Just two kick-offs this Sunday as Arsenal travel up to Goodison Park to try and capitalise on United’s draw at Villa Park and move into second place while Chelsea look to open up a lead of 5 or 6 points – depending on the Arsenal result – to their closest rivals at the top.

Everton have recalled Seamus Coleman and Johnny Heitinga to their starting line-up in place of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and the suspended Marouanne Fellaini. Arsenal meanwhile recall Samir Nasri in place of Thomas Rosicky, the teams in full are…

Everton XI: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Arteta, Heitinga, Pienaar, Cahill, Saha.

Arsenal XI: Fabianski, Sagna, Djourou, Squillaci, Clichy, Nasri, Song, Wilshere, Arshavin, Fabregas, Chamakh

    Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.....

This is probably the worst Chelsea performance I've seen since Scolari was manager. Absolutely hopeless.

I don't think I've ever seen a supposed 'midfielder' influence a game less than Zhirkov is at the moment. He is a complete and utter waste of space.

Cole and Bosingwa should never play together in the same team. Time and time again Sunderland have countered and it's been Gyan and Welbeck running at just Ivanovic and Ferreira, and they have absolutely battered us.

Oh, and Ivanovic should have been sent off, no doubt about that.

I pray that Zhirkov doesn't come out for the second half and we get McEachran on, because this is beyond terrible.

We are defending far too high against two forwards with genuine pace... Mikel, Bosingwa and Cole are pushing far too far up the pitch at the same time, leaving Ferreira (who is no CB) and Ivanovic totally exposed.

Ramires and Zhirkov is a joke midfield duo.

Quick question (not piss take) do you not have another Centre back? Terry's been struggling with injury on and off for the the last couple of seasons so this was always going to happen at some point.

There's always Bruma. But he's young, although he has been capped by Holland... I'd be tempted to get him on to be honest. Ferreira and Ivanovic are all over the place.

Ultimately it comes down to the squad depth and at the moment the squad players are not looking that good for Chelsea. It will be interesting to see if it stays like this who can Ancelotti bring on to change things.

Yeah, we do miss Lampard (not as much as Essien) but that's more to do with the incompetence of both Ramires and Zhirkov in the middle. They do absolutely nothing.

All you have to do is look at the stats on Zhirkov in the time he's been on the pitch and it's plain to see - and a shame, as I've liked him - but he's generally been pretty awful/bloody anonymous whenever on the pitch. It's a bit of a travesty.

He's a talented footballer, but he is not a central midfielder, not even close..

If Carlo's going to persist with the same eleven in the second half then I'd much prefer to see Malouda in the middle and Zhirkov out on the wing.

What a great first half for Sunderland, they have showed bottle and endeavor and wholly deserve that 1-0 lead at half time. Chelsea have been awful at the back. Get Wellbeck back to United after Christmas Fergie, always liked the kid. Ivanovic should of gone to all those Chelsea boys moaning about the decisions in the United game yesterday, swings and roundabouts and all that.

Drogba looks like he is hungry for it today though, fancy Chelsea for a goal or two anyway, but if Gyan and Wellbeck keep playing that way, and Cech not being superman, we could have a great result. Well done Sunderland
