Fulham’s home form under Roy Hodgson was key to their success in recent seasons; 36 of their 46 points last term came at home, as well as 8 of their 12 clean sheets. Despite the change in manager over the summer, the pattern this season hasn’t changed. They have picked up a respectable 9 points in five home games so far, but are still without a win away from home.

Thankfully, Fulham have the luxury of three home games in the next four, and begin their kind run of fixtures by playing host to Man City, who despite their wealth of attacking talent have struggled to find the net recently. Another home game follows with a visit from struggling Birmingham, then Arsenal away, before another home game against Sunderland. We can probably expect at least one, maybe even two clean sheets from this run, and so the likes of Salcido, Hughes and Hangeland are now firmly on our radar.

While Aaron Hughes and Stephen Kelly offer cheaper routes into the Fulham defence, the crown jewel in the Fulham defense is surely Brede Hangeland. His aerial ability and confidence on the ball has attracted the attention of several big name clubs over the years, with good reason. It’s not just his defensive qualities that make him such an appealing Fantasy prospect though, his strength in the air means he goes up for most corners and set pieces and has bagged two goals already this season as a result.

While Hangeland may not be the most exciting of picks, he offers a level of consistency that seems so hard to come by this season. Along with Aaron Hughes, Hangeland has played every minute of every game so far, and with so many other defenders nursing injuries or at risk of rotation due to European commitments, his reliability and kind fixtures make him a very smart choice right now. While 5.6 may seem like a lot of money to spend on a Fulham defender, as with Gary Cahill at Bolton, sometimes it makes sense to pay that little bit extra for potential at both ends of the field with the potential for Bonus Points thrown in.

    Morning all

    My team is

    Foster
    Elmo, Bosingwa, Kolarov
    Nani (C), Fabregas, Malouda, Adam
    Gyan, Drogba, Caroll

    Carson, VDV, Coleman, Simpson

My two free transfers were Gyan and Kolorav in.

    1. Are my subs in right order? I think so because coleman offers more than simpson
    2. Should VDV start instead of Adam?
    3. Any other obvious changes today?

In long run Chelsea boys may go...e.g. Drogba for Rooney, Malouda for Lamps...

    Cheers Torres

This got lost on the last page:

Final decision on my WC team – Nzog or Adam? I’ve had Adam since the beginning. Team is below (new players in caps):

    GORDON, JAAS
    VIDIC, KOLAROV, KONCHESKY, Coleman, FOLEY
Fabregas, NANI, Van der Vaart, Adam, FERGUSON
    GYAN, Carroll, Drogba
    1.9 in the bank

Fitting that the last person I see today on here is you 😉

      Team is just dandy.

I would prefer Simpson to Foley for the simple reason that I would never want to play a Wolves defender. Forget the fact that Wolves have better fixtures, when are you ever going to play Foley?

Also Adam and N'Zogbia is a toss up...but if you've had Adam since the beginning why not keep faith? (at least until Blackpool inevitably fall apart)

Nani is only the safer option because more people have him and more people will captain him so if it goes wrong it goes wrong for a large percentage of players. From what Fergie said it sounds like he is a doubt to play the full 90 so in some ways Fabs is the safer choice.

          It's simple.

          Nani - Safe choice
Fabregas - Risky choice, bigger payoff

I'm doing fine, so there's no need for me to risk it. I've also got high team value, so my outfield 10 (on the whole) should be able to beat other people's, simply because I can afford better players.

I benched Elmo, I'm worried about him not starting then coming on for 1 minute. VDV or Adam is a curly one mate. Would probably start with VDV as if Adam plays he may not finish the game and doesn't tend to score or assist much other than penalties. BP magnet though. Also think about Drogba -> Torres as your username is Torres76.

    Looking at benching Drogba today:

    Carroll
    Vidic, Konch, Coleman
    Nani, Jarvis, Adam, VDV, Fab
    Elmander, Carroll
    Bench: Drogba, Simpson, Dann

Have I got my line-up right?

You could be right, I may be being a bit hasty to play Carroll. I might also be being swung by CIV sending him home because he was unfit to play...

I know this sounds mad but I got rid of Elmo last night but swapped him for Bramble simply because I needed a definite defender to start and this way if Elmo does play all I will lose is potential bonuses... He never gets many assists (famous last words!)

Torres(C) for me today, in the 4 home games he has played over 80+mins he has either a goal/assist to his name! I think Kuyt will do the donkey work, to aid Torres chances(Who needs Gerrard)!

EPIC FAIL at 7.30pm so 😉
