy is backing Wenger’s side pretty heavily for a shut-out at the Emriates.

David Moyes’ Everton, so improved defensively of late, are rated as second favourites, with Chelsea tied for that position, despite the tricky prospect facing them at Ewood. Owners of Coleman, Baines and Ashley Cole will welcome that view.

Interestingly Villa come in next, despite what is expected to be a fiery local derby at Villa Park. With just one goal conceded in four games at home this term, Paddy’s thinking looks sound here and I’ve backed that with Brad Friedel’s selection in the Picks.

City are tied with Villa and have a strong chance of a cleanie at shot-shy Wolves but, as mentioned in last night’s Scout Picks, I just fancy Wolves to nick a goal given the form they’ve shown over the past two matches. I chose to back Newcastle over City, United and Liverpool – all better placed by Paddy here – when it came to my Picks. I just see Newcastle running out 1-0 winners in Sunday’s game.

Anytime Goalscorer

  • Chamakh 1.66 (WHM)
  • Drogba 1.72 (bla)
  • Bendtner 1.90 (WHM)
  • Berbatov 1.90 (TOT)
  • Arshavin 2.00 (WHM)
  • Fabregas 2.10 (WHM)
  • Torres 2.10 (bol)
  • Hernandez 2.10 (TOT)
  • Anelka 2.25 (bla)
  • Saha 2.37 (STK)
  • Yakubu 2.37 (STK)
  • Adebayor 2.37 (wlv)
  • Malouda 2.40 (bla)
  • Walcott 2.40 (WHM)
  • Carroll 2.70 (SUN)
  • Odemwingie 2.70 (blp)
  • Cahill 2.75 (STK)
  • Nasri 2.80 (WHM)
  • Kamara 2.80 (WIG)
  • Dembele 2.80 (WIG)
  • Carew 2.80 (BIR)
  • Agbonlahor 2.80 (BIR)
  • Nani 2.87 (TOT)
  • Campbell 2.87 (WBA)
  • Varney 2.87 (WBA)
  • Balotelli 3.00 (wlv)

An extensive list of possible goalscorers, with Arsenal’s various attacking threats dominating. Paddy envisages that the Gunners will be queuing up to notch against the Hammers and Chamakh leads the way for the first time this season, ahead of the likes of Drogba and Berbatov who are strongly fancied as always.

It’s interesting that will all the Fantasy talk on Cesc Fabregas, he is given the same odds as Fernando Torres and Javier Hernandez to score this weekend. Samir Nasri meanwhile, is viewed less favourably, with Florent Malouda, Tim Cahill and Andy Carroll all rated as more likely to register a goal over the Gameweek. Indeed, Fulham’s Mousa Dembele, on the bench in last night’s Picks, is just as fancied to register a goal as Arsenal’s Nasri.

Paddy’s Scout Specials

This week’s Paddy specials offer odds of 17/2 in the Clean Sheet Accumulator on Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton to all keep shutouts this weekend. Over in the Scout Picks special meanwhile you can get 10/1 on Fabregas, Dembele and Drogba all being amongst the goals in their respective matches.

Paddy’s Money Back Special

The “Money Back” offer this week finds us over at Old Trafford where Paddy will be refunding all lost first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets on the match if Rafael Van der Vaart scores the last goal of the game.

Bet £10 Get £20

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm predicting at least a couple of Pen assists for him.

Got an uncomfortable feeling that he is the mystery addition to my cup opponents team this week, could leave:

      ACole, Konchesky, Brunt (me)
      vs
      Bosingwa(/Williamson), Coleman, Chamakh (him).

My 4 point headstart will be decimated if he Chamakhs hay in the sunshine today.

Gah - uncomfortable is about right. Good moves Don Corleone....

Cup tie comes down to this:

ACole, Konchesky, Adam(/JoseEnrique) and Brunt (me + 4.5points)
          vs
Bosingwa(/Williamson), Coleman, Adam(/Barton) and Chamakh (him).

Well I joined the 8 point hit party this week.

Did Gerrard > Fabs & Tevez to Little Pea last night....and at 11.28 this morning did Adam > Cahill. Stubbornly left Bos in. Hope it comes off!

correct me if I'm wrong but are those specials not just shafting people. For example Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton to keep cleansheets as a treble pays 10.27 as standard on Paddy. Why would we take up 17/2 as a 'special'??

they can offer what ever odds they like but they're offering two sets of odds for the same thing and tricking foolish people in to thinking the worse odds are the better deal. Ever bought a 'half price' TV that was actually marked up 20%?

this morning i took the unprecedented step of completely ignoring the herd on here and having a think. Through a complex series of equations ivolving differentiation, cosinetan, and to a lesser degree, transubstantiation, i went and did it gents- I benched drogba in favour of carroll and hernandez. YES, I benched drogba. I could get a huge advantage out of it. Converely, i cud be fooked, but one has to have the courage of one's convictions.

I also think Charlie Adam wont let stitches stop him playing, so im not counting on ddrogba coming in for him. Stitches after a week can be sewn up tight and protected.

      I also took in fabs for arteta to give me;

adam, nani, nasri, VDV, FABS (C)

      HErnandez, Carroll (drogs)

Ive been saying this all week, so it was time i put my money where my mouth was. Big Chris for a 9 pointer today, GO ON BIG CHRIS!

Arteta = Barry Ferguson + the odd set piece 😉

What I managed to forgot when making the transfer is that Young will out on the right this weekend, with Albrighton suspended, which makes him slightly less appealing.

Amazed that Arteta gets all the attention on here to be honest. Young is playing a striker, his chalkboards are amazing and he takes every set piece. Plus the bonus judges seem to like him just as much as Arteta.

I'm expecting big things from him...

Although Arsenal would have won the league if Fabregas and RVP had stayed fit.. The football they were playing at the beginning of last season with both of them fit was absolutely ridiculous.

            Everton 1-6 Arsenal
            Arsenal 3-0 Tottenham
            Arsenal 6-2 Blackeye

So? It's unlikely that a team's star players are ever going to stay fit for the whole season, and if you have rubbish back up then that's no excuse...

For another example see united/rooney- who I fully admit we relied on too much last season...

When it comes to strength in depth City are very good, they almost always have the superior bench.

When it comes to starting XI and the most important subs they have some way to go before matching Arsenal, United and Chelsea though.

That Paddy special looks a bit dodgy to me.

New, Ars, Eve cs odds: 2.8x1.72x2=9.63

      17/2 offered equals 9.5

So we really would lose some money by taking up this offer 🙁

The goal scorer offer provides better odds than you'd get by just making an accumulator though, which is nice.

My 1 wish this fantasy weekend is for fabs to run riot and nasri to do absolutely nothing. That'll teach all the tight feckers for going for the cheap option
