Last weekend saw a brace from Clint Dempsey grab the headlines in Fulham’s 2-0 win over Wigan as Mark Hughes’ side recovered from two straight league defeats to climb back into the top half of the table.

With a broken leg keeping Bobby Zamora sidelined for the next few months, Dempsey has been playing as an out-of-position forward for the Cottagers and the American has taken his chance to impress. In the six games Fulham have played since Zamora‘s Karl Henry-enforced injury, Dempsey has scored four goals and, taking Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Bonus Points into the equation, has racked up a total of 41 points during this period, compared with just 6 points in the first four league games of the season. Averaging almost seven points per game up front, then, Dempsey is making a mockery of the fact his price has dropped £0.3m (from £7m to £6.7m) since the season began.

In this latest Members article, we check out Dempsey’s key Opta stats from Gameweek 10 and compare them with his Fulham strike-partner Moussa Dembele. The result is somewhat surprising…

    OK everyone, here goes...

I take no credit for this one; my good friend Jordan has unearthed this weekends gem of a bet...

4/1 Andy Carroll anytime goalscorer against Arsenal! (12/1 first goalscorer).

Let's get this right; the joint 3rd top goalscorer, the Total Shots on Goal leader and the equal Shots on Target performer is 4/1 to score against a porous and travelled Arsenal defence!!

    They've moved Christmas...AGAIN!!

I want to do the Malouda > Arteta move, but I think I'm gonna go for the Nani > Arteta move. Have Malouda and Arteta for their home games and then ditch Malouda for Nani after the Villa game.

This is exactly my plan. You really only have room for 1 extremely high priced mid and I'm thinking Fabs is better than Malouda long term with Lampard coming back.

I also think Nani is a must have. Essentially, the combo of Fabs and Nani is better than Malouda and Nani.

      It had it's moments...

Just watched a hilarious scene from The Wire a couple of hours ago. Season 5 Episode 3, not that that will mean anything to you right now... It's around the time when McNulty is creating his serial killer, and the Bunk gets Lester into the interrogation room to persuade McNulty to drop it all..... And Lester starts giving McNulty advice on how to do it and how to grab the attention of the bosses... The expressions from McNulty and the Bunk are brilliant.

I didn't do it any justice... But trust me, it was hilarious!

        Both? Hmmmm.. Interesting.

The thing with Arteta is tha in the next 3 he has also bonus darlings in the opposite teams, with who he has to compete. Ada, Davies and Fabregas, so he could not gain 3 BP. We need more from him. Cahil is scoring and having assists recently. Cahill 17k NTI today, Arteta 7 k. The crowd things Cahill.

        Hmm...
Stil not convinced. Need something to make up my mind.

Arteta doesn't pick up yellow cards though, whereas Cahill has picked up 2 so far this season.

          BPs:

          Arteta 12

I would have supported any breakaway club in protest against H&G, in fact we had one but they never nailed it like FC United. However now we have new owners, are virtually debt free I have zero interest in anything like that. Still truly understand the reasons though. FC United will get no air time once Glazers are gone.

Don't get aggy. I asked the question, can United fans support both, surely not was my opinion. I was looking for views that's all and a discussion. I said I like what they have done and why. True support can only be given to one club I guess. Did I support the protests against H&G, yep, would I continue to support clubs/groups/football teams against Liverpool and the ownership, nope.

that's where you're wrong though, they're not against the club itself- they're against the ownership and modern football in general w/the way various premiership clubs are being ran. they want power back in the supporters hands where it belongs, just like a democracy.

right, in the prem it's nearly impossible, especially for top clubs because of the commercial value and money involved that spoils it. that's why a new leader/owner who actually does what is right for the club and the fans is so important, but seemingly harder and harder to find.

+1 akers. fc united is based on the true heart and soul of manchester united and the proper way that football began- they're just sticking to that. supporters still sing man. united songs at the matches and follow man. united. i'd imagine that they've fallen in love w/their club as they truly own it and won't simply fold when the glazers finally sell, but will continue to support both. think of it like a semi-pro branch of the parent club where you can support it from top to bottom as they're interconnected.

I'd get Arteta this week. If VdV is confirmed out midweek, you could get Bale then

First transfer looks good (but Tim Cahill is a decent shout also). I said earlier that I would hold onto VdV for this gw and wait to hear what Harry says for the midweek game. Then I would do the Bale transfer if he is still injured.

In my case, I wanted VdV so will hold off until I get more news next week. Bale will come in for me if VdV doesn't make it also.

Can you get by without replacing VdV??

Yeah, thanks for that mate, really helpful. I can get by without VDV as I'll play Joey Barton, not the kindest of oppositions in Arsenal but he may sneak in an assist to Carroll off a corner or something, he's due one after scoring only 2 points in the 5-1 rout.

Ok so opinions please. Trying to decide whether to get Tevez back prob next week or spend the cash elsewhere.

Both teams include Foster,Hahhneman, Elmo,Alex,Dann, Enrique, Nani, Arteta, Fabregas.

Tevez Team for Week 14 includes these differences:

    Tevez, Morrison, Adam, Coleman

    Non Tevez Team :

    Odemwingie,Jarvis, VDV, Vidic.

    Which one?

So its not really that far away if you get me.

Cheers for the input. Need to look through whether id like to captain Tevez at anytime over my other options.

I really like the idea of having a United Defender come week 14.

Vidic is for me this week Db.

Looks like it will be Drogba and one mid-price forward and one cheapie for the rest of the season for me.

City badly need Tevez back; and I would have Silva and Johnson starting every week as well.

The way i see it is Tevez vs VDV & Vidic, Id go for VDV & Vidic. Jarvis has a great string of 5-6 fixtures aswell during that period (i guess thats why you choose him) Coleman is also going to be a massive rotation risk by GW14. Id go for the non Tevez team.

Tevez is a tricky one for me. If any of Man U, Chelsea or Arsenal had fixtures of:

BIR ful stk BOL whm EVE new AVL BLP

then you'd say that their main striker (should they have one) was essential. So I suppose it all comes down to whether or not you back City to keep pace with the big boys. Jury's out IMO.

Hi all - am down to 10 players max (3-3-3) as follows:

    Foster

    Coleman/Simpson/Elmohamady

    Fabregas/Adam/Nolan

    Drogba/Berbatov/Chamakh

Confirmed not playing are: Al-Habsi, Bosingwa, Jara, Van der Vaart, Nani

Have already used my freebie. What do you guys think? Is it worth taking a 4 point hit to get 11 players playing and if so, who to drop and replace with. Am wondering about Nani out for Bale in - what do you think about that?

I'm no expert, but the talk on here seems to be that he will only play occasionally....maybe one of the 2 games...the best chance of getting points back would be VDV or Nani to a top mid EVE/Nasri/Bale etc...
