The build-up to this weekend’s action has been like the annual Fantasy Football Hokey Cokey, and trying to pin down players to select as a result has evidently not been the easiest. Malouda is in, Malouda is out, Malouda is in again; rinse and repeat for the likes of Nani and Van Der Vaart and the head starts spinning.

Despite these murky waters, we’ve done our best to once again find six picks that we feel are set for a decent scoring week over in the Metro Fantasy Football sphere. Participants in that game can now take a look at our “Bankers” and “Punts” for the week ahead…

Choosing a “Banker” this week evidently became an easier affair than many other weeks, with options a tad sparser than normal, but there were still a few other players who can be deemed unfortunate to miss out.

On the back of his Europa League hat-trick, Steven Gerrard could well prove a decent selection, despite facing league leaders Chelsea, as he’ll hoover up bags of Opta based bonus points on top of any goal based returns that may head his way. If Carlos Tevez is confirmed fit and ready for the trip to West Brom, it goes without saying he always stands a chance of a bounty, but with nothing definite as of yet, we deemed it too risky to stick our necks out on that one. Samir Nasri once again misses out to his skipper; if and when Cesc gets injured again the Frenchman will undoubtedly get the chance to remove his bridesmaid’s dress. Then of course there’s Didier Drogba – always about, always a threat.

Punting on a player is always a fun part of Fantasy Football and Gameweek 11 really offers the chance for Managers to spread their risk-taking wings.

Alexander Hleb faces Robert Green this week hoping that he reverts to his England form after a star performance last week. In Saturday’s early kick-off Chung-Yong Lee will probably be tasked with doubling up on Gareth Bale, but if Spurs show any sign of Champions League fatigue, he could find a few holes in-between the Welshman and Assou-Ekotto. At the Cottage, Aston Villa may struggle without a first choice striker but if they do break the home defence, the creative spark will likely come from Ashley Young. In the same match, Fulham’s Mousa Dembele is also worth a look – he returned outstanding stats last weekend in the win over Wigan, despite Clint Dempsey stealing the plaudits with a brace.

Check out the six players that we thought were just that little bit better than those mentioned above here.

    Bloomin new page.. I said....
Anyone listen to the scoutcast and hear one of them/you saying that selling malouda, or nani now, if you’ve had them from the start, would lose you .4 or .5 and therefore was like being punished and unfair? Anyone want to raise debate on this? Obviously we’d all prefer it if we kept all profits made instead of half, but which is the fairest way? Personally I think it’s fairish.. but i’d still like the extra 50%

Jara > Coleman.... 1 free transfer - do it or save it?

    Foster (Krul)
    Mummy Dann Alcaraz
    Nasri Fabs(c) Adam Malouda
    Drogba Berbatov Carroll

    Subs: Simpson VDV Jara

    Bank: 1.3

Jara's obv out for next 3 gw's. You have a good playing team of 11 this week (malouda possible doubt) so given the midweeks prob best to save up 2 frees?

For me it would come down to if I would play Coleman this week I'd do it otherwise wait as anything could happen to him.

Coleman is a risk in the medium term, although he's probably safe for this week. You want some certainty around that player, particularly given Fabs, Malouda & VDV have doubts/are out.

Other options include Shawcross, Hutton & Knight.

Really appreciate any opinions on a wild card squad:

    Foster - Al-Habsi
Alex - Mummy - Dann - Coleman Foley
Fabregas - Arteta - Nasri - Adam (VDV -> dunno yet?)
    Drogba – Hernandez (c) - Carroll

Would leave 3m in bank to get 2 of Nani/VDV/Malouda, maybe all 3 back if I nedded to, or leave other transfer options
    over next 2 weeks.

    Thanks

Come on guys I offer a lot of advice on here... please look further up, do you feel it's worth doing Jara OUT Coleman IN? 🙂

I won't be able to sleep otherwise. Coleman for next 5 games (overall) I think is good, IF he's gonna play.

It's all about Coleman keeping his place. But I think with Jara out for next 3 games, it's worth a gamble.

If you have Nani, I see no reason not to play him. Reports indicate his injury is not too serious and he might magically appear in the lineup. Yes, they don't need him to beat Wolves, but if he indeed doesn't play, then your sub will come in and this would be the player that you would have played rather than Nani anyway.

ok nani to arteta done. now the question is who to bench between carroll/elmander? playing 4-4-2 w/drogs and one of the two. this decision could be the difference in my cup draw as his forwards are berba, carroll, davies.
