Fulham’s home form under Roy Hodgson was key to their success in recent seasons; 36 of their 46 points last term came at home, as well as 8 of their 12 clean sheets. Despite the change in manager over the summer, the pattern this season hasn’t changed. They have picked up a respectable 9 points in five home games so far, but are still without a win away from home.

Thankfully, Fulham have the luxury of three home games in the next four, and begin their kind run of fixtures by playing host to Man City, who despite their wealth of attacking talent have struggled to find the net recently. Another home game follows with a visit from struggling Birmingham, then Arsenal away, before another home game against Sunderland. We can probably expect at least one, maybe even two clean sheets from this run, and so the likes of Salcido, Hughes and Hangeland are now firmly on our radar.

While Aaron Hughes and Stephen Kelly offer cheaper routes into the Fulham defence, the crown jewel in the Fulham defense is surely Brede Hangeland. His aerial ability and confidence on the ball has attracted the attention of several big name clubs over the years, with good reason. It’s not just his defensive qualities that make him such an appealing Fantasy prospect though, his strength in the air means he goes up for most corners and set pieces and has bagged two goals already this season as a result.

While Hangeland may not be the most exciting of picks, he offers a level of consistency that seems so hard to come by this season. Along with Aaron Hughes, Hangeland has played every minute of every game so far, and with so many other defenders nursing injuries or at risk of rotation due to European commitments, his reliability and kind fixtures make him a very smart choice right now. While 5.6 may seem like a lot of money to spend on a Fulham defender, as with Gary Cahill at Bolton, sometimes it makes sense to pay that little bit extra for potential at both ends of the field with the potential for Bonus Points thrown in.

    Cesc v nani captaincy debate.

Im thinking cesc is nailed on starter and something is telling me SAF may just sit nani on the bench v wigan and see how they get on, they should have more than enough on the pitch without needing to use nani.

Captaincy swings back in cescs favour.

Boom! And you just know that there will be goals in the london derby so more than likely Cesc will be involved eh? Also, if Arsenal do win, then more than likely Cesc will pick up at least 2 bonus points!

But then again, United are at home to Wigan and if Nani plays and United put on a show then Nani is going to get in on the act!!!

There's goals in the derby and Cesc will be on the pitch for 90 minutes barring injury or a red card. That's why he's my pick.

I know everyone in my mini league has nani and will captain him so i dont know if i play it safe and jump on the nani bandwagon or gamble and see if i can steal some points with cesc as captain.

Id say gamble mate, if your are in need of points then definetly gamble, if you are top then it shouldnt make too much of a difference if you do lose out on a few points. Worth the gambe though. I#m doing pretty well in my leagues, and even though nani was my captain since mid-week, I changed to Fabregas after a bottle of Whiskey last night and i'm goona stick with my drunken instincts!!!

If i captain nani and he doesnt play cos not fit then drogba will be my captain unless i go with form then caroll will be my captain. Thats why i think cesc is the safer option on that front but if nani plays surely he will bag a few points against wigan who they disposed of 5-0 last year (without nani may i add). Drunken instincts sound good though, i knew i should of hit the bottle last night 🙂

Yeah, hitting the solves all my problems 🙂

The way I see it is that there is going to be goals in both games, Spurs will attack Arsenal and vice-versa. Fabregas is central to everything at Arsenal and should contribute to at least one goal be it eith by scoring or assisting which will also mean bonus points if the Arsenal win.
Rangers came to Old Trafford sat back and defended for 90 mins and United failed to break them down. Wigan will also be defensive and play on the counter so it will be harder for Utd to break them down than it will be for Arsenal to break Spurs down, so for that reason, and i've just convinced myself right now, I will be sticking with Fabregas as my captain..

                God bless the bottle!!

I know it seems obvious but can't decide between Carroll and Hernandez.

head says Carroll but my Fantasy instinct(which has been rubbish all season!) says Hernandez.

My logic is that IF Hernadez starts there's a fair chance he can score well and I just feel Cahill may contain Carroll.
