Fulham’s home form under Roy Hodgson was key to their success in recent seasons; 36 of their 46 points last term came at home, as well as 8 of their 12 clean sheets. Despite the change in manager over the summer, the pattern this season hasn’t changed. They have picked up a respectable 9 points in five home games so far, but are still without a win away from home.

Thankfully, Fulham have the luxury of three home games in the next four, and begin their kind run of fixtures by playing host to Man City, who despite their wealth of attacking talent have struggled to find the net recently. Another home game follows with a visit from struggling Birmingham, then Arsenal away, before another home game against Sunderland. We can probably expect at least one, maybe even two clean sheets from this run, and so the likes of Salcido, Hughes and Hangeland are now firmly on our radar.

While Aaron Hughes and Stephen Kelly offer cheaper routes into the Fulham defence, the crown jewel in the Fulham defense is surely Brede Hangeland. His aerial ability and confidence on the ball has attracted the attention of several big name clubs over the years, with good reason. It’s not just his defensive qualities that make him such an appealing Fantasy prospect though, his strength in the air means he goes up for most corners and set pieces and has bagged two goals already this season as a result.

While Hangeland may not be the most exciting of picks, he offers a level of consistency that seems so hard to come by this season. Along with Aaron Hughes, Hangeland has played every minute of every game so far, and with so many other defenders nursing injuries or at risk of rotation due to European commitments, his reliability and kind fixtures make him a very smart choice right now. While 5.6 may seem like a lot of money to spend on a Fulham defender, as with Gary Cahill at Bolton, sometimes it makes sense to pay that little bit extra for potential at both ends of the field with the potential for Bonus Points thrown in.

There are loads of ways to try it.

      You could ask:

      Who would you rather bench?
Who do you think has the potential for more points?
Who would you regret not captaining more if you chose the wrong one?
Who would you feel most safe choosing?
Who is more likely to let you down?

Try those 5, and see if it gets you any closer.

Steven Reid has been playing well at right back and I think Jara might struggle to instantly get back in the team. Tamas is a sure starter and has more change of attacking returns than Jara in my opinion, he loves going on mad runs from our half and scored two last season since January when he joined us, he's come close this season on numerous occasions and it won't be long before he scores. Jara has scored twice for us and he joined us at the start of last season, one goal was a 30 yarder against Leicester, fair enough but he probably won't do it in the Prem and the other goal was cos of Almunia's butter fingers.

i agree about konchesky, but over the next 2 games vidic should score more. i can't agree about foster, i think birm will face a chelski backlash, and their defence is not as tight as it was last year

Fair do's though, wrote a great song for Buckley. Although he did drown himself after doing it! 😉

he didn't write it for buckley!

what everyone seems to have missed from my comment 'sigh,' is that in the single that was planned to be released by nirvana just before kurt killed himself, pennyroyal tea, he sings "give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld, so I can sigh eternally"

so i sighed in response to the flippant comment about suicide

            aren't i clever

            i'll shut up now

Also notice that just before Jeff Buckley sings hallelujah on the album Grace he lets out a soulful sigh. Both of them were/are brilliant musicians and artists in my opinion anyways 😛

      He's a doubt, it's 50/50 but if he is just 70% fit he'll play.

Camzy, your 'make early transfers because not likely to get any new injuries' tip backfired for many today. Parker, Dembele, Zhirkov etc and how many have sold Alex only to find he plays! Proof if ever that you pay your money and take your chance.
Emerton out for a while with bad hammy injury btw. Inside info. 😉

VdV will only get benched for me if he is injured. Don't know who your transfers are, but I would not bench Carroll either!

“It is quite positive,” said the manager. “He had 45 minutes for Holland.

“He has to get used to challenges again but technically and physically he is much better now.

“I have not picked the team yet but, like Bendtner, he is now very close.

“They are in the same category of fitness. They are reasonably fit but, of course, players of that calibre are also very impatient to start and I have to consider as well the balance of the team plus how well we have done in the last two away games. I still have 24 hours to decide that.”

where can you view activity to see how many people have transferred in/out a player? also, tm this one's for you...can you please explain how protection works exactly?

        http://www.fantasytools.co.uk/

while a player is red/yellow flagged it takes an increased ammount of transfers for a rise or fall

when the flag gets removed a player is "protected" and transfers in/out don't count at all, for about 7 days I think

Depends on your other keeper. Krul may be dropped for Harper long term, i.e. 2011.
